crossover_chick: Victor on the ground with one hand up with the text "Nooo! Anything but the fangirls!" (CB: save Victor from the fangirls!)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
Cold because we're getting hit with the polar vortex (I think the high today was 34F? And that's before wind chill), and jittery because I'm PMSing and that's one of my symptoms, feeling generally restless and irritable. *grumbles* I no likey. I do likey what I managed to get accomplished today, though:

Work – Quiet day, for the most part – Talky Coworker is out again, so we’ll see if she turns up later in the week. I did have a surprise second GL this morning from weekend updates from our credit card company, and a couple of people called in to make pledges, but mostly it was just updating pledges and boxing up some old GLs to make more space for the new ones. *shrug* I’ve had worse days at work?

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike again today, and onto the next Oxventure – “Faire Trial,” their first Oxventure Stream! You know, because this is the 2020 era of Oxventure. It was still a lot of fun, though, with Johnny taking full advantage of being able to change everybody’s backgrounds to match the locale they were supposed to be in. Such as a field at the start of the adventure, with the gang having one of their infrequent-yet-often-interrupted picnics. With, indeed, their new seal “pet,” Seal Gaiman, nee Victor Dietrich. (Mike actually had a soft squishy seal toy to represent him and everything!) While Seal Gaiman loaded up on pickled eggs and Dob enjoyed a high from some berries he’d found, a fellow called Max literally ran up to them, introducing himself as a Mounted Paladin Inspector (Prudence asked where the mount was, and he said he was an “off-steed inspector,” derailing the whole adventure for a good few minutes with laughter and groans and “we walked into that”). Max had spotted Egbert and, as he was in the middle of a census, decided to check him off. Egbert gave his name, but when Max asked if he was still with the Dragon D’or order, he admitted no, he’d started a new order for his cow god a little over a year ago. Max checked his documents and found that Egbert had failed to file the correct paperwork for the order change, and so he must take the Paladin Trials again! Egbert was not exactly pleased, because he’d failed them five times during his first go (who is surprised). Max pointed out that they weren’t far from the tourney grounds, where the trials were held (two days’ walk for normal people, about one and a half at a “paladin trot”), and said that he could take his companions for moral support – but they were NOT TO HELP HIM CHEAT. *pause* At least, not VISIBLY. XD Everyone agreed to these terms, and so they set off for the tourney grounds! Along the way, Merilwen and Prudence gathered what supplies they could from the field; Dob built a decent-ish ramp in case Egbert needed it for something; and Corazon bought the entire stock of a passing peddler in case there was good religious paraphernalia in there (to dump on Egbert’s opponents, I think was the plan? Also he foolishly left Dob in charge of paying the guy, and Dob gave him 70 gold when the guy asked for 51).

Upon arriving at the tourney grounds, the gang found that it was in fact a full-on fair, complete with rides and games and other amusements! Egbert headed over to the Ferris wheel that doubled as a private meditation spot, managing to get in touch with his cow god via some solid sun staring and picking up what advice and encouragement he could (such as “have a ramp handy,” and “don’t abuse the Wabbamace, because if you do Johnny will make your opponent turn into something unpleasant”). Dob went to play a “hook the displacer beast” game and won himself a big cuddly minotaur toy, then gave ten gold to a crying child, who promptly rushed off to get smashed on gin. XD Corazon, being a) a pirate rogue and b) fearful of how much money Dob paid to play the game, managed to easily drill into the cash box for said game and get a bunch of gold. Prudence acquired candy floss (cotton candy to us), and the Geth equivalent of a helium balloon, which is a pig’s bladder full of bees (everyone’s like “WATCH YOUR HORNS”). And Merilwen went over to the stables to fuss over the horses, and found them a bit agitated. . .probably because there seems to be another, nastier beast in a cage or crate nearby. . .we’ll see what that is tomorrow, perhaps!

2. Continue the final posting edit of Chapter 5 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – the edit is officially done, and Chapter 5 is officially up! :D I hope you all enjoy the direct look at Alice’s adventures taking care of the Cathayan and working her way through the final part of the Voerman’s questline. Just one more chapter to go! Which I’m very close to finishing. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check enough – I thought it was going to be a one-video day with just Gray, but then Wyrd Sisters Podcast uploaded after I watched two Sims 4 videos. Ah well, I would have had to wait to watch that one anyway, it’s 41 minutes, so. . .maybe Wednesday? We’ll see. In the meantime –

A) Started with a quick Plumbella video – “ok I was wrong...Story Progression is a bit broken (me too, bestie)” AKA a look at the Neighborhood Stories feature now that she’s back from Bristol and can actually play around with it a bit. After causing some chaos of her own with her random starter Sim (skipping time forward via cheats ended up with most of the Sim’s house on fire, somehow), she went around the various neighborhoods to see what had happened. She didn’t have some of the weird shit some other people have seen (like Nancy Landgraab dying and Geoffrey moving out leading to a cat living alone in their mansion), though there were a fair few adoptions (including two kids by the Goths, and a kid and a cat by the Calientes). She stands by her previous statement about the update being, at least in theory, a good thing for the game, but hopes they fine-tune it in future (so most families don’t go adoption-mad, for starters). Plumbella, I hate to say this, but they’re gonna have to fix the “error code 0” save bug that seems at least partially linked to Neighborhood Stories (in particular joining jobs) first. *sigh*

B) Then it was onto an English Simmer video I was intrigued by – “Are weddings better without My Wedding Stories?” AKA, she decided to uninstall that pack and see what she could recreate using gameplay from the other packs. Like, for a bachelor party, she had one of her prospective grooms make a Get Together club with the activities she wanted everyone to do (drink, play foosball, sing, etc) and used the “club outfits” to set some silly costumes for people before inviting his beloved and all his friends to the club. They also went outfit shopping at a Get To Work retail store (obviously, using the dresser to actually plan the wedding suit), baked a nice cake from the “Gourmet Cooking” menu, and then headed to a custom lot to get married, using the Luxury Party fountain and buffet tables to feed everyone and do toasts and such. And even had a fun group dance out on the dance floor. XD Yes, people were doing musical chairs during the vows, and you couldn’t have an official wedding party (like a Sim of Honor or a Flower Pal or suchlike) or an official first dance (slow-dancing should have been a base game addition – at least we have mods!), but overall, this kind of wedding was pretty much just as good as a My Wedding Stories one!

Except for the fact that it WASN’T GOALED. DESPITE THE ENGLISH SIMMER SPECIFICALLY CHOOSING THAT. I swear, if they’ve removed the ability to have goaled weddings from the game EVEN WITHOUT THE PACK, I will be SOUR. As she mentioned in her video, some of us LIKE the stuff you get from having a goaled event! You could argue they’re wedding presents! *sigh* SO glad now that Victor and Alice in the Chill Save got married before all this nonsense. . .and I hope Smiler’s goaled Keg Party that I scheduled for in-game Friday works properly when I get to it now. . .

C) And then it was over to the actual Subs for GrayStillPlays and Street Cop 3-D, another weird little mobile game about being a beat cop on the street, scanning the various people on said street and either talking to them, arresting them, or tasering them as options allow. XD Naturally, once he got his hands on the taser, Gray was only too happy to use it whenever he could. Like when chasing a man running around in only his underwear. Or a lady who was smuggling a snake under her jacket. XD He also randomly arrested people for being out shopping, not giving him free coffee from their barista job, and eating strawberry ice cream, while letting a food poisoner go in exchange for a free meal, and a literal cat burglar (as in, she stole a cat) go for having a “Yeet-ers” t-shirt on. Also let a few people get yeeted away as hostages because he couldn’t be bothered to watch ads. All dressed as either a cowboy or a viking. XD These games, I swear. . .

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – added a link to Chapter 5, above, to my tumblr drafts! Was gonna do a song for Song Saturday too, but now that the Wyrd Sisters Podcast is up, that might take precedence. We’ll see if I get a chance to listen to it before the weekend!

*nods* Not too shabby, right? Even if I am rather distracted by wishing I could give my Sims fun fair stuff. . .at least I know icemunmun's cotton candy machine seems to work? Hmm. . .

Well, anyway, I really do need to hit the sheets -- night all!

She stomped back to the bed and dropped onto it, head int her hands.

Spelling.

"Ah – I'd appreciate it if you didn't kill me into the bargain,"

Into seems like an odd word choice, but that's just me. I would've used "in".

Ohai Pee Man! ...actually, Ohai Mark works too. XD

I think that's all I caught. Also yay Victor reference!! :p
