crossover_chick: Victor on the ground with one hand up with the text "Nooo! Anything but the fangirls!" (CB: save Victor from the fangirls!)

I just keep going off on weird tangents inside my own head repeatedly. . . Anyway, let's have a quick round-up of my day:

-->Reasonably quiet work-wise, though my chatty coworker and the Christmas music station were taxing my sanity a little bit, along with some calls about credit card stuff. On the plus side, the building IS closing pre-emptively Thursday in anticipation of the storm we're getting Wednesday night. It IS a "you're expected to work from home" thing, but still. I'll scan some obits in, put on my headset and the radio -- it'll work. And we'll see what happens on Friday, depending on how much snow we get, and what type.

-->Afternoon pre-bike ride was spent mostly helping Mom decorate the living room for Christmas, along with a bit of puzzle, so that was nice.

-->Keeping up on the YouTubes:

A) More time the bike, more time with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Finished up his adventures through University Point to end episode 27 – poor guy (pretty much literally) fell afoul of the synths and mirelurks lurking around the building, meeting his end from a lucky synth shot after battling a killclaw. And when he respawned and restarted the fight, one of the mirelurks he was battling became a LEGENDARY. Fortunately he was able to pit the synths and mirelurks against each other for the second battle, and made it through much better. Even if he got the World’s Crappiest Legendary Weapon off the Legendary Glowing Mirelurk – a Frigid Board. Has a 20% chance of freezing enemies if you block with it. Jon was severely unimpressed.

He was much more impressed by University Point’s general story, though – and by the item he found at the end of it! He got further than I did in the area and found a password that led him to a secret area – and to the “Limitless Potential” rifle, an Neverending Energy Weapon that never needs reloading because all the ammo you have for it is just automatically loaded. Not idea for Jon’s current build, but he was still happy to have it!

With that done, we started of episode 28 with Jon heading back to Boston Airport to get the Brotherhood’s help with building his relay, deciding to take the long way around to see the sights. He managed to skirt a raider camp and take care of a few Mechanist robots along the way – then came across his Legendary Protectron friend, the one who helped save him from Radscorpions earlier. Jon decided to kill him to see what legendary gear he had on him, and karma came hard and twofold – a rather crap machine gun, and a bunch of super-hard robots, one of whom blew up in his face and murderlated him. Jon tried to skirt the encounter the next time, but instead it came for his Legendary friend – Jon tried to SAVE him this time around, but was unable to. At least this time he didn’t get exploded by the tankbot! Small mercies.

B) Over to OXBox Xmas Challenge Day 3 – Mike took on the “Yakuza Like a Dragon Karaoke Champion Challenge!” There is a karaoke mini-game in that game, and in order to win, Mike had to finish in the top ten of the in-game ranked list for the in-game region. Andy was merciful and said that it can be any karaoke song, and Mike got three tries. He tried the metal “Hell Stew” for the first go, but didn’t do particularly well (not helped by Jane and Andy’s commentary), so he switched to the slower ballad “The Future I Dreamed Of” for his second two goes. He improved massively on that one – ranked 53 on his first attempt, then – after finally getting his “holds” right – 2 on his third! :D Everyone was very impressed, and he took home a Christmas point! Andy’s gonna have to scramble to get on the board tomorrow. . .

C) Then it was time for some Call Me Kevin, as I have been falling behind on the subscriptions:

1. A three-for-one of videos that didn’t quite make the cut, brought back to life in compilation form! We had him playing Sea Man (that wacky game with human-faced fish-frog things; Kevin tried raising a few in his virtual tank, only to get creeped out and annoyed when they wouldn’t respond to voice commands, so he boiled them); the Hell Architect demo (yes, comparisons were made to his Sims game and Jim Pickens’s elaborate compounds. I actually recognized the game from Gray playing it – Kevin was a little less focused on the torture and a little more focused on getting the sinners to dig themselves straight off the screen XD); and the VR game Blade and Sorcery (modded to allow Star Wars weapons and locales! Kevin made his usual horrifying terror character with super-thick thighs and proceeded to summon lightsabers and chop up people! He did his best work against the Younglings and the people with the standard medieval weapons, of course). Good stuff!

2. Then it was back to Bitlife, where Kevin made Everything Addict, a character all about poor life choices! And boy, did he live up to that name – he was expelled from elementary school for attacking other students; expelled from college for attacking a teacher; tried to steal a car and ended up in prison; lost all his money in a casino and ended up in prison; became a porn historian; became a clubber and had a very brief relationship that ended because of his asthma; lost all his money in a casino and ended up in prison; became addicted to oxycodone and alcohol; and ended up dying from an overdose completely broke. It was sad, in a very funny way. XD

-->Wrote another gift fic for a tumblr friend, w00~ One more to go for rough drafts! Just have to figure out the best way to manage it. . .

-->Valice Multiverse was literally one ask today, so that was easily handled, at least! Now I just have to answer my other comment. . .

And yes, better get on that so I'm not too late getting to bed. Just have to get through tomorrow, and see what happens with the snow! At least we're in a good place food-wise and such. . . Night all!
