It got up to just about 70 F for a little bit today! Like, seriously! Didn't last that long, but holy crap, the warmth. A shame that it's supposed to PLUMMET overnight -- the wind was already picking up majorly on my drive home -- and then tomorrow's cold, and Friday -- Friday has snow totals that are making me raise my eyebrows. (Potential eight inches if the storm tracks the right way. . .) We'll see how THAT goes too.

For now, though, the round-up:

Work – Well, Chatty Coworker was in a better mood, which meant things were less tense, but the office was noisier – also, she and my other coworker disappeared mid-afternoon just as the phones were heating up to help someone else with something, which was a bit annoying. *grumbles* At any rate, the day started off very slow – obituaries, stuff like that – then got busy in the afternoon with credit card calls, figuring out credit card nonsense, and trying to keep on top of a bunch of things all vying for my attention. *sigh* Not exactly the greatest way to end the day. We’ll see if Thursday is any better – and we’ll see if I have to go in on Friday at all, as apparently snow totals for the end of the week just keep on climbing. . .

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another half-hour with the OxSong Livestream! As predicted, after a few more shout-outs to people donating, they played the music video again, then Mike and Ellen played an official DnD-licensed beat-em-up (Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara to be exact), fighting their way through waves of enemies to save the land of Mystara while Johnny took questions from the audience! I admit, it was kind of hard to concentrate on what Johnny was saying as the game was very distracting (Mike and Ellen died multiple times, with Ellen generally just coming back as an Elf (though she did try a Thief once), while Mike went from Elf, to Dwarf, to Master of Magic), but I did catch that they don’t actually mind being derailed, because it’s fun to see how things play out; that they’re much more comfortable these days with letting the gang do their thing – less hand-holding than in the earliest campaigns; they have played Call of Cthulhu and enjoyed it; and they think their “daemon,” as per His Dark Materials, would be a wild boar, as they have a tattoo of one. Also, Producer Jon ate a banana on camera as a joke. XD Fun times!

2. Edit and post Chapter 4 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check! Got through the last boss fight against the Blood Guardian without issue, and now Chapter 4 is up for your perusal! I look forward to seeing how many typos I missed, Gigs. XD But I hope you all enjoy it – it really is a jam-packed chapter!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – two in, two out –

A) First up, James Turner and the next episode of the Cottage Living “Rags To Riches” LP! Yes, James is basically ignoring My Wedding Stories at this point, as well he should. XD Anyway, four key events happened today in the Ricks/Bigwallet Household:

I. Nina grew up from toddler to child! Her randomized trait was “Lactose-Intolerant” (meaning eating her own honey birthday cake gave her the tummy troubles), and James gave her the “Social Butterfly” aspiration. She also spent a good chunk of the day napping in the play tent before James remembered she needed a proper bed and redid her room so she could, you know, sleep. And then had to redo it again to add the anti-monster light. XD

II. Kim from the Grocery Stall wandered in at 2 freaking AM, going straight to Chaz’s bathroom for a milk bath, then lounging around in the shared bathroom for a mud bath. A very upset James got Chaz to revoke her residence key and start a bit of an argument, and now they have bitter sentiments toward each other. Welp, Kim, you should have thought of that before coming in to take baths in the middle of the night!

III. Hazel had her next Dream Home Decorator gig – a bedroom renovation for Column and Plan Tayne! It actually turned into a double bedroom renovation, as James did both one of the “main” bedrooms (new bed, dresser, mirror, beside tables – you know, making it look like more than just a plain white room) and gussied up Reginald the toddler’s room too (adding windows to his tower, giving him a proper toddler bed, and buying him a modern dollhouse!). Two simoleons over budget, but Column and Plan Tayne didn’t care – Hazel is making their house actually LIVABLE instead of just an interesting-looking shell. XD But yes, very successful gig, yay.

IV. And right after that, Trenton rushed down to the Finchwick Llama fair and entered Llamanade and some excellent quality golden wool! James did everything he could to encourage a win, short of openly bribing the (new – the old ones keep dying on him) mayor – avoiding opening his retail store, avoiding going super speed, having Trenton socialize with everyone. . .

Trenton end up with Second Place. For what, I didn’t see, but – yeah. James was devastated. At least Trenton managed a good New Year’s while he was out and about? *sigh* Welp, time to try and get through a whole week next episode so we can get to Angus’s birthday and the chicken fair! This damn glitched-to-hell game. . .

B) And second, GrayStillPlays with more Happy Wheels! Started with a bottle flip that was harder than normal, because – well, no bouncer. You had to just fling the bottles and pray. XD Anyway, Gray managed to get a bottle stuck in a rotating platform, on the “hard” platform, and then sent one straight into the win, which he was NOT expecting to get. XD From there it was over to Pogo Guy getting bounced up and down in murdery ways in an “astronaut vomitron” (he did eventually fly over to the winning area – where he exploded, but it still counted!); Bike Dad And Tom Hardy versus an unfair number of harpoons (Gray eventually had Bike Dad crawl to the win to avoid the final “fan” of the damn things); a board where you had to spin yourself into a big jump over a wall into a harpoon-protected win (Gray managed to do the splits on the winning area!); the return of GrayZilla as he rampaged over the pyramids and past a pyromaniac (and then exploded a few times trying to get the winning coin); a “heist” rope swing (which he won on the first try with a lucky dodge of the waiting harpoon); a very short “freze wall” board (only three freezes, then a surprise yeeter that didn’t actually kill Gray); a spike fall with two very dangerous wins (one with harpoons and spikes galore, plus beams blocking the win – but if you fell in JUST the right place and nudged the beams. . .and the actual spike fall, which ALSO had beams in it to make things hard, though Gray managed to slide by in the end); a board where you are a green blob eating smaller blobs so you can consume an eight-ball (I – don’t know); an absurdly tough harpoon run where the harpoons are coming from ALL directions, and even the win is heavily harpooned (Gray did his best to just fly over anything he couldn’t speed past, but his eventual win was mostly luck); an invisible rope swing through a bunch of harpoons (Nixon’s head JUST touched the win and managed to get it); and finally a grinder for Gray to throw things into to relieve his feelings (“things” included people, of course XD). Yes, especially deadly harpoons WERE a theme tonight! I like it. XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got the next few days on Victor Luvs Alice all set in the queue! Naturally tomorrow is the link to the latest “Londerland Bloodlines” chapter, then Friday is the final Valice ship meme, and Saturday is a reblog of “Bad Habits” as that felt appropriate. :) Yay, all good!

*nods* Good, productive, keeping on top of things. And now it's time to head to bed to do it all over again tomorrow, only colder. And we'll see what happens with Friday -- I'll call in myself if I have to if the weather is THAT shit, but I'm hoping they take the "preemptive snow day" approach. *fingers crossed* Night all!
