I don't know how I ended up this distracted tonight -- actually, no, I do, I spent some time reading old Sluggy Freelance, and doing queue stuff took longer than expected again. But yeah, gotta get through this one fast -- list mode activate!

-->Work was on the stressful side, ramping up in the afternoon -- people calling in for credit card stuff, more trying to fix stuff that was wrong on our system, all that jazz. I suppose it ended up making the afternoon go by, but bleh. At least my Friday off next week was approved, yay~

-->Afternoon was good, as the official to-do list will prove:

1. Keep up on YouTube Subscriptions: Check – and since I only had the two videos in the subs, went ahead and added a bit from the Watch Later too!

A) On Call Me Kevin, we had – Plague Inc! But a special version of it – turns out they’ve added a “Cure Mode,” where you’re on the OTHER side of the disease! Kevin decided he was going to help do some good and save people from – well, himself. XD This proved to be a harder task than first anticipated, though – “Kevin” the bacteria proved to be very infectious, and very good at eroding his authority. No matter how much money he pumped into getting vaccine production going, it seemed governments all over collapsed before he could get it out. Possibly because he kept forgetting to tell people to wash their hands. XD To be fair, he was ALSO playing on “Brutal” mode to start (which made a pointed comment about people injecting disinfectant) – it took going down to “Casual” (where clapping will scare the disease away) for him to secure a win. Can we turn down the difficulty level on our OWN plague, please? I’d appreciate it.

B) Over on GrayStillPlays, we had another impossible GTA V stunt race – a super-long parkour course featuring a variety of vehicles! Hell, Gray had to bust out the “truck with an onboard motor attached to it” just to GET to the board. XD There were leaps! There were creeps! There was a lot of annoying tightroping on a motorbike (including one going UP AT AN ANGLE – and then one where you had to JUMP TO IT). But the worst part for poor Gray? Going around the edge of two cylinders in a truck with the world’s TWITCHIEST tires. Seriously, you stopped, those things promptly started vibrating at the speed of sound. You could HEAR the strain in his voice as he tried to get around. Didn’t help that it started raining in the game too. . .poor guy did eventually reach the end, but I think that one may have genuinely done a number on his sanity. And given all his watchers some nasty ideas about the next board to design for him. XD

C) And then a quick hop over to Plumbella for a couple of quick videos she made this week --

1. A video detailing a Twitter revolution! AKA a bunch of people making fake twitter accounts for things in past Sims games that they miss in Sims 4 (possibly inspired by the Bonehilda account and Plumbella wanting to make a video more or less on that exact topic). There was an account for non-object babies, one for cars, one for the whole Generations pack for Sims 3, one for burglars, one for Vicki Vampiress from Makin’ Magic. . . Plumbella was tickled pink, and rightly so. XD

2. And a follow-up video where she discusses some of these characters and how they had such interesting effects on the lore of the game and the gameplay (Pollination Tech 7 being one of the ancestors of the infamous Sims 2 Calientes! Agnes Crumplebottom and her tragic past fueling her desire to hit Sims with a handbag when they’re on dates! The bus driver waving to kids as they picked them up for school! The Social Bunny dropping from the sky to help with lonely Sims!) It was a pleasant walk down memory lane, and a reminder that Sims 2 was basically the best Sims game, bar none. (Except for CAS and vampires. Sims 4 gets those.) She’s hopeful that stunts like “let’s all make accounts stanning our favorite missing features from past entries in the series” will get the devs attention and get some more change going in the game, but who knows, really. I’m just content with watching the hilarious chaos. XD

2. Work some more on “In A World Of His Own”: Check! Started Chapter 2, which puts our merry duo in the Butterfly Jungle! They’re currently just rambling among the trees, enjoying the butterflies and teasing each other about pockets. XD Although I just finished up a rather heartfelt moment where they both wish that they’d been able to know each other as children. . .and damn it, now I’m having feels about that “Peggy Sue AU” where Alice finds a way to send her mind back in time to her younger self to stop the fire, and picks up young Victor as a friend as a side effect. . . Don’t overload yourself with alternate universes here, Vic!

3.Get in a workout: Check! More bike, more of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! I caught back up with Grills and Nick as Nick led Grills to the scene of Jenny’s death. Nick seemed a little at a loss as to what to do with himself now that he’d killed Eddie Winter, poor guy, basically admitting that it’s tough for him to have an identity of his own what with having all of human!Nick’s memories in his head. He seemed to take Grills’s encouraging words of him now being free to heart in the end, though, stating that killing Eddie Winter was more than getting revenge for human!Nick and his fiancee – it was about seeing justice done. And that justice was done by him, as himself, and if it’s the only thing he can claim for himself – well, he can still die happy. It’s honestly quite emotional – I’d recommend looking up the scene rather than relying on my clumsy description. At any rate, Grills completed the quest, leveled up, took “Aquaboy” as his level 62 perk, and got Nick’s perk to boot – “Close to Metal,” which gives you an extra guess while hacking and cuts lockout times in half. Not fantastic (especially for Grills, who isn’t a hacker), but it’s there!

Grills also got that gun off Nick, finally – turns out it was an Enraging Combat Rifle! Not too shabby. . .at any rate, Grills took Nick on as a companion just long enough to get all the fun weapons off him and check how their relationship was doing (quite well), then sent him on the walk back to Hangman’s Alley before teleporting back home via off-screen Institute. He rad-scrubbed, put Eddie’s Peace up on the weapon display wall, then went ahead and took the Tesla Rifle off, because he has lots more carry capacity now, and he wanted to try out cool electric gun. XD Hey, if it’s there. . .

Actually trying out the gun had to wait until episode 51, however, which started with Grills going through some of his new toys and upgrading them – kicking the damage up on the Tesla Rifle and turning his Kneecapper Laser Pistol into another hand-held crippling shotgun of doom. And he even had two perfect opportunities to test them out – a settler telling him that the raiders had moved back into Back Alley Apparel, and some Rust Devils appearing by good old Chaos Junction. Grills gave both a go – so far, the Tesla has great damage, but bad range, and we haven’t yet see the fun arcing effect it’s supposed to have; the Kneecapper has fantastic output and takes down enemies fast, but has a HELL of a recoil. Jon also caught a Legendary in the Rust Devils and NEARLY swapped his current Powered Synth Chest Piece for a bit of Exterminator’s gear, but found the stats just weren’t where he wanted them. So instead he called in his vertibird, went back to the Nakano residence, then headed back to Far Harbor, where he used his new ability to resist all rad damage from water to swim over to Longfellow’s cabin (Jon musing that it’s weird the Fallout series has never done a proper sea monster that will attack you in the water as he did). Left him confirming that the cabin was properly linked to the trade network – I don’t know that he will build all the things, but the possibility is open now!

4. Finish up tumblr queues for Victor Luvs Alice: Check! Got my Song Saturday post up (after relistening to the song, because it's beautiful and gives me the feels -- "Fair" by The Amazing Devil, if you're curious), and my Sunday Valicetines too. Like I said above, took longer than I was expecting, but it's done and I don't have to worry about it for the next four days, yay.

-->And I just finished up catching up on tumblr and will now be yanking myself away from looking at cool mods for Fallout 4 that I will do my best to avoid installing because I don't want to destabilize my game anymore so I can go to bed. Two more days, then a cleaning Saturday. Just gotta get through all that! Night all!
