Seriously -- I woke up early because I had to pee and had trouble getting back to sleep, granted, but after that, the day went really well! Breakfast smoothie was very nice, and I did quite well on all my little iPad games that I played while drinking it. And then it was time to start my to-do list --

1. Clean my room and shave my underarms and legs: Check, accomplished in two parts –

Clean my room – Got that done this morning, naturally. Took a little longer than normal, because a) we’ve had the windows open and it’s been pollen-heavy and b) I’m technically a week off-schedule because of my dentist appointment last week, but it got done, starting from 10:20-something this morning and ending just before 2 this afternoon (with a lunch break after I’d finished dusting and Swiffering the floor). Not too shabby.

Oh, and the best part? While I was cleaning, I picked up my mouse to get some of the gunk off the underside, and I happened to notice it had a power switch. I thought, "you know, I haven't tried flipping that -- worth a go, right?" So I turned it off, left it for a few seconds while I did the keyboard, then turned it on again –

And it lit up! Cycled through all the colors before settling again on my usual purple. :D So now all my computer stuff is nice and glowy again, hooray! I'll have to remember that if there's a repeat.

Shave my underarms and legs – Got this done during my shower this evening! It’s not PERFECT – it never is on the first shave of the year – but both pits and legs are looking more summery than they did before. I figure I can do another round tomorrow night while I’m showering, and then I should look presentable enough to wear skirts and blouses with really short/no sleeves at work.

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, get Plumbella out of the Watch Later: Check! All caught up on all of this –

A) Started with all the Plumbella currently sitting my Watch Later (including the one uploaded today) –

I. “Besties, I have built the cheapest possible house in The Sims 4” – Plumbella takes a crack at building the cheapest house possible for a Sim that isn’t a torture chamber and doesn’t have a bush for a toilet. She made a list of everything that a Sim would need to survive and at least SOMEWHAT enjoy themselves, and then started looking for the cheapest possible iteration of each item! There were a few tweaks along the way – trading out the cheapest double bed for the cheapest single since she only had one Sim to test all this, for example – and she did have to resort to using the “show hidden objects” cheat to find the TRULY cheap stuff, but she eventually ended up with a tiny brick garden shed with a kiddie bed, one island counter with the crafted bar stool from the woodworking table that contained a microwave, the Sims 1 TV you normally get through dumpster diving, AND a little stack of books all smushed into each other via moveobjects, a cheap fridge, a nothing shower, a cheap toilet, and a few debug trees outside for color. XD Total lot value was $4,599! I imagine it’s difficult to go cheaper without embracing the “prisoner in Jim Pickens’s basement” aesthetic, but we will see if her community steps up!

II. “This simmer's renovation of The Sims 4 is OUTSTANDING” – Plumbella takes a look at a save file from a Simmer by the name of AnotherPlumbob, who is trying to recreate The Sims 2 in The Sims 4! Their save file is called “Uberhood,” and while it is not quite done yet (many of the worlds are blank), they’ve turned Willow Creek into Pleasantview (complete with a Goth family missing Bella and a pregnant Brandi Broke in a trailer park area), Windenburg into Veronaville (with the Montys living on the island and the Capps on the mainland), and StrangerVille into Strangetown (with the Beakers and the Grunts) – and Oasis Springs into “Ordinary Springs,” aka the “Strangetown” of the PSP game! Plumbella was very pleasantly surprised to find some characters she recognized from her LP of it! It’s a save done with a lot of love, care, and attention to detail – things aren’t EXACTLY replicated, but they’re as close as they can get in this game, and you can tell they gave it their all! Good stuff, especially if you’re looking for a nostalgic save. :)

III. “The Sims 4: High School (Initial Expectations)” – Plumbella muses about what she’d want about of a “high school” pack after “High School” got spotted on a list of expansion pack names in a Sims 4 survey! Yeah, this is a potential leak of the next expansion in the works, and Plumbella decided she might as well detail what she’d want in such a pack. Some key points was having an actual physical high school for Sims to visit, and the option of active classes; more types of school (like you could sign your kids up for private school, various kinds of boarding schools, military school, stuff like that), plus the option NOT to go to school if that’s not your Sim’s thing; more after-school activities; sleepovers and other teen-specific party types; prom (again with the choice of sending your Sim to a rabbithole or following them there for active play); personality types; and just generally more things to make teenagers feel like a distinct life stage instead of “Young Adult: The Prequel.” XD I’m not really a family/kids Simmer – you’ve probably noticed that all I want to do is have adventures with Victor, Alice, and now Smiler – but if they did a good school pack, I might be tempted to try some younger Sims! I have occasionally had thoughts of a save file where I start with everybody as kids. . . *shrug* We’ll see what happens in the future!

B) Then, after getting my writing done (below), it was over to the Subs for Call Me Kevin and “Can you beat the Sims without ever leaving your house?” Yes, Kevin chose to return to his Sims 4 roots today, by imprisoning Sim!Kevin and Jim Pickens in a big boxy house (with a VERY custom roof), with a few pre-built rooms so they could sleep, use the bathroom, bathe, and eat. The rules were that Sims could come in, but they could never leave, so anyone they happened to invite over, well. . . Things got off to a rough start as they were already too poor to pay the bills – Kevin tried everything but selling most of the random clutter around the house (photography, painting, buying an aquarium for fun), but soon enough, a repo lady came along and repossessed pretty much their entire bathroom, plus their stove and fridge. And then, of course, couldn’t get out of the house again. XD Kevin promptly began pushing his Sim self to paint more so they could afford a shower and a cheap fridge – and when that started paying dividends, he decided it was time to form a painting club. Called “Trapped And Afraid.” XD He put in everyone with a decent painting skill, started a gathering, and waited for everyone to start making him money! XD Which – well, they did! It wasn’t exactly a well-oiled machine, but Kevin slowly but surely came up with a system that worked – buying a couple of coffee machines to keep everyone awake to paint; buying the cupcake machine to feed the prisoners on no-cost plates of cupcakes; making sure there were at least four easels so multiple people (including Sim!Kevin, who was getting quite good and quite famous from all of this) could paint at a time; putting Jim on selling duty so the paintings were always being sold quickly (and he got the credit for everyone else’s hard work); using club points to boost everyone’s inspiration and give them all a skill boost; making one of the club activities “cleaning” so the club members would clean everyone’s messes; installing some toilet stalls in the main room to stop queues for the toilet; and eventually getting a hot tub for fun and hygiene because no one wanted to play board games. And then making a separate room to trap people who just would not stop complaining about their low needs in, kicking them out of the club, and inviting someone new along. XD Hey, it’s working well enough that they’re able to actually stay on top of their bills! That’s all that matters, right? :p

C) And finally we ended on GrayStillPlays and “I tried a dangerous tsunami ride in GTA 5!” Yup, it’s Alex and Danny making GTA V stunt boards for Gray again, and this episode, the theme was “natural disasters!” Said disasters included a “flood” course where Gray had to maneuver his jetski around constantly-breaching humpback whales in a simple maze (without being smacked into the stratosphere or getting stuck on one of the concrete barriers); a “fuel shortages” course where Gray had to wind his way around giant bunches of killer windmills in a causeway (and avoid the “secret passages” which were just secret crushers); a “sharknado” course where Gray had to make a big jump without being smacked by the railgun of hammerhead sharks Alex had set up (yes, not a real natural disaster, but who freaking cares); a “waterspouts” course where Gray had to trade his jetski for a windsurfing board (a vehicle which he was unfamiliar with) and wind around the waterspouts before allowing himself to be shot by one over a giant rocky outcrop (or, in typical Gray fashion, find a way to cheat by building up enough speed he was able to scoot the board over the sandbank on the other side); a “hurricane” course where Alex took inspiration from Gray talking about Floridian hurricanes and how they can fling cars around to force Gray to windsurf up a ramp and fly through both cars and boats being flung at very fast speeds back and forth against each other with his magnets (took Gray a few tries, but eventually he got the necessary speed to get past all of it); a “tsunami” course where Gray had to escape the “tsunami tube” by windsurfing his way up the gathering waves (with the glitchiest water I’ve ever seen in a GTA V video – on the plus side, Gray became a definite master of the windsurfing board after that); and finally a “tsunami part two: cylinder wallrides” course, where Gray had to take a car, ride around the inside of a cylinder, launch himself into ANOTHER cylinder, then ride around and launch himself out of THAT into a glowing disco tube to reach the win (which – poor Gray discovered after too many tries that he’d been doing the whole thing BACKWARDS at first, going clockwise when he should have been going counter-clockwise. . .his only solace being the win at the end was real). Both prime Gray pain and prime Gray antics – it is finger-lickin’ good! XD

3. Play Sims 4 and finish off Smiler's second semester of university: Check! Smiler had a pretty solid (if not particularly eventful – I took only sixteen pictures, which is rare for me) last day of term for their second semester, I must say. First was a bit of fishing in their home neighborhood, now that I’ve located the fishing spot (it’s behind the pub) – they caught a salmon (sold for cash) and a perch (turned into a plasma pack). Then it was back home to get the daily harvest, grab some fire ants lingering around the front door (new bug for the collection!), and make sure that the “Self Sufficency” N.A.P. (which rewards fishing, gardening, and other such activities) was going to win the latest round of votes (and that “Water Conservation,” which keeps fining Smiler EVEN THOUGH they barely use water, WENT after the voting period closed). Gotta keep up on household chores, after all!

From there it was onto campus for finals – Smiler spent some time tinkering on the robotics workstation (gaining the “Techie” lifestyle in the process, meaning they are all about the tech and programming and whatnot – makes sense for them, given their ride’s heavily-technological theme!), hit their first final in “Beginning Neuropsychology,” transitioned immediately into giving their final presentation for “Pondering Personalities,” then flew over to the stadium to take down the Britechester banners and put up Foxbury ones (Spirit Squad goals! literally), went back to tinkering to grab some robot salvage parts and another level of Robotics skill, then went to their second final in their “Mixology” class, before finally going to clean up the campus statue and enjoy one of the other students playing a guitar nearby with a plasma pack. :) Smiler gave the guy a burst of Inspiration before going home too – trying to remember to use their “Alter Emotions” power a bit more!

Once home, I sold their old TV and bought them a new wall-mounted unit (because Rebate Day! also they deserved a better TV), where they enjoyed a movie while I waited for their term results – A+s all around again! :D Signed up for the next term right away, with Smiler once again taking two core classes and an elective – went for the “Handiness” class this time, as that’s always useful. Smiler got a jump start on their homework for the next day, and then it was off to work! Where their performance was good enough to earn them a raise of $10 an hour! :D Ended the day with them doing some dark mediation, then playing “The R.E.F.U.G.E.” on their laptop. :) A good spot to leave them in before the patch and the new pack, I think!

4. Write the first draft of Gigs's gift fic: Check! I have decided to combine two of your mentioned “things you can’t go wrong with” into one for this, Gigs. Little over of a page of a maybe-slightly-bittersweet (but mostly sweet, I hope) tale, and since the birthday girl reads these, I shan’t say any more. XD But first draft is done, and now I can refine both fics over the next couple of Saturdays!

Additionally:

-->Played beanbags today, as it was very nice out (though we got to it a little later than normal thanks to my parents finishing the new wallpaper/beadboard combo in the kitchen) – and I had an excellent day, taking three out of five games! Poor Mom still can’t get above second place, though – final scores were me W-2-3-W-W; Dad 3-W-W-2-3; Mom 2-3-2-3-2. We’ll see if we get to play tomorrow – rain coming in around 5 PM, apparently, but who knows for sure.

So yeah, nice, productive day there, with a problem I was unsure how to resolve fixed, my Sims in a good position for the patch next week, and general good feelings all around! :D It's nice to have a day that's just chill and comfortable, you know? I'm hoping things repeat in this vein tomorrow. Speaking of which:

1. Keep up with the FO4 Playthrough Progression

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, Jon's Fallout video, and if possible the OXBoxtra lists in the WL

3. Play Fallout 4 and get on the path to save Nick

4. Work on tumblr drafts

5. Get in a workout

I think these are all reasonable goals! We'll see how things go on Sunday. . .night all!
