-->Work was fairly quiet, but involved more "fun" with credit card updates, and my lunch break being interrupted by an elderly woman who just Would Not Get what I was trying to explain to her (at least by the time she'd called I'd finished actually eating). Plus just the generalized stress of trying to figure out what's going to happen with my job as cases continue to remain high. . .

-->Day was super cold, which I do not approve of -- it's supposed to warm up some for this weekend, thankfully, but ugh. Stop reminding me that winter's coming. :(

-->Got in a bike ride after getting home and helping with the puzzle (it's coming along) -- and, of course, more bike, more time with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Finished off episode 18 with him finishing off “The Secret of Cabot House” – picked up the previous Charisma bobblehead in the room where they found the wounded Edward Deegan, then helped Jack take out the rest of the raiders (which included some toughies, plus a legendary!) and kill his father (since apparently the supply of Mysterious Serum Lorenzo Cabot guarantees you if you side with him is only REALLY useful if you’re a melee character, and Grills Bears certainly is NOT). Jack handed over a bunch of caps and, after Grills asked about more of a reward, promised him some goodies if he stopped by the Cabot House in a week. With that to look forward to, Jon used his saved Perk points to take both ranks of Local Leader in one go (allowing him to set up supply lines AND build crafting stations – nonsense like that is why I got a mod that allows me to just make the latter without needing the perk) and hopped back in his power armor to head back to the Creamery and catch a save snooze. Things got slightly dicey at the beginning of episode 19 when he realized the fusion core in said armor was dying and he didn’t have any spares – luckily, skirting the top of the map to reach Paladin Brandis’s bunker proved uneventful (probably at least partially due to the Brotherhood Knights wandering around!), and Brandis’s bunker had a core in it! Grills managed to talk Brandis down (and hey, turns out if you go for just confirming who he is, you can take a speech path toward him not shooting you that DOESN’T require Charisma skill – good to know!), and used the power of his pretty red dress to convince him to rejoin the Brotherhood now that they were back in town. Then he grabbed his fusion core and some other kit and was back on his way. . .too bad I left him having to sneak around some Rust Devils on his way to Outpost Zimonja! Hopefully the poor bastard doesn’t die again, though at least he managed to drop another save at the bunker. . .

-->However, that has turned out to be my ONLY YouTube of the day -- namely because my computer told me it had an urgent BIOS update to do, so I figured I'd get that sorted.

While downloading some of the other updates that were waiting with the BIOS one, I was forced to restart. Fine, this happens, let's do that. So I restarted, and found one update apparently had installed, but the others hadn't yet. Okay, so I set them to installing. . .

It's been about three hours.

The fucking BIOS update bar is STILL FUCKING GOING.

I attempted to cancel it, but it won't let me -- says it can't be canceled anymore. And I'm afraid to fuck with it any further because, well, BIOS update. Screwing around with it seems a good way to make this week-old computer a very expensive paperweight. Thanks, Alienware. This is just what I needed from what's supposed to be my Christmas/birthday present. Stole a fucking hour of my life in general while I was waiting for the fucking thing to update, then -- thanks to my bitchiness -- I didn't want to watch any of the stuff piling up in my Watch Later or Subscriptions. So that's brilliant.

-->Due to needing to do SOMETHING while waiting for this stupid thing to ever finish, I did end up at least writing a bit more on "In A World Of His Own" -- Gigs, I ended up using that "killer piano" idea you floated past me in the form of sharing that Mario 64 video. XD I'm calling it the Paino, because why the hell not? And this will lead into Victor getting the Awful Orphica, so that's nice.

-->And now. . .well, I'm gonna answer the one comment left in my inbox, then shut down everything not the update again and. . .I guess just leave it running for the time being. Don't know what else to do. Dunno how I'm supposed to go to sleep with this glowy piece of shit on all night, but I'll figure out something. We'll see what happens by morning. Night all.
