crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
Unfortunately I have been in a Mood most of the day, for a few different reasons:

-->A temperature drop for most of this week, needing me to break out the thick coat

-->General annoyance with work stuff, namely the credit card processing (why does it always have to be more of a pain in the ass than it should be)

-->Needing to clean out my water bottle because it was getting icky (fortunately I haven't been drinking from it recently, but ugh)

-->My new computer, not been here a week, ALREADY doing something weird -- namely, giving me a black screen when I turned it on for the first time today. Everything appeared to be functioning -- glowy bits were lit up, I occasionally had the mouse going across the screen -- but I never reached the desktop. Hitting various key combinations and clicking the mouse did nothing. I eventually had to shut it down and start it back up again, wherein it started acting normally again. No error message, no nothing -- which is also weirdly concerning? The only thing I can think of that might have triggered it was me turning on my monitor AFTER I started up the computer -- I've always turned it on before the tower when I boot up. I dunno, it just annoys me -- especially since this was NOT a cheap computer. We'll see how everything goes in the upcoming days. . .

-->Not getting to catch up on my YouTube subscriptions because I needed the time to do tumblr queues

*sigh* So yeah. I suppose on the plus side:

-->Work was relatively quiet, there MIGHT be a plan in place to handle the credit card stuff, and I managed to knock out another bundle of exceptions

-->I got in another bike ride after helping out on the puzzle some more

-->I wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines," with Alice and Bertram discussing the clans some more (and Alice calling him out on his very awkward praise of the Malkavian clan) -- next up is a bit on the sects, then we get into the actual gameplay missions again

-->I got in a tiny bit of YouTube:

A) Another bike ride, another round with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Picked up with him taking on the satellite relay where the final recon team corpse is – surrounded by a bunch of Super Mutants. Fortunately for him, he was able (semi-accidentally) to lure them out to a better position for him to shoot them, and even got the help of a vertibird to keep a legendary distracted! Said vertibird then promptly crashed, but it was still a nice effort. XD After taking care of the corpse’s holotags and holotape, Jon started planning out his route to the bunker, and picked up a sweet semi-complete set of X-01 Power Armor (apparently the Good Stuff) from a crashed military convoy. And then promptly entered the “time of much dying,” where he:

1. Got attacked by a ton of Swarmbots and company on the road, and ALMOST managed to fend them off before a couple of the tougher ones backed him into a corner and killed him

2. Detoured to Finch Farm (picking up the quest there) and dropped a save before trying to follow Doc Weathers’ caravan (which had stopped there) for more protection. . .and promptly got wrapped up in a fight with the Forged AND the Swarmbots

3. Fucking ran for it into the water, watched as the caravan took on the Forged from a distance, then unwisely made the decision to start trying to pick off the nearby Gunners on the bridge, only to skedaddle when he realized one was named AND one (possibly the same person) had a Fatman Launcher and thus could shoot NUKES.

Anyway, he managed to make it to the Slog, and from there stomped his way over to Parson’s Insane Asylum, leaving his power armor outside to help Jack Cabot deal with the raiders who had swarmed the place. Jack Cabot proved able to powerslam Beserk Raiders and punch glowing radroaches across the room, so I dunno how much help he actually needed! XD I stopped before they found his father Lorenzo and the Charisma Bobblehead, but I’ll get to see the outcome of that tomorrow, so long as I keep to my routine.

B) Then I managed to get in a bit of Call Me Kevin – a “CallMeCover,” as one commenter put it, of “Your Song” by Elton John! It’s the second song he’s learned on guitar over the quarantine, and he’s doing really well! Dude’s got a lovely singing voice, that’s for sure. :D Think I like his version better than the original – but then again, maybe that’s because I can understand the lyrics better in his version than the original. It’s just – nice.

-->I did actually complete my queueing for tomorrow -- four posts of Newcrest Adventures on VictorLuvsAlice, and four posts of asks and threads on Valice Multiverse. So that's at least sorted

-->Computer IS behaving itself now, so. . .

So yeah. I'm gonna go answer whatever else might need answering here, then hit the sheets. Another day in the salt mines tomorrow, joy. . .hopefully I'll be a little less grumpy. Night all.
