crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)

While I got a quieter lunch break (thanks to my coworkers going out for food), it was one of those "things start out a bit slow and then start escalating" days. Lot of stuff happening around and after lunchtime. I mean, I got a bunch of stuff DONE, cleared out some stuff that I didn't expect to clear out, but -- damn. And we're going to be down a coworker tomorrow, which is -- fun. I just hope Talky doesn't get on my nerves too much. . .

Anyway -- let's take a look at the old to-do list, shall we?

1. Get in a workout: Check – more time on the bike, and back to “Nuka-World Level One Survival!” Started Episode 9 of Minnie’s adventures as a raider queen, with her taking on Kiddie Kingdom! Jon said he had a couple of different plans on how to handle the place – where the main dangers are ghouls and MASSIVE amounts of rads – but he was going to try the high-risk, high-reward one first – suit up in the hazmat suit (which has the most protection against rads against anything in the game, but offers no actual damage resistance), pull out his Disciple’s Knife (which, being a fast weapon, gets more hits in VATS), and see how far he can get!

He got to the teacup ride before a bunch of ghouls spinning around on it managed to take him out. Jon wasn’t quite ready to abandon this first plan yet, though, noting that the few ghouls he DID manage to take down went down quickly thanks to Minnie’s sneak attack bonuses. The trick was to remain hidden – and this Jon ended up doing reasonably well, once he started putting his mind to it! Well, his mind and a couple of grenades – though, weirdly, I think his aim has gotten WORSE now that he has the throwing arc. Minnie let two fly at a gathering group of ghouls, and neither managed to hit. The hell. On the other hand, the Legendaries are suddenly coming fast and furious, with Minnie facing off against no less than THREE Legendary Withered! The first one took her by surprise and didn’t have much in the way of good loot – the second two, however, both offered up pipe weaponry with decent effects – Wounding and Crippling, respectively. Jon wasn’t pleased to see them on pipe guns, admittedly, but said that perhaps that was a side effect of Minnie going up against these enemies at such a low level – the game is scaling the legendary drops to the weaponry it’s expecting her to use. Would explain all the batons. . .

Anyway! With careful sneak-attacking (including, at one point, using the side of a sign to hide behind – as in the THIN side) and creeping through the rads, Minnie managed to make across all the various broken-down rides to her first destination – the Fun House! Jon promptly had her hoof it back home to save and get her armor – the rads will be much less in the building itself, and having more damage resistance than “none” and strength-boosting items to boot will only be to her benefit. Though I left him examining the cola cars track, scoping it out as a potential entrance to the maintenance tunnels. . .we’ll see if that pans out, or if we’re going in the building Jon worked so hard to get to.

2. Write some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check – Alice has made it out of Mercurio’s apartment and into the parking garage that leads to the beach – though she’s stopped there to listen to two cops talk about the gruesome crime scene they’re guarding, with one recounting a second bloody scene that spooked him pretty good in the past. The implication is supposed to be that he ended up coming across a werewolf attack, though that won’t be relevant for a good long while. Slowly but surely making our way through the opening quest!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Three videos, in and out --

A) Started with James Turner going back into Sims 3 to check out three of his builds there – a futuristic house (“Pod Alpha”), a 70s-style house (complete with avocado bathroom), and a private island mansion (with separate buildings for the party area and the vault). They were all very nice builds – one thing I will give Sims 3 is that it’s nice to have proper sloped walls and whatnot! Gives you plenty of opportunities to create cool shapes. James also got distracted near the end by some Maxis builds – a club that is reasonably cool-looking on the inside (and has skee-ball!), but has a very grim exterior for being near the beach, a “supernatural hangout” made to look like a repurposed factory (I’m not surprised he liked that, given how often I’ve seen the aesthetic come up in his stuff), and a charming little “elixirs” shop (complete with teleporter that vaguely resembles a police call box). Good stuff, even if I’m still not a fan of Sims 3’s general look.

B) Then it was time for Call Me Kevin and playing driving games with drunk goggles! He bought these recently and decided to take them for a spin. First were a few basic hand-eye coordination tests, which – proved he’s better at fake-drunk off-brand Jenga than he is at fake-drunk pouring water. Then it was onto the games, including BeamNG.drive (where he participated in some HIGHLY unsuccessful police chases – as a consistently-completely-lost policeman), Grand Theft Auto V (doing some taxi jobs – he actually successfully completed a couple of missions, but not without wrecking a bunch of cars and killing a few pedestrians – including his last fare), and Horizon (speed and drink do NOT go together – many fences were murdered by Kevin’s weaving). The take-away is don’t drink and drive, kids! And don’t wear drunk goggles except to make hilarious YouTube videos with your girlfriend. :p

C) And then it was onto GrayStillPlays abusing Minecraft again! Today, he did what he did to the iron golems to the wolves wandering around the world – only WORSE. You thought golems with four arms and eye lasers were bad? SAY HELLO TO THREE-HEADED DOGS WITH LASER BREATH, THEIR OWN MINIONS, AND THE ABILITY TO POOP OUT FRESH LOOT. Oh, and they MULTIPLY IF YOU SET THEM ON FIRE. Gray actually CRASHED THE GAME when he discovered that ability. XD The ending fight with the Ender Dragon went by quickly enough that he had to set up a spawner to spawn in NEW ones so he could see the destruction properly. XD I have no idea how he’s going to top that, but I’m looking forward to finding out!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Well, I readjusted the schedule so that the Thursday and Friday posts would fire on the right days, so – check? Honestly, I’m just surprised the WyrdSistersPodcast tumblr hasn’t actually posted their latest episode ON said tumblr – I thought I’d have that reblogged and ready by now! Will I have to post it myself, I wonder. . .

Plus I managed to answer a FF.net PM I had sitting around, and all the AO3 comments I had, yay. Just gotta finish up here on DW and I'm good for the night. Two more days to get through. . .why do five-day weeks have to feel so LONG. . . *shakehead* Night all!
