Yup, between the heavy winds and the steady snow, we have officially gone through a blizzard here in RI! And we've got about a foot or so out there, more in the drifts that the wind whipped up. Somehow even our bird feeder (with the top on) is full of snow. O.o It's a depressingly white winter wonderland out there, bleh. And tomorrow and Monday are supposed to be pretty damn cold. . .and then we're supposed to get up to 50 or so on Thursday with rain. So THAT'LL be interesting. *shakehead* New England weather. . .

On the plus side, though, we were all safe inside for the duration, and the power never went out despite the lights occasionally blinking a bit. So I was able to get through my to-do list without issue:

1. Clean my room and do the monthly laundry: Check – again, thanks to a lack of dust in my room, the room clean itself went pretty quickly – started at 10:45 AM, finished by 1 PM, just in time for lunch! Laundry took longer, as it always does, but I had my blankets back by 3:30 PM and the rest of it by 5:30 PM (mostly because I was doing other stuff while waiting for the laundry to finish – see below for examples). All done for another fortnight, yay!

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs (including the Wyrd Sisters Podcast), see about watching the latest AT4W in the Watch Later: Check – very glad no power outages so I could take care of all of this today –

A) Started with the Wintersmith podcast from Wyrd Sisters Podcast with today’s mandated hot chocolate and biscotti snack – covering the third book of the Tiffany Aching subseries, where Tiffany accidentally gets the attention of the personification of Winter by joining in the Dark Morris Dance welcoming in that change of season, and having to deal with that and fending off him trying to romance her via way of eternal winter while also dealing with having to teach rival Anagramma about witchcraft because she’s taken over the cottage of a recently-deceased elderly witch and is – struggling, to put it mildly. (Mostly because her own teacher was more the “mystical” type instead of the practical one. . .) And also Roland gets to play hero and rescue Summer from the Underworld and beat up thought-stealing monsters with an imaginary sword as a badass. :D I remember this being my favorite of the Tiffany books – while Manning and Liz thought that the Anagramma and Wintersmith stuff could have been split up into two distinct books, both plots were handled pretty well, and the Wintersmith subplot was a good premature clapback against creepy supernatural romance, which is great. XD Just a shame that my love of how Roland was handled in THIS book means that I’m gonna have Opinions when we get to the next Tiffany book. . .fortunately, first up is Moist again, and I always love him. XD

B) Then, this evening, we had the latest AT4W – “Batman: The Killing Joke Adaptation!” The animated adaptation of that story where Barbara Gordon got shot and paralyzed so the Joker could drive her father and possibly Batman insane to prove the point that all it takes is “one bad day” to make someone like him. Now with an entire second plot tacked onto the beginning where Barbara is creeped on by the nephew of some major gangster, is accused of being Batgirl for the thrill and the violence by Batman, has sex with Batman on a rooftop randomly after they fight, and then beats the creepazoid to within an inch of his life and decides Batman was right and gives up being Batgirl. NONE OF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL COMIC BEING ADAPTED. *heavy sigh* Linkara was pretty well disgusted with the whole thing, and I do not blame him. I didn’t know about the creepy sexual elements in the comic (both Barbara and Jim are stripped naked by the Joker because reasons), and it’s just so off-putting and terrible. Ugh – kind of thing that makes you want a shower. Yuck. Poor Linkara, putting himself through this for Patreon money. *pats him* At least his critiques and jokes made it all a lot more bearable.

C) Whew – needed a palate cleanser after that one. How about some cake and ice cream while watching Call Me Kevin play some more Sims 4? Where he decides to complete the 100 Baby Challenge by continually impregnating Jim Pickens with alien triplets via MC Command Center, and then making him instantly in labor? Going around moving in with a few different families, leaving them with his spawn (well, mostly – one family lucked out when Jim got annoyed with the babies crying over his guitar performance and sent them back to Sixam) before returning to his original house and just FILLING it with babies? Only ONE of which has actually been taken away so far? Also impregnating Turg along the way just because he could? And doing one pregnancy where it was Turg’s children, I believe called “Turg 2,” “2 Turg,” “2 furious?” And even having a musical montage to get through some of the later pregnancies, with a parody of “2000 Miles” by the Pretenders? Before discovering Jim couldn’t even leave his current household because all the babies he’d fathered wouldn’t let him? That’s wholesome, right? Right? Right? . . .look, I wouldn’t know wholesome if it bit me; my comment after watching all that was “I wanna see if you can sell the babies in a retail store.” (BLAME SPIFF, his video about keeping women permanently pregnant to sell the bassinets that spawned into existence around them put the idea in my head!)

D) And then, of course, we ended on GrayStillPlays and Plague Inc.: Evolved, where he decided to create a literal happiness plague with the disease “Happy You To Death!” It started with a dopamine boost, then slowly evolved to give sufferers the ability to turn their necks like owls, headaches that lead to intense joy, and made them so sensitive to light that exposure killed them! And if that didn’t do the trick, then they could become so happy their hearts exploded. XD Oooh, but that wasn’t the end, because it turns out this virus is capable of RAISING THE DEAD. Creating “Smilers” (yes, I DID think of my new favorite roller coaster!) that can rotate their heads like Regan in The Exorcist and unlive to infect people with hugs and wiping off their faces in favor of smiles. It took a little while – Sweden proved a tough nut to crack, even briefly managing to set up a zombie defense force, and of course getting zombies into Madagascar was kind of a pain in the ass – but eventually Gray was able to either kill or zombify the whole world. Now that is a killing joke. ;)

3. Play Sims 4 and work on my next build for a while: Check – after taking a moment to clear out my mods, make copies of my latest saves, update “Wonderful Whims,” update my game, then put my mods back in, I hopped into my building save and started doing some Unpacking rooms from the final level! Quite literally – as I’m still not able to find some shots of the actual floor plan, I’m doing quick approximations room by room (as obviously there’s a lot of stuff I can’t get exact – the specific type of tub/shower combo they’ve got on the second floor, for example). So far, I’ve got the entrance hall, both bathrooms, the master bedroom with walk-in closet, and the baby’s room, scattered around a lot. This leaves the office, kitchen, dining, and living rooms – hopefully I’ll have a better idea of how they all fit together by the time I come back to it! (I remember that the office connects to the garage, but I can’t picture in my head how it fits against the rest of the house. . .)

4. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again": Check – got Victor and Alice into the Liddell house (which has been thoroughly repaired since the fire – turns out there’s a very active community of builders Downstairs to help repair “dead” buildings and shore up businesses and such), and now they’re in the main sitting room, being greeted by everyone (currently Bonejangles with a handshake, shortly Lorina and Arthur with a big hug). Things continue apace!

Not too shabby! Now it's time to set up what we're doing for our snowed-in Sunday. . .

1. Keep up with the FoD Playthrough Progression; Free Writing Day otherwise

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, the OXtra "Show of the Weekend" in the WL, and Jon's latest F:NV "Utter Chaos" video

3. Play Fallout 4, swap Codsworth for Preston, and clear out Starlight Drive-In

4. Work on tumblr drafts

5. Get in a workout

Should be doable! Especially if I try to get a jump tonight on the screenshots I'll need for my next Chill Save update. . .we'll see how that goes. In the meantime, good night!
