Derailed Sunday
Sep. 20th, 2020 10:55 pmYeah, things ended up getting a little -- off-track today from what I wanted. Mostly because:
-->I stayed up WAY too late last night (rereading old fanfic) and had trouble going to sleep, and thus wasn't in the greatest mood this morning when Mom and Dad were moving all of her plants inside for the winter
-->This afternoon, we had an Amazon delivery and that ended up throwing off my attempt to work out (which had already been massively delayed by me getting wrapped up in Sims 4, who's surprised) and a lot of other stuff as I was trying not to worry about said delivery (you know, the Anxiety about the pandemic and all) and then struggling with the chair cover that came with said delivery (since my chair has been shedding its pleather for a while). . .eventually got it on the correct way and all sorted, at least. Sort of matches my curtains, which is nice. And it should result in fewer little shreds of plastic on the rug!
So yeah, not exactly the best Sunday. I didn't really get any writing done either -- though I'm ALMOST finished with that dang "layers" meme I want to post on tumblr! just kinda stuck on the "video games" question as I'd like to reference in-universe games for both of my Malkavian!Alices, but I'm not sure of the ones in Bloodlines. . . Hmmm.
On the plus side:
-->Did catch up pretty well on the old YouTubes:
A) Starting off today with an OXBox video on "7 Ways Sequels Explained Why You Suck Now" – aka, the game's rationale as to why you're not the badass you were at the end of the last one. Options include explosions (either just your stuff or you yourself if you're an augmented cyborg), having your gear sold so your friend could update her airship, or having your magical powers sucked out of you by a witch. All legit reasons to suck at the beginning of the next game, I feel!
B) And then it was onto The Spiffing Brit playing Among Us! Which is a little different from his usual content, as he's typically about finding the weirdest exploits in single-player games (I understand he has broken a LOT in Skyrim, and I of course am enjoying his occasional videos on Fallout 4). But this is all about figuring out ways to exploit FRIENDSHIPS to win as either an Imposter or a Crewmember – and who is he exploiting? Well, I saw RT's name in the title, but to my delight, not only is Call Me Kevin part of the chaos as well, so's Plumbella! :D Along with some people I don't know, but hey. Welcome to the ride! I didn't actually hear much of Plumbella or Kevin in the video (which I believe was clips from a stream), but there was a lot of fun yelling by Nogla at his brother as his frustration levels with the other players built. XD And Spiff managing to get away with not being ejected as an impostor by saying that he suspected RT and was doing a little dance to avoid getting murdered WHILE STANDING OVER A BODY was amazing. XD Impressed, my dear sir, im-pressed!
C) Then, later on this evening after Sims and supper, it was time for Fun With Shorts! Featuring a fairly boring short on pollination and flowers. The soundtrack sounds like it melted slightly, and everything has a weird brown tinge despite being in color – must be the 70s. :p
D) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin to catch up on his latest:
1. More Among Us! With a very heartfelt tribute at the beginning to Kevin's three friends: Big Chungus, 21, and pepe popo. Kevin didn't make any new friends in this round, though – mostly because a) he kept weirding everyone out by claiming to be playing on his honeymoon (with a wife ready to leave him at any moment) and b) he kept getting the impostor role, which doesn't really help with friendships. Though he did do pretty well with keeping the crew from discovering him as an impostor! Despite bugged lobbies and getting chucked out into the void once before he could even say a word. XD I like this new series, I hope he continues it for a bit.
2. And Live The Life, an EXTREMELY jank life simulator where you can run around naked, put a shower above your bed, and take eggs home from your fast food job to balance on your toilet. Also, practically everyone's face is melting to some degree. Kevin was equal parts deeply amused and horrified. XD I mean, I don't know where he FINDS these games, but they are a treat to watch, let me tell you. XD
-->In Sims 4 world, I decided to do some renovation after looking through my library and rediscovering James Turner's old "wizard tower" he built, long before Realm of Magic became a thing. I placed an unfurnished version in Glimmerbrook and started trying to redecorate it with Realm of Magic stuff, but -- well, the damn thing is so SMALL that it proved hard to get the look I wanted! So I tried to make it bigger, but that's leading to the walls getting all wonky on the upper levels. . . Blah. I'll try again at a later date -- I think it would be cool to update it to ROM, but it's obviously going to take more work than I expected!
-->Got two sweet reviews on the end of Secundus 2, which makes me happy -- I was a little nervous about that last chapter, but people seem to be enjoying it, so I'm good. :)
-->I have already completed my queue for Valice Multiverse, yay -- granted, it wasn't a huge one or anything, but still. Glad to not have that hanging over my head.
-->I've also gotten most of my pictures ready for the Newcrest Adventures update this week! More of Doctor Wheatley, including the house call. Still got a few to sort through (looks like this will be a three, three-and-a-half-part update), but it's nice to be at least a little ahead of the curve there!
So now it's just a matter of answering what's left in the inbox and getting to bed at least somewhat on time. Got four days to get through this week -- if I can make it to Thursday with no major disasters, I am golden. Just hoping I get some decent sleep tonight. . .we'll see what happens. Night all!
