The question mark is because the day didn't start great -- the actual door into the building wasn't working, so you had to route through the reception area, and I had to ask the receptionist to pull up her mask (she gave me a look, but CRIPES, I said please!) -- and then there was more GL fun. And I spent the day feeling like everyone was mad at me even though I didn't really have a good reason to feel that way. :( But I got some work done, helped some people with online stuff, and the end of the day was pretty quiet, so. . .small mercies? *sigh* I dunno, I might just be hypersensitive right now due to my period. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better. . .

Oh, and here's a fun one for you -- I noticed as I was driving to work and coming home that the sky was kind of a funny color. I wasn't sure what was going on until Mom told me -- it's apparently haze from the California wildfires.

For those of you not in the know, I LIVE IN RHODE ISLAND. Opposite fucking coast, and we're -- it really just helps drive home everything you see on the news when it, in a small way, starts affecting you! Damn, I just -- I really hope help is on the way for those poor people. :( And now we've got Hurricane Sally in the Gulf Coast, about to batter like four states as a slow-moving storm. . .at least she's back down to a category one? And apparently they've got another storm brewing in the Atlantic -- Vicky! Yup, she's off the coast of Africa, I believe. . .and fortunately, does not appear to be threatening anyone. Thank God. . .

Okay, in more positive news:

-->Had three rounds of the beanbag game this afternoon, as we played a bit late due to Dad working out. And, happily, we each won a game -- Dad took the first, Mom pulled out the second, and I got the third. So that was nice!

-->Also managed to get in a workout -- I ended up skipping yesterday after the beanbag game, but snuck in a ten-minuter today while Mom was making supper. So go me.

-->Also managed to do some actual writing -- just shy of a page on "Londerland Bloodlines," FINALLY wrapping up Chapter 4 as Alice leaves Gallery Noir and sneaks back home to avoid nosy security guards. Got Chapter 5's set-up all sorted too -- she's gonna be listening to the news as she gets ready and hear about the gallery slashing -- and who owns the pieces. Cue a lot of swearing.

-->Watched a bit of YouTube:

A) A couple of OXBox and OXTra videos:

1. OXTra – "7 Weirdest Places You Found A Dark Souls Bonfire!" Yes, many games have a little Easter Egg nod to the famous series – including Overwatch, hiding one in a castle map, and Just Cause 3, where it's on the edge of an island and has a gun in it instead of a sword. XD The one I'm actually likely to ENCOUNTER, though, is the one in Fallout 4's "Nuka World" DLC. You can even kindle it for stimpacks, or take the sword for a new melee weapon and MORE stimpacks! Nice~

2. OXBox – "7 Times Games Roasted You To Your Face For Playing Them!" Mostly for playing them badly (hell, one BMX game not only tells you that you play like a Grandma, but then unlocks an actual Grandma character that it forces you to use for a level – and then just lets you pick whenever), though a few get on your case for playing too long (notably, get all the bonuses in The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jeff Goldblum will tell you to go outside and "get the stink blown off you." XD). At least they're reasonably amusing in their abuse?

B) And then it was over to Atop The Fourth Wall for the newest episode – "US-1 #9!" Which is – okay, let me just tell you this. At one point, we have a blimp-owning faux-German supervillain teaming up with a bunch of realtors to send a Nazi army to invade a truckstop to force it to default on its mortgage, forcing the patrons to get into a brawl with them while the hero of the book struggles to figure out how to control a mind-controlling whip that's enslaved his friends, all observed by the mysterious Highwayman, US's secret arch-nemesis, who is in turn observed by trucker-lingo-spouting aliens who have surrounded the Earth. This comic is absolutely bonkers and how anyone could not love it is beyond me. XD

-->And now I'm just wrapping up here and answering comments before heading to bed. Slept somewhat better last night, so hoping I'll manage the same tonight. And then another day in the salt mines. . .ugh, full weeks of work after short Fridays or holidays is the worst. :( But I gotta plow on through. . . Night all!

... I think I have or had that comic, somewhere, or maybe an issue or two before it. Sounds vaguely familiar. But not entirely sure where any paper comics are right now.

Main chara's a blond trucker guy? And I remember the whip. Don't know which issues I might have, tho I know I picked them up when I was 16 at a place that was a drive-in-theater at night and rented out the parking spots during the day as a flea market. We used to go there a lot. Someone was packing up and had a whole box of random leftovers I got for $20.

Hopefully they're safe somewhere and didn't mold. Really trying to make some organization progress this year, so maybe they'll turn up.
