PMSy Tuesday
Mar. 1st, 2022 11:17 pmFeeling a little bitchier than normal, but that's no surprise when I know my period's on its way -- probably this weekend, we'll see. At least I don't have to clean this Saturday. . . Anyway, let me give you the round-up. . .
Work – A little quieter than yesterday, though I had the annoyance of a credit card call interrupting my lunch break, and more credit card processor nonsense regarding who was getting assigned what – fortunately, that seems to be fixed, but as usual, the bigger list of issues has not yet been responded to. . .I know it’s the PMS making it worse, but UGH, I hate our credit card company. Bleeeeh.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, to finish off the OxSong Livestream! Last ten minutes were basically the gang trying the last two drinks (apparently the Dob drink is fouler than Ellen let on, because Ellen just thinks all beer – of which mead is a type – tastes bad anyway, so. . .), reading a few nice comments, cheering as they finally broke $33,000, and then a final replay of the music video, followed by an instrumental version with the lyrics and chords on-screen for people to consult so they could make covers!
And make covers they did, as – after some searching on my part – I was able to find the follow-up OxSong Covers Livestream from the Christmas Season that year! Luke, Andy, and Jane hosted (Mike was in the back helping Producer Jon with the cables, and Ellen was at a lovely ski lodge but did pop into the chat), playing first the original music video for context (and giving a bit of “director’s commentary” for funsies), before moving onto the covers! So far we’ve had a very nice piano cover of the latter half of the song (starting from Corazon and Merilwen’s part) from long-haired Ian, and another fellow who did the very beginning and part of the chorus in the style of a folk song on a very nice acoustic guitar. :) Also, the giving page was still running at the time (they left it up throughout that December – I wanna say 2019? Definitely before COVID), and when I paused, they’d just broken $48,000! :D So that’s awesome. Hoping they break $50K as the video goes on – what a win for Mind. :)
2. Continue editing Chapter 5 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – finished editing, in fact! Alice has finished her conversation with Tung, confirming a meet-up time of 7 PM tomorrow evening to head over to that warehouse, and is now off to see Mercurio and Trip and read her new book on gunplay! Onto the final chapter, where Alice will FINALLY blow something up! Aren’t we all excited. :p
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: As per the “I have to wait to listen to Wyrd Sister Podcast” thing, technical check – got the other three Subs from today watched, plus another bonus video –
A) First up, the latest from Plumbella – “each room is a random number of tiles (but the generator hates me)” Building challenge time, straight from her “ideas for Sims 4 videos” wheel – she got herself a generator, had it pick between 1 and 25 tiles per room, and set about building her house!
. . .she choose the living room as her first room and got 5 tiles. She was fuming. XD She managed to squish in everything she wanted by balancing a TV on a bookcase with moveobjects, and even made it functional enough for a Sim to get in and sit down, but damn. XD And THEN she accidentally paused her recording, so we completely missed her designing the much bigger kitchen and bathroom (hell, the bathroom got 19 tiles). A shame, as both rooms look really good – she went for a plant theme in the bathroom, and it was honestly quite nice! We did get to see her do the bedroom, where she got 14 tiles and built a whole built-in desk unit with the Dream Home Decorator sectional furniture. And then she jazzed up the outside with a little seating area and a roof with character. XD The end result looked decent enough, if you like a house where you’re gonna be spending most of your time in the kitchen or bathroom. Not that the Sim living there had any choice in the matter. XD
B) Then it was over to more Sims 4 building with James Turner – “I built the tallest house in The Sims 4!” Yes, James decided to try and see what the tallest build you could make in The Sims 4 without cheats was, using such methods as making the terrain a giant hill; stacking four octagons on top of each other and making them all the tallest wall height; and discovering that columns could be stretched to all hell even on the top level, which was all platform. XD So yeah, it ended up pretty damn tall –
And then he decided “ya know what, I’m making this a shell challenge.” So he went through the build and removed anything not base game, and moved it to a 50X50 lot in Willow Creek so everyone could download it and do what they like. I am very tempted to get it the next time I’m in the game and make it into a supervillain lair in my building save. XD I mean, it’s a big, goofy-looking spike tower – it’s PERFECT for an overdone villain lair!
C) Then we had Call Me Kevin and another Minecraft challenge – or, rather a Mine[redacted] challenge! Yes, last time he could not mine; this time, he cannot craft! Meaning wandering around the biome just got a hell of a lot harder. Kevin spent a lot of time in the badlands looking for villagers to rob (grabbing some unfortunate kid’s box and bed) and poking around in a nearby temple before attempting to swim to a better biome – only to nearly drown and then get speared by A Drowned. And then wake up on the beach with no loot because his previous spawn point didn’t work. XD Kevin was sour. Fortunately, he found another village and some mine shafts to pillage, though mostly what he picked up was tracks, junk, a bunch of unusable enchantment books, and a few pieces of wool. He even took on some Ill-agers to see if he could plunder their stronghold, but no luck. And he was one emerald short of what the trader wanted to sell him an ax. Yes, things weren’t going very well for old Kevin. . .
And then he found the remains of the old Nether portals scattered around and started raiding THEIR chests. Suddenly he had golden shovels, a golden ax, golden pants and shoes, and – most importantly – flint and steel! As you might imagine, most of the biome started burning shortly thereafter. XD Cows, sheep, chickens, trees, Ill-agers. . .all of them fell to Kevin’s deadly flames! Which meant that, if nothing else, he always had plenty of pre-cooked meals! XD We ended with Kevin making a temporary home in one of the villages he’d partially looted. People are already calling on him to either continue the challenge or alternate it with the “no mining” one, which – I’d be happy to see either. These ridiculous challenges are a lot of fun. XD
D) And finally, we had GrayStillPlays and Can You Steal It, a stick-figure game where your character has one stretchy hand and very sticky fingers! And lives in a world of chaos – you can go from the simplest bit of pickpocketing in a restaurant to LOOPING YOUR ARM AROUND THE MOON SO YOU CAN SAVE YOUR GIRLFRIEND FROM BEING ABDUCTED BY ALIENS. Not to mention saving someone from a beating by stretching your arm past a river full of piranha; ruining a guy giving his girlfriend flowers by stealing the bouquet – either from the other side of a barbed wire fence, or across a street with no less than THREE sawblades; freeing a bald “owl” from a cage by dodging the Audrey IIs waiting to chomp you in two semi-neat lines; and stealing two iced teas at once from your downstairs neighbors via clever use of arm-wrapping. Along the way, we got a promo for Gray’s store done by a professional voice-over artist in a nice suit. Always the hallmark of an excellent Gray video. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – the Smiler update is ready to go tomorrow on Victor Luvs Alice, and I found some A:MR and CB stuff to queue up for Valice Multiverse, as it’s very quiet indeed over there. Not sure what I’m doing for the rest of the week on my main, but I’ll come up with something!
Not too shabby -- especially with the random bouts of tiredness I've been fighting off all day. Ugh. . .and yet I keep waking up early when I ACTUALLY sleep. . .anyway. Time to head to bed and see what Wednesday brings. Night all!
