Yup, five years ago today it released! Nice to have something to celebrate a bit, since this game has become one of my big COVID-19 sanity boosters. Which is -- vaguely hilarious, given it's a video game about the post-apocalypse. . .but it's a different apocalypse than what we're in the middle of, and you can actually help people and kill assholes, so. . .

Anyway, the usual round-up of the day:

-->Work started out kind of busy and annoying (the burglar alarm went off for unknown reasons once, which was ugh), but had calmed down by the end of the day. I even managed to get out a touch earlier than normal! Nothing to sneeze at, especially with a day off tomorrow. :)

-->However, my new computer is STILL not here. *grumbles* According to Mom it should be here tomorrow, but at this point I'm not holding my breath. Hmph.

-->Went for a bike ride this afternoon, which was nice -- even if it did end up leaving my butt kinda numb XD

-->And got in a decent amount of YouTube:

A) Exercise of course means watching Jon's Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! I left off with Jon doing his best to take out the Super Mutants at Fort Strong. . .and then dying because one of the bastards had a missile launcher. It took a couple more tries before Jon and Grills came up with a plan that worked – namely, use the Vertibird to kill the Behemoth and a couple of smaller Mutants, then ditching it once it lands and running for cover to take out the remaining Super Mutants on the island in a more stealthy manner. He FINALLY got the bastards down, and even got a Crippling Plasma Gun out of the legendary! So that was nice. . .and even better, he found a bed to drop a save. :) After a quick nap, it was into Fort Strong itself to take out the mutants within – a much easier proposition with lots of cover and the Deliverer on Grills's side. Though another legendary mutant dropped a Lucky 10mm Pistol, so Jon – who plays a LOT in VATS and relies a lot on criticals – is questioning his loadout. . . Anyway, got the rest of them down, chatted with Danse, then swam back to Boston Airport to get on the Prywden because the overland route was ridiculously long. XD Ended on him getting his reward from Maxson – Vertibird Signal Grenades! For when you really, really need a helicopter fast. :p And in Survival, with its lack of fast-traveling, you ARE going to need them.

B) Then, since it is Fallout 4's 5-year anniversary today, I rewatched a couple of the trailers – the live-action "Wanderer" trailer, and the announcement trailer which is actually pretty sad, as it shows Dogmeat going through the Sole Survivor's wrecked home at the very beginning. The contrast between doggo sniffing around the wreckage, and the good life the Survivor had before. . .I dunno, it just gets to me. That and the fact it makes it look like Dogmeat's actively sniffing out his friend to find him. . .

C) Needed something funny after that – what say we watch a little more GrayStillPlays?

1. Draw Story: Love The Girl – A weird stick-figure-based drawing puzzle game where you have to complete things with your terrible drawing skills to progress this weird little "girl is embarrassed at beach, girl is arrested and blows her way out of jail, girl meets boy and goes to the zoo with him, girl marries boy" story. About halfway through this insanity, Gray discovered that, um, a certain male body part could be easily substituted for most of the things he was being asked to draw. XD This is what happens when people keep sponsoring you despite you constantly trying to destroy their products – you decide you can fill your regular videos with whatever you want. XD

2. More Turbo Dismount – Because why wouldn't we spend more time smashing Nicolas Rage to pieces? XD More impossible challenges were attempted, wrestled with, and forced to bow down before Gray's greatness. Giant jump though never-ending buses? Gray will do it. A killer roundabout? Gray will merge with the traffic. Another game of frogger with so many cars crashing that it drops the fps to .01? GRAY WILL THROW DOWN SOME BOWLING PINS AND FORCE HIS WAY THROUGH WITH A BULLDOZER. It's inspiring, honestly. XD

3. And of course, we have to follow that up with more Happy Wheels! No bottle flip this time, though we ended on a pretty epic bottle run – ever had one where you had to go UP? The real hero of the hour though was Pogo Stick Man, who smashed his way through a glass jump (where even the floor is glass – Gray lost one run because he got caught under one of the towers he was supposed to jump, and accidentally broke the floor while trying to inch his way to victory), and VERY CAREFULLY slithered his way down a spike/jet/glass fall (losing his pogo stick in the process, but he still won!). XD That plus boards where you yeet your child through an obstacle course that ends up with them in a trash bin is why I love these episodes. :D

-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice and Tung are walking through the sewers, while Tung tells her about the main seven clans because he feels a tiny bit sorry for the newbie vampire who got dumped into the world without anyone to explain shit to her. I plan to walk through his dialogue for the clans and the sects before having Alice actually start the final "main" Santa Monica mission -- blowing up the warehouse. She shall be very sneaky-beaky about it. Until the actual explosion, of course. XD

-->And now, having caught up on webcomics and the like and having made some progress in answering my AO3 reviews, I find myself needing to do a LOT of queuing, on Valice Multiverse and VictorLuvsAlice. At least tonight I am less constrained by a bedtime!

As for tomorrow. . .kinda depends. If my new computer shows up, I'll be spending a good chunk of my day setting that up. If not, I'm going to focus on getting caught up on Call Me Kevin and some of the stuff in my Watch Later. I mean, hopefully I can do BOTH, but we'll see what happens. Right now, I have stuff that needs to get queued up for tomorrow and comments to answer. Night all!
