crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Traffic was pretty good both going in and coming out of work, and we managed to put out a few feelers on used cars -- one's been thrown out already for having been in an accident as well, but we'll see what comes of the others! Hoping this whole situation will be done with sooner rather than later. . .

Anyway, onto the Standard Form:

Work – Pretty quiet day, though I had to ask some questions about the GL, and do some adjustments for people. A lot of it was looking up people in the obits, though. Hey, I’ll take it – I’ve had much worse Mondays back after a long weekend! Plus we got confirmation of half-day Fridays for July and August, and my three-day 4th of July weekend is now a four-day one (they’re giving us the 2nd off too), so that’s nice. :)

Beanbags – Not today – it was muggy as heck, AND it kept looking like it was going to rain at any second, sooo no dice. And tomorrow’s supposed to rain too, so yeah. We’ll see if we get back to it before Wednesday!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check, finally! Got 30 minutes on the bike, and watched PleasantSims’s reaction to the livestream that announced Likes and Dislikes in Sims 4 along with Dream Home Decorator. She was hopeful for some good things, but didn’t like the SimGurus having to cheat away our test Sim Patina’s other emotions to have her get properly tense from listening to a radio station she didn’t like, and didn’t know if there was going to be the depth necessary in the system to really affect gameplay. As usual, modders are being called to pull up EA’s slack. . .we’ll see what, if anything, Cottage Living brings to the table there! (Favorite Foods? “Garden-to-table” is used a lot by the Gurus for this pack. . .)

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Finished up Alice’s conversation with Mercurio before he passed out from the morphine – she’s gotten all the information she can out of him about Therese and Jeannette, and some tips about what diner to look at first for Lily to boot. (Along with the reason why most Kindred hate Thin-Bloods – first mention of Gehenna ahoy!) Very productive evening – which is why the chapter should end on Wednesday with Alice taking the rest of the night off. XD Well, she does have a shirt she either has to junk or repair. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Three-fifths check – James Turner’s stuff is, once again, falling behind. Starting to think what I really need to do is refresh my memory of my YouTube password, sign on the Roku downstairs, and just watch a Subs video or two while working out to give myself more time in the evening. Worth a shot, right? But first –

A) Caught up on Call Me Kevin today:

I. A video on the Ouya mini-console – basically a box with a bunch of awful mobile-esque games on it! Whose servers were recently shut off by Razer, but a fan has resurrected the console with his own server. Kevin gave us a history lesson, then played some of the games on there, ranging from the awful (Badass vs Hipsters, a side-scroller where you just mash A to beat up things) to the pretty decent-if-very-weird (Back To Bed, a puzzle game where you play a strange dog-man-thing helping his sleepwalking friend Bob get back to bed in a Dali-esque dreamworld). Fortunately, the video had a happy ending – Kevin found a genuinely good use for the Ouya in using it as an emulator, and recounted how his 2017 video on the console was one of the first big hits his channel had. So yeah, the Ouya helped launch Call Me Kevin! Can’t hate it after that. (Can hate its lying CEO, but not it.)

II. A video on how turnips are not to be trusted because they commit tax evasion! . . .no, seriously, there’s a game out there called Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, and that’s what he played today. Though there’s less tax evasion than you might think – it’s actually a fetch quest puzzle game set in a world of sentient vegetables and fruit! That is – well. Nuclear radiation played a part in making this adorable, demented world where you fight snails with a soil sword happen, let’s just say. It’s weird and its puzzley and I quite enjoyed watching Kevin play it. Good stuff. XD

B) Then it was time for more GrayStillPlays and Happy Wheels! Some fun boards today, for a certain definition of the word. XD Falling to your death through every obstacle known to man (including balls, spikes, jets, and sai butterflies); navigating an obstacle course with multiple paths and even more ways to DIE (Gray was smashed by boosts into walls, wrecking balls, cannons, and all sorts of other nonsense soooo many times); a short bottle run with a bit of smashy murder at the end (you know, as a palate cleanser), and then a “space escape” pogo obstacle board where just getting onto level 2 is kind of a pain in the ass (Gray briefly ended up pushing Santa and a hobo with an axe along the bottom floor via a katana stuck up Pogo Guy’s ass. I am NOT even joking). You know people are getting serious about making him suffer when he can only do like four boards an episode. :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got my friend’s gift fic AND all three installments of the Wednesday Newcrest Adventures update in the queue for Victor Luvs Alice! So that’s nice. :) And I know what I want to do for Thursday and Friday as well, so it’s just a matter of coming up with something for Saturday now. . .

I was actually quite pleased to get all of the posts for Wednesday sorted -- feels good to be at least a little ahead of the game! :) And now I just have to finish answering DW comments and head to bed. We'll see if work gets any better or worse tomorrow! Though at least they did confirm half-day Fridays, so I just have to get through this one last full week. . . Night all!
