Late Again

crossover_chickThis time because one of my tumblr friends and I were figuring out how to stat Victor as a ghoul in Vampire: the Masquerade V5 together, and -- yeah, I probably got too into figuring out Attributes and Skills for my own good. XD So yeah, let's have the usual round-up --
Work – Much quieter day – chatty coworker was out again (getting somewhat concerned because, well, you know), and most of the day was duplicates, obits, and a few gifts I’ve been waiting on. Also credit card company screwed up again, but when is that new? *sigh*
Beanbags – Yes, with marginally less gnats and somewhat different scores – I got W-2-3; Dad 2-W-W, and Mom 3-3-2. Not Mom’s day, sadly, but there will be other chances!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – finished off Episode 2 of “A Spot of Bother” while riding the bike! The episode ended with a big fight scene with the eight cursed pirates who were trying to kill Corazon – Curly Joe and Jack Crackson in the boathouse where the gang had tried to lock them in, trying to be distracting, and three on each side of the boathouse, confronting the various members of the Oxventure team. How did everyone do?
Dob: Freaking shining star of the fight – I’ve already mentioned his “power cord on the lute” cast of Thunderwave to fry two of the pirates against him and Prudence, and then he successfully backflipped off to the other side of the boathouse to help Merilwen and Egbert by just MINCING another pirate with his rapier, before swimming into the boathouse itself to skewer Jack Crackson from behind (though not killing him). Amazing.
Prudence: Cthulhu didn’t QUITE let her down, but her attempts to kill the sole remaining pirate on her side via Eldritch Blast were not as effective as she would have liked (aka she kept rolling 4s for damage). Perhaps she was held back by her jealousy over Dob’s electric death wave. XD She did make that pirate regret his life choices, though, and ended up finishing him off with her stiletto knife.
Corazon: Kept Curly Joe talking as long as he could, but eventually the fight became too loud to miss, and he agreed to actually fight him – and Jack, who he had forgotten about. Corazon was the only one to actually get hurt – he kicked the door open on Curly and manged to get in a few good blows of his own with a hand-crossbow and his own rapier, but Curly landed a hit on him too (just minor, 2 damage). At least Jack Crackson didn’t get him in the head with HIS crossbow!
Merilwen: Got an arrow into someone’s shoulder, then decided to spend a couple of rounds calling out to any aquatic life in the area, which resulted in one pirate getting dragged under by sharks and another getting face-hugged by a Humboldt squid. She also made contact with a whale who couldn’t come in because shallow water – REMEMBER THAT WHALE.
Egbert: Held back at first because of rolling the lowest initiative (the PIRATES got to act before him!), but eventually joined the fight with a homemade bomb that, unfortunately, got tossed into the ocean and fizzled. He was very well-protected from all the incoming arrows and whatnot, though, and was able to make up for the bomb by using his Flamebreath to reduce Curly Joe and Jack Crackson to ash (and also set the boathouse on fire). Dragonborn, remember?
So yeah, in the end, the gang had the day. . .but on the horizon, Corazon’s old ship, the Joyful Damnation, has appeared, and – well, it’s bringing more pirates to kill them. But I think I know exactly what’s coming up in Episode 3. . . :D
2. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again": Check – Victor and Alice have had their big emotional moment over Mr. Bunny, with Victor telling Alice that he was more than happy to track him down, given that Alice has made his Season the best it’s ever been – and Alice responding by giving him a big hug and telling him that he’s made her life much better too. Abigail is disgusted with all these soft feelings. XD This has wrapped up Chapter 5 – it’s now onto Chapter 6, where Victor sadly informs Alice he’s leaving London, and she makes a joke that he should come visit her in Wonderland. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – very easy to keep up with Subs today (what with only one upload – no James Turner or GrayStillPlays), so I turned to the Watch Later first. . .
A), Started with a mini-marathon of Plumbella videos –
I. “Judging Sims solely on their level of toxicity x” – a silly video about deciding whether certain Sims across the series were “pure” (babies), “??? ok” (just kinda there), “try again sweaty” (trying too hard to be toxic), “taste of your lips I’m on a riiiide” (actually toxic), or “so true bestie!” (toxic but in a fun way that makes them iconic). Notable rankings included her finding some adorable shippy fanart of Pascal Curious and Nervous Subject from Sims 2 and instantly chucking it and them into the “pure” category; making Sims 2 Bella Goth “pure” but Sims 2 Mortimer Goth “taste of your lips I’m on a riiiide” toxic; ranking the Caliente sisters (Dina and Nina) and Don Lothario from BOTH Sims 2 and Sims 4 separately (the Calientes and Don of Sims 2 made “so true bestie!” for being iconic Pleasantview “villains,” while the Calientes of Sims 4 got regulated to “??? ok” and the Don of Sims 4 into the plain old toxic category); and shoving the Sims 4 20th anniversary hot tub into “taste of your lips I’m on a riiiide” and blaming it as the reason she doesn’t like her glasses (as she was at the optician’s when it dropped as their present to the community). XD Love basically purely-goofy content like this – and she’s talking of making “ranking Sims by [x]” into a series, so that’ll be fun!
II. “So, the new Kits are out…” – kinda self-explanatory, a look at the two newest CAS Kits to hit the game – Fashion Street (Indian-themed outfits and accessories) and Incheon Arrivals (Japan-themed outfits and accessories, apparently specifically based around this one big international airport that kind of inspired a specific fashion style?) Plumbella was actually quite impressed with them, especially with the variety of swatches for all the clothing items, and the fact that they were all actually quite cohesive and whatnot! She’s still not totally sold on the idea of Kits in general, but she thinks an effort was made with these. Personally, I think the clothes look nice, but I have drawn my line in the sand – Kits are cash grabs and I Will Not.
III. “the sims 3 store vs the sims 4 kits: are they glorified cash grabs?” – speaking of which. . . Plumbella did a little review on the Sims 3 Store vs Sims 4 Kits – she likes the idea of both of them, feeling like the Store offered some great actual gameplay items (like a special playpen, or a chicken coop, or even new worlds to play in – and I will admit, the ONLY time I was genuinely tempted by Sims 3 was when I learned about the “Dragon Valley” world) and Kits have good marketing and some interesting ideas, but she hates that the Store’s advertising is EVERYWHERE in-game, and that Kits seem to be taking over from bigger packs (specifically, she feels like they muscled out Stuff Packs the moment those got good with Paranormal). So they’re both cash grabs with good points and bad points. As stated before, I have my line in the sand, and Kits are on the other side, thank you.
B) And then it was into the Subs for the only video there today – Call Me Kevin returning to the world of Fallout 4 to play a bit more as Dad The Pacifist! First order of business – get out of the store where the Deathclaw had him trapped in Concord. :p Fortunately Preston and Piper were able to take out the Deathclaw eventually – Dad happily insulted the shit out of poor Preston and Mama Murphy in response. He did take them to Sanctuary, but decided to ignore them for the rest of the game because they do violence, and instead went over to Diamond City to pick up the quest to find Nick (for a boatload of money because he has max Charisma)! Also to sell a bunch of guns, pick up a bunch of drugs, and level up with all the “pacify” and “animal friend” perks, since, you know, pacifist. Then it was into Park Street Station (after a close encounter with some ghouls and Swann), where – well, “pacifying” people SOMETIMES worked. XD But Dad died a lot, both on the way to get Nick (even when he decided to just do all the drugs and sprint past everybody) and on the way out of the Vault (mostly by pacifying people at bad times and inciting violence between Darla and Skinny Malone). EVENTUALLY he finally figured out where he needed to run to get away from Skinny before he finished his count to 10 (after convincing Darla to go home to her family and getting her gunned down by Skinny’s gang) and immediately fast-traveled back to Diamond City to drown his sorrows. . .
And got wrapped up in “Confidence Man.” You know, the quest that involves helping Travis win a staged bar fight and then help him rescue Vadim from the raiders who kidnapped him. Perfect for a pacifist! XD Dad let Travis handle the whole fight on his own (hell, he TRADED with Vadim during it), then threatened Scarlet into spending time with Travis, before berating him after learning about the kidnapping and letting him and Piper do all the work in taking down the gang. And then telling Vadim he’s an idiot (which – is kinda fair) and Travis he was sick of his attitude. Dude, I think Piper’s gonna leave your ass soon, which, given you NEED someone to keep an eye on it. . . Anyway, things wrapped up with him going to reunite with Nick Valentine and actually continue the main plot a bit, so hopefully we’ll see another episode of Dad The Horrible Asshole Pacifist. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – with Victor Luvs Alice done, I just had to take care of Valice Multiverse – which only had one ask reply. Given my distraction with trying to stat out Victor, this is just fine by me. XD
Not a bad night -- just wish the latest episode of UK Taskmaster had uploaded onto YouTube, but hopefully tomorrow! As it stands, I do still have one day of work, so night all!
