I am blaming this entirely on Ed Sheeran, who released another absolutely bonkers music video for his song "Shivers" which -- as I said in my comment, he has gone from "Sabbat Toreador" to "Ginger Elton John." XD It's a great video, though, and I genuinely like the song. :D I think I have my next Song Saturday all wrapped up!

Anyway, let's have the to-do list for this much drier and more fall-like Friday:

Work – Reasonably quiet day – on multiple levels, my chattiest coworker was out. Did the GL, fixed some people’s pledges, did some obits, stuff like that. Nothing particularly special!

Beanbags – Nice (if windy) day lead to another three rounds, and again, very equitable – I got W-3-3; Dad 2-2-W; and Mom 3-W-2. Not too shabby, though that first game was pretty close (we were all throwing a bit off – I was just that much more on the ball than my parents!).

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, but not back with Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough today! I was honestly planning on taking today off from the workout, and was pleased that I’d gotten straight to the end of an episode to cap it off – but then Mom revealed her plans for the grout in the bathtub tomorrow (gotta be done if we don’t want that leak to come back), and I had to change my plans to accommodate the fact that I won’t be able to take a shower tomorrow. So I decided to take a quick break from Jon and watch a couple of other things instead:

I. A video from MatPat the Game Theorist about the secrets behind Power Wash Simulator – you know, that game where you’re washing all the things? Apparently this town is located surprisingly near a VOLCANO, which Markpilier noticed in his own LP and asked MatPat to look into it. MatPat dug past the “supernatural happenings” fakeouts in the game and determined that the game takes place in Oregon, in a town near Mt. Hood, a volcano that just so happens to be on the same line as the infamous Mt. St. Helens and thus is an eruption risk of rather major proportions. MatPat thinks the thing is in the middle of sending out a bunch of smoke and ash in a lesser kind of eruption that doesn’t involve the fancy lava flows, and that’s what you’re power-washing off everything. . .only that’s a BAD thing as volcanic ash is non-soluble and thus you’re gonna be washing it into the drains where it can cause burst pipes and whatnot. Also the volcano is probably going to erupt and kill everyone in the near future. Cheery show, this!

II. A quick video from SimmerErin covering something I saw on SimsCommunity recently – apparently Turbodriver, the modder behind Wicked Whims and Wonderful Whims, spotted some code in the recent patch that seems to hint that preferences for clothing will be coming officially to The Sims 4! I say “officially” because I am aware of a mod that already does this, but it is an interesting development!

So yeah, that was that for this workout. Ready to start fresh with Miss Jon chasing a courser on Sunday!

2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check – Alice has gotten the ax down the back of her jacket and has made it into the upper levels of the hotel, exploring the rooms and looking for that necklace! So far all she’s found is the Scarlet Torkelson book and one angry ghost. But she’s on the right track, and it’s not going to be long now before she makes it to Dorothy and Ed’s old suite. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – four in, four out today! Nice and simple!

A) Started with the latest Fun With Shorts – “People Are Different and Alike,” a short film about tolerance and how everyone is special. Featuring quotes from mumbling children with terrible audio put over some dull parade footage. Macy’s Thanksgiving this ain’t – good thing we had Josh to take the mickey out of it!

B) Then it was onto the latest from James Turner – “I played Journey to Batuu 1 year later…” Yup, the pack that basically only he likes and even he’s like “this is pretty lame” makes a reappearance on his channel, thanks to it being (just after) the one year anniversary of its release! After a brief detour to play the Batuu version of SimsGuessr (yes, he’s added it as a location), he went ahead and tried to return to his old save file with Alternate Universe Trash – only to find it was extremely bugged, in that he couldn’t even finish missions and at one point he mysteriously lost all his credits so he couldn’t buy anything either. At least Trash still has her droid companion? I mean, you gotta admit, when the pack’s biggest fan is forced to admit that there’s not really anything you can do around the world if you’re not participating in the missions, you know that a pack is bad. (James picked out the main problem in that too many of the locations are empty shell rabbit holes – more actual builds, please! But I guess that would be asking too much of the Sims 4 team, which can’t even add nails without somehow messing up their clothing swatches. . .)

C) From there we moved onto Call Me Kevin and Stardew Valley! With a twist – Kevin’s character, Hermit, is trapped on his farm, Lonerland! Yeah, the name of the game is to just live on your farm and never actually go into town – Kevin even helped sell the illusion by choosing the “beach farm” and pretending his character was stranded on an island. He puttered along with parsnips and mixed seeds for a while, but then struck on the idea of selling the random crap in his inventory and found that his wood sold for two gold apiece – and so began the career of Hermit the Lumberjack! Who cleared out a frightening number of trees in just a few days around his little farm. To the point where he pivoted into becoming Hermit the Stonesmith near the end for an alternate revenue stream. XD But he did very well for himself all out on his own – the only human he ever saw was Marnie, who only came by to drop off a cat who spent most of its time sleeping in the sand, away from Hermit. XD A curious little challenge, but I’m interested to see just how long Kevin could pull it off!

D) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! Today we featured such levels as one of those “we know you way too well at this point Gray” bottle flips – only the first “bottle” was an ASSAULT RIFLE (which he got in Florida Man – he also got his arm on MLG son during a part where he exploded, and slid one into “Gray Will Find A Way”); a battle through Ultimate Fight Club (where characters armed with various sharp things come at Bike Dad at a million miles per hour – fortunately Bike Dad’s groin is made of steel and can absorb many blades); a tricky “can you stop in time to avoid impalement” level (answer is yes, though it takes many tries and Pogo Man abandoning both his pogo stick and his arms); an “impossible” spike fall with a harpoon at the end (third time’s the charm!); a short glass-and-bottle break that launches you into a harpoon run AFTER you win (Gray was like “the post-game section is longer than the actual board!”); an “escape the box before you get smashed by the wrecking ball” challenge (took a few tries, but then Gray got a lucky yeet from the ball itself after smashing the side); a pineapple flip (which is apparently much harder than your average bottle flip); a trip in the Yeetmobile (which crashed the game with its yeet fury); a “Donda” run (a bottle run only over blocks reading “Donda” – also you had to go UP at one point, which kept chunking Gray until he found the right speed to hit the boosts at); and a Venom rope swing that proved surprisingly difficult (Gray finished with one arm, and I’m not sure if he likes Tom Hardy anymore). Delightful, as per usual. :)

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – after yesterday, when I discovered that there was no replies or asks for me to worry about this evening on Valice Multiverse, I went “night off” and just found one cute bit of pixel art of Preston Garvey to reblog for the hell of it. Hey, I do have Fallout Of Darkness as an RP verse over there, I’m allowed!

Okay, not too shabby. I DO have the Friday Night Writing Thing tonight, though, so I'd best wrap up now and get to that. For my non-cleaning Saturday:

1. Work some more on the Fallout 4 Sims Challenge

2. Catch up on something from the Watch Later and keep up with YouTube Subs

3. Play Sims 4 and take Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker on a SimCity Founding spa day

. . .and you know what, that's it. Normally I'd have "get in a workout" or something like that, but I can't tomorrow because of grouting, and I'd like a relatively low-pressure Saturday. Besides, I've got plenty in the Watch Later to keep me busy with item 2. :p Night all!
