crossover_chick: a vampire version of Alice Liddell and a human Victor Van Dort kissing (SIMS: Vamp!Alice and Victor Smooches)

Though I got enough done, both at work and at home --

Work – VERY quiet day – I sent off my continued grievances against the credit card company to my supervisor, and spent most of the day looking up people with lapsed online pledges. Definitely not the most exciting of shifts, but at least I wasn’t juggling ten million problems at once?

Beanbags – Nope – we went from cool and rainy to hot and humid this afternoon, and the air was already super-thick by the time I got out of work. Not to mention the sunshine was looking iffy at times. . .basically we are all trapped indoors by a wet, icky summer, meeeh. :(

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check! About thirty-seven minutes on the treadmill today, watching The English Simmer’s latest “pack ranking” video on Tiermaker to see what she likes and doesn’t like. She’s actually a real fan of Eco Lifestyle, but hates Cats & Dogs (except for Brindleton Bay itself). Vampires is a top pack for her, Realm of Magic less so, but she’s more keen on Island Living than most people! (Though she agrees mermaids were done dirty.) And she’s not fond of Cool Kitchen because she’s one of those who doesn’t actually like the kitchen set and feels like Sims obsess over ice cream too much. It’s interesting stuff, to see what she favors in a pack and what she doesn’t – and, again, makes me really want to start spicing up my own gameplay. Not this weekend, this weekend I’m building, but still. XD

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Alice has found Controlled Substances (partly thanks to me looking up a walkthrough on “Bloody Mess,” the quest she’s completing right now, to get a better feel for what the upstairs of the clinic looks like), successfully distracted the guard by making him laugh with Dementation, and has managed to pick the lock on the door – only for the Insane Child Leader to point out the security camera above. Something Alice can’t hide from if she’s opening up cabinets. Welp, time to figure out how to turn that sucker off before she proceeds! Always something, huh, Alice?

Also on the vampire theme, I recently had a revelation about my eventual Bloodlines-themed vampire challenge for Sims 4 -- namely, it might be easier if I did it like the Sim in question (in this case Alice) was more like the protagonist of the currently-on-indefinite-hiatus SEQUEL. You know, the Thin-Blood who eventually "levels up" into a full vampire? This fits a lot better with the whole "leveling up" aspect of Sims 4 vampirism, and a couple of THEIR disciplines fit perfectly with the powers available. . . I'll get it to come together eventually!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Three in, three out, nice and easy –

A) Started as per usual with James Turner and the latest of the Cottage Living Early Access LP, with Chaz getting settled into his new barn home! Most of the episode was getting the lot cleared out for his chickens, his plants, and – once he’d sold a bunch of produce and figured out where to stick the animal shed – his new cow! James constantly insisted on spending all his money on fences, but fortunately his golden hen Henrietta is consistently producing golden eggs, which sell for a fair bit down in the Finchwick market. Chaz also still has some nightly mushrooms to profit by, along with all his fruits and veggies. And James has gone ahead and put him back on the grid, because dealing with stuff like having no power and no water was starting to annoy him. XD I’m sure Chaz is grateful, even if his “house” is just one big empty room at the bottom and the world’s saddest loft bedroom at the top. :P So yeah, it’s not perfect yet, but it’s starting to come together – hopefully with more time to bond with his animals and collect their yields, he’ll be able to start making the REAL money and get his house and his life sorted in time to meet Hazel!

B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin and Falafel Restaurant Simulator! Yes, really – it’s one of THOSE games. You know the type – Unity assets thrown together willy-nilly with all sorts of weirdness resulting. Like red thunderous skies and nights so black you think you’re in a horror game. But no, it’s worse – you’re in a capitalism game and you don’t know the controls! Kevin certainly didn’t, anyway – it took him like five minutes to figure out the inventory button and actually place the fryer that let him serve up falafel! Not to mention places for all of the many clones populating the city to sit. . . I think he ended up having more fun trying to toss bags of garbage where they shouldn’t go and getting himself stuck on his scooter in the garbage truck than he did trying to serve customers. He tried turning to Discord to figure out what to do when he couldn’t find his freshly-bought hummus, but nobody was willing to respond, so he just gave up and uninstalled. XD Probably for the best – falafel doesn’t look all that appetizing, to be honest.

C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays, who was torturing Minecraft again – this time instead of adding zeroes, he was deleting world. As in all around him slowly-increasing chunks of the earth were being winked out of existence. In the first few minutes he fell down a chasm and out of the world. XD The rest of the episode was basically a desperate race against time and holes as he looted the nearby convenient village, found that falling into water could save his life if needs be, went on a frantic search for super-ore to get the fat loot, scrambled across the Nether as it broke apart around him, swam through the ocean to try and find the portal, and entered The End only to find the Ender Dragon’s perch had been snapped out of existence, as had most of the floor. XD He eventually had to resort to a leaping attack with a buffed sword to kill her, and that led to him, of course, falling out of whatever world was left. XD Also there was a competition with a bunch of animals to see who could last the longest without falling out of a pen – a donkey won, so I’m looking forward to donkeys being buffed to hell and back! XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check! Remembered to reset the queue to one per day, yay – and I got up a new Song Saturday, featuring a favorite remix of mine: “Gasoline Believer.” It’s a pretty awesome blend of the two songs, and makes me think of the post-apocalypse version of my power couple, so. . . :) Good to have it up there!

And now I have to finish answering my DW comments and get to bed before I spend all night trying to figure out how to assign the Sims 4 vampire powers to the Disciplines available in Bloodlines 1 & 2. *facepalm* Come on, brain, work with me here. . .or at least hold off until the weekend! *shakehead* Why am I wired like this. . .Night all!
