Busy Busy Tuesday
Mar. 15th, 2022 11:32 pmAnd I'm running a bit late, so let's just get this out and get to bed --
Work – Ooof – I was hoping that it MIGHT be a quieter day when I walked in and discovered that there wasn’t much waiting for me, but NOPE. The requests on my time came in thick and fast – can you look this thing up, can you look that thing up, here is a QC file, here is another QC file, you have to call this this and that person back, this person needs a refund, that person didn’t have something properly shut off – ugh. I managed to keep up enough to get all the QC files done and the refund/new pledge, but – yikes. And then tomorrow I have to get through all the stuff I didn’t get through today. . .very glad it’s a short week for me!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another evening on the bike, during which I moved onto Part II of the Oxventure “Peak Performance!” We left off with Prudence and Corazon needing to take on a flying ice goblin (I have no idea how you spell its actual name) – and Corazon was KILLING it, literally, with an opening Natural 20 on his combat initiative roll allowing him to inflict all the damage. XD Prudence tried with her stiletto knife, and she got a big old hole in its wing, but she’s so unused to using weapons instead of magic. . .anyway, they did manage to kill it, but the flying ice goblin got the last laugh by exploding and raining sharp icy stinging cuts upon them. Fortunately, this is when the others – attracted by the noise of the stirring dragon, and the sound of the explosion – caught up to them, and Egbert and Dob healed up Prudence and Corazon. Around this time Johnny had everyone roll a Constitution check to deal with the cold –
And Dob and Egbert both got ONES. So not only were they very cold (Mike saying Egbert probably ditched his eighty-wolves jacket out of embarrassment after Remus – and yes, they told the others about him, and Corazon promptly sent a message to the house so their estate agent would know too), they were very receptive to a dumb plan to fix being very cold – namely, Dob deciding to use Heat Metal on Egbert’s armor.
While Egbert was still in it.
Fortunately, Egbert is fire resistant and only took half-damage from the red-hot breastplate – AND everyone was able to warm themselves near it as it cooled, meaning they did fortify themselves against the chill, and Johnny agreed not to up the difficulty on the constitution check the next time they called for one. Suitably warmed, everyone continued the ascent, finding the path and edging their way along a narrow ledge. . .a ledge that proved to have a trap on it! A trap that Prudence, in the front, managed to trigger! Said trap was of the sort where, when you break a support beam, a whole bunch of boulders come down on you. Dob and Prudence, having rolled low, were distracted by the view, and Egbert, having rolled similarly low, was too busy licking his mace and getting his tongue stuck to pay much attention – fortunately, Corazon was cognizant of the danger and used his Mage Hand spell to yank Prudence out of the way, and the boulders tumbled away without actually hurting anyone – though they did make the dragon stir again. . . Fortunately it didn’t seem interested in investigating the noise. Prudence reluctantly thanked Corazon (who started bragging), and the gang, seeing night coming on, decided to look for a good place to find camp. Up a twisty ledge (which Corazon, with the help of another natural 20, managed to scale VERY coolly, pun intended), they found what looked like the idea place – but now aware of the dangers, everyone searched for traps, and found a stake pit! With magical energies swirling within it, to Prudence’s deep confusion. Corazon was able to hoist out a stake to use as firewood without incident (the energies just dissipating without any ill-effect), so Dob went to pull out the rest of the stakes to form a perimeter defense line –
And rolled a one, meaning he fell in and got impaled. (Johnny actually nearly threw EGBERT in there out of force of habit before remembering it was Dob.) Fortunately Egbert was on the case and managed to jump into the pit in a much more awesome manner to help his friend – we’ll see how Dob’s rescue goes tomorrow!
2. Keep editing Chapter 6 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – Alice has overheard Marcus’s little conversation with a couple of his cronies, about the guns they’re sitting on and how ordering a pizza is a bad idea, followed by his rather nasty phone call to his “woman.” Alice is really not feeling guilty about blowing these people up now. And she’s spotted the office she needs to get into – just she has to get DOWN to it first. And that involves a noisy drop – however, Cheshire has pointed out that if she redirects their attention with a DIFFERENT noise first. . .we’ll see how that works out for her tomorrow!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – two in, two out today, so I grabbed some extras along the way –
A) First up, a Smiler video that popped up in my Recommendeds – someone, back in May of 2015, got to climb the lift hill and see the Smiler from the top, along with some other behind-the-scenes stuff (like a good look a the hidden first inversion that you get at the very beginning of the ride). A lot of the video was the camera looking at the stairs beside the hill while the crewperson leading them up dropped their radio under the ride, but there were some nice views at the top, gotta say. :) Just interesting to see stuff like this!
B) Then it was onto Plumbella talking about the upcoming Decor To The Max Kit for Sims 4! She likes the look of the pieces – she thinks the wallpapers in particular have a curious “Victorian” style – but she did have to boot up the game to check just how similar a few pieces were to stuff we already have in-game, which kind of says it all, doesn’t it? She’s willing to give it a chance, but she really misses stuff packs by this point and is just like “why?” Meeeh – I actually do like some of the items in the pack, if only because I think they’d go well with Smiler, but I’m not about to start buying Kits NOW. I’ll see what I can find in the CC world.
C) Then it was over to the Subs for Call Me Kevin and more fun in Hitman VR! Playing the Sapienza level from the original Hitman (no subtitle) game! Between usual Kevin chaos and the fact that this game in VR is rather jank, it was a hilarious mess. XD You had Kevin tickling a guy until he ragdolled practically THROUGH some stairs; Kevin managing to successfully poison some spaghetti but being called suspicious for TURNING OFF THE STOVE; Kevin having amazing killer punches that could knock someone out in one blow, but not being able to get a fiber wire around people’s necks to choke them out; Kevin intruding on NPC personal space so much he was able to pretend to kiss them; Kevin trying to pretend to be a scientist by claiming he likes lab coats and gravity; and Kevin committing multiple massacres because he couldn’t stop being suspicious. Because Kevin. XD I mean, he DID manage to complete the level – got the first target throwing up over a cliffside and punched him over; electrocuted the second target by turning on a hose while she was talking beside a sabotaged outlet strip; then – after using it to poison a ton of people – destroyed the virus they were working on – but it took a LOT of collateral damage, including multiple bodyguards, a golf coach, multiple scientists, a few waiters, a kitchen assistant, and a shovel. RIP shovel. XD The game is so terrible and glitchy, and yet Kevin is having loads of fun playing it. And we’re having loads of fun watching him, so it all works out! XD
D) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and another GTA V parkour course. . .where you complete the majority of it UPSIDE-DOWN. Yes, in his brand-new Spider-Car, Gray was forced through a course where gravity was usually inverted and that was used to torment him. From an inversion into a killer wall ride (where the greatest danger was slamming into this one railing at the beginning), into an inverted “choose the right color or fall through the ceiling” run, into an upside-down race course to avoid the wind turbines, into having to find the right path when it keeps narrowing in different directions, to having to do an upside-down tight rope WITH A PERSON RIDING ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE CHASSIS (and if they get bumped and stumble, you’re both falling to your death), into racing to get into the right color block checkpoint to continue through the course (and the colors are constantly switching positions), into having to drive UPSIDE-DOWN ACROSS DISAPPEARING BLOCKS, THEN HAVING TO DRIVE UP ONE OF THE DISAPPEARING BLOCKS, BEFORE DRIVING OVER THE DISAPPEARING BLOCKS, TO LAUNCH YOURSELF OVER A HELICOPTER TO WIN. If Gray’s blood pressure is not through the ROOF after this physics-busting board, he is better than I give him credit for. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – we’ve got four Sims 4 posts in the VictorLuvsAlice queue for the Smiler Always update tomorrow, and three ask replies in the Valice Multiverse queue. So that’s all settled, at least!
Yeah, at least it was a productive evening! Staying on top of things. . .but now it is definitely time to head to bed and get some sleep. Night all!
