crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)

Seriously -- I have a reasonably decent rest of the week, then today ends up being irritating in a bunch of different little ways. Like, take the weather. Today was supposed to be sunny and fairly warm, with a chance of a "passing shower" in the afternoon.

So, okay, “passing shower” today meant “it’s literally going to rain RIGHT OVER YOUR HOUSE OUT OF A SUNNY SKY.” Like, that is exactly what happened. Around 2:30ish I hear a sound that sounds like rain, which confuses me as it’s bright sunshine outside – and I look out and it’s raining, but it only seems to be raining ON OUR FRONT LAWN. I am completely fucking BAFFLED, close my windows, and go around to the back – yeah, it’s raining (or at least just started raining) there too. I can see the edges of a dark cloud over us and realize that, for whatever reason, it has chosen to rain right on top of our house. The fuck. It passed on and over in less than ten minutes, but what the HELL.

And then, of course, we had a passing thunderstorm this afternoon – lingered for a little under an hour, as they do. *sigh* My mom told me that apparently we’ve had a maximum of four days so far this July where it hasn’t rained at least once. I can believe it, depressing as that is. And it makes me wonder just how nice tomorrow is going to bed -- I mean, they're already saying rain for Sunday, but I don't know if I can really trust Saturday either. . .

As for my standard updates --

Work – Well, I can’t say it wasn’t still mostly quiet, but the credit card people finally e-mailed us back, and I had to check their work, and of course some things weren’t fixed correctly. . .not to mention a last-minute call from a donor trying to update their payment method where I had to use work-arounds to try and do so because my USUAL update method was throwing up an error. . .got it fixed so it would work over the weekend, but I’ll have to take another look at it on Monday. *grumbles*

Oh, and I got my first official car insurance bill, and it was $70 higher than I thought it was going to be. Because if you don't sign up for autopay, apparently they change the schedule and you pay on a different billing cycle that's shorter than usual, meaning you pay more at a time. That would have been fucking nice to know when I got the quote. *grumps* I'll pay it, I've got no choice, but I'm definitely not recommending the company to anyone. Not without saying "make DAMN sure the person giving you the quote knows your preferred payment method."

Beanbags – Yeah, this came back today, even with the rain shower! Mostly because the shower was brief enough that everything dried right back out, and there was a bright sunny patch between that and the thunderstorm. We played five games, as per usual when I don’t have a full day of work – ending scores were me 2-2-W-2-3; Dad W-W-2-W-2, and Mom 3-3-3-3-W. I want it known that I somehow got second in the first game despite throwing so badly I got nothing on the board the first two throws – Mom just started doing her “I’m frustrated so I’m just gonna chuck ‘em” thing, allowing me to come back. But yeah, we all won one, so that’s good in the end.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Not today, sadly – the thunderstorm ended around the time that I would normally go down, but I wanted to finish the Plumbella video that I was in the middle of watching, and I didn’t quite trust the weather, either. Last thing I want to do is get all hot and sweaty and not be able to take a shower! Maybe tomorrow, but as it’s a cleaning Saturday, I’m not holding my breath.

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Finished up Victor’s section, with him getting his first taste of Alice’s vitae (now prefaced with Alice actually getting as close to consent as she can get, because I felt that was a bit more in-character for her), then getting Demented into thinking he’s home and can go to sleep (because Alice is trying to play mysterious good Samaritan and not get him in trouble with the Masquerade). Now we swap back to Alice for the rest of the fic (except the VERY end), with only occasional references to Victor. *waves* Bye honey! See you Downtown!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions and get the Plumbella out of the Watch Later: Two-thirds check, I’d say – I managed to clear out Subs, but I wasn’t able to watch all the Plumbella I was hoping to thanks to the weather. But I got a FEW videos out, so that’s not nothing.

A) Started with Plumbella, watching what I could around that damn thunderstorm:

I. “building Agnes Crumplebottom the perfect house so she'll love me” – a speed build of a house inspired by Agnes’s tragic backstory (at least of The Sims 3, where she was a playable Sim and had recently lost her husband before they could have a child) – it’s a cute little cottagecore build with bed and bath upstairs, living and dining downstairs, and a big old chicken shed in the garden, along with a bench. . .and a gravestone. Because Plumbella WANTED to make her a nice house where she and her husband could have started thinking about a family, but she couldn’t resist going a bit dark. It’s a cute little build, though! I’m sure some Sim will be able to make good use of it, even if Agnes probably thinks it holds too many bad memories from the other timeline.

II. “Cottage Living actually has family gameplay and it's cute???” – back to the Early Access LP, and I’m here to tell you that title is a complete misnomer. While Daisy, Jesse McCowTippin’s child, did grow up to a toddler today, and did demonstrate that toddlers can interact with the farm animals (babbling to them and petting them – they’ll actually go ahead and straight up hug chickens), most of the episode was Plumbella ignoring the baby (and Jesse’s needs) to go propose to Michael Bell, Creature Keeper, and then do all his errands. Such as giving him a bunch of blueberries, talking to two rabbits. . .and making the mushroom mash. XD I do love that side-quest, because you can give it SUCH the side-eye. XD But yeah, she managed to complete all of Michael’s initial errands this episode – we’ll see if and when she manages to get to the others in the future! I’m really hoping she takes Kim’s because – well, she did just propose to the Creature Keeper. . .

B) Then before supper we had the latest Fun With Shorts – “How to Get Cooperation!” Your average Coronet film about an unpleasant mock-teenager who learns an important lesson in how not being an overly-excitable douchebag will actually get you farther with people than your usual methods. :p In this case, getting them to actually join up with a “projector operator’s club” instead of sneering in your face. Standard Josh fare, but always fun!

C) Then AFTER supper we started with James Turner and the latest from Cottage Living and Chaz Ricks! Chaz’s life is basically a never-ending cycle of “tend the animals, get milk, wool, and eggs, sell same at market, maybe do some other stuff, collapse into bed, repeat,” poor guy. XD Though he has started doing a few more errands for the Sims around town (notably the Creature Keeper), and he has managed to get enough money to buy a new coop, and a new chicken – and turn it EVIL with a midnight treat. XD Though for an evil chicken, it’s very friendly – willing to help keep away foxes, vampires, and even the Grim Reaper! Which is good, because Grim has been taking away quite a few of the other chickens as they age up and die. We have a new rooster, and Chaz has been incubating eggs, but it’s a slow process to refill the coop! Also, Chaz has a bike now to help get around faster, and it glitched out in a rather – INTERESTING way when James tried to stop him leaving the lot when he was about to pee to talk to a rabbit. As in Chaz was kind of stuttering around, bike clamped firmly between his legs, unable to actually interact with anything. *shakehead* Gotta love Sims! But yeah, things are getting to the point where Chaz needs help, and James isn’t sure if he’s ready to bring Hazel into this LP yet. . .we’ll see what the comments suggest! (Mostly “bring his half-brother Trenton in!” which makes sense to me).

D) Then it was onto Call Me Kevin and more Bitlife! Today we had the life of Godfather Sopranos, who, as you might imagine, went into organized crime! After a childhood of petty thievery, pickpocketing, and car theft, Godfather eventually joined up with the Maunder family, exhorting various places for cash, stealing a lot of cars, helping on the occasional hit, and – well, going to jail a lot. And not getting much respect for any of it – 25 years in the business, in and out of jail for most of it, and he never got promoted. Meanwhile, one of his other associates, Manky Tom, became a soldier, THEN was revealed as a rat and got away with it! (For a while, anyway – we later got a notification that he’d been mummified.) It got so bad that Godfather broke away from the Maunders (after killing their leader) and fled the country for Zimbabwe – then realized he couldn’t do anything there and came back, only to be arrested. He escaped and instead fled to Russia, where he got into politics and served a very successful term as Mayor of St. Petersburg! Then like a chump he went back to the US, got arrested, and had to escape AGAIN (both prison and his angry former associates), went to Kazakhstan, and ended up dying when a magician trying to kidnap a child shot him in the rump with a Gatling gun. ...Good life! XD

E) And finally we had GrayStillPlays with more GTA V stunt boards! Today’s board started out on the highway, and involved climbing all over the awkward roofs of a gas station AND a prison before going into the sky to do giant loop-de-loops, awkward platform transfers, painful wall rides, and painful and awkward ramp transfers (that last REALLY took a lot out of Gray, let me tell you). But it was all worth it to knock over a bunch of bowling balls and then launch Florida Man straight at the face of the Goddamn Batman himself. :p Ahhh, suffering – no one does it better.

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – Victor Luvs Alice is fine, so I just had to do Valice Multiverse – three asks, one thread reply. Nothing too horrible.

So that's all set. Now I'm expected at Friday Night Writing Thing, so let me just wrap up here with tomorrow's to-do list:

1. Clean my room

2. Clear some stuff out of the Watch Later and keep up on YouTube Subs

3. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again"

. . .you know what, I don't know what video game I'm going to play tomorrow, or even if I'll have time, so I'm just gonna leave it at that, and we'll see what else I can manage, if anything. *sigh* Sorry to be such a sourpuss, I'm just -- yeah. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Night all!
