Not Great Thursday

crossover_chickI mean, some parts of it were okay, but the day started off rough with Dad mad at his computer for not working how he expected it to, and then Mom went to get her license renewed, only to not be able to upgrade to a Real ID because they wanted her marriage certificate, which she hadn't spotted on the list, and came home mad about that. . .basically, the mood in the house was TENSE all before lunch. >( Did not do much for my hoped-for productivity! And then. . .
Work – Had the Social Event today, which was – well, I got through it. Traffic up to the church was actually pretty damn light, though we encountered some trouble when it became apparent they’d closed off the lane closest to the office for the shuttle buses – Mom found a spot to drop me off, and I eventually connected with my coworkers and was able to sit with them in a relatively quiet spot behind one of the pillars. The whole Mass was long and loud, but I just busied myself trying to look attentive and following everyone else’s lead on when to sit and stand. Then it was over to the reception area, which was a cold but short walk (if made longer by one of my coworkers having a chat with someone and refusing to wrap it up and move), where I sat at a table by the door and tried to hear myself think over the very loud band. Eventually managed to tell my coworkers I had to go, since Mom was picking me up at the mall at 4:30 PM, but when I went to go out who should I spot right by the doors but my supervisor? So I had to wait for HIM to clear out – tried to find another way out, but the other set of doors down the hall was locked. Once he was somewhere else, I slipped out and hurried over to the pick-up point by the mall, hoping I wasn’t too late. . .
Only to discover after a few minutes that Mom had actually arrived EARLY and parked by the train station. Cue her trying to direct me to where she was and me trying to figure out how to get to her (it was basically across the street and down a ways – my initial attempt to get through the park was stymied by the sheer amount of goose shit on the path). And then we ended up having to cut through the city to get home, and THEN, going across a tiny chunk of highway to get to the main drag, some lady nearly plows into the side of us from the on-ramp! Mom was super pissed and insisted on giving her the finger very forcefully, which did not do anything for my stress levels, let me tell you. *heavy sigh* At least tomorrow is a day off and I get to just stay home all day and do what I want, but MAN. Very glad I saved that final Fererro Rocher I had for a treat after all that!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, this time with another episode of James Turner’s High School Years Rags To Riches Generational Epic! I watched Part 19 today, which had Reginald and Kevin successfully celebrating Summerfest (and getting some nice stuff to sell for profit, including a freaking giant microscope in Reg’s case); Reginald writing a bunch more books, including a mystery about the Bigwallet line’s original progenitor, Lady; Kevin getting a promotion and becoming an official bodybuilder, with James turning half the greenhouse out the back into a gym with a weights machine for him; Reginald buying his first property in Copperdale, the “starter house” there that James converted into a store, and setting it up as a simple thrift shop with the racks and some mannequins, and a boba tea counter in the kitchen (only sold one outfit, but this is just for some fun and to earn a little extra cash); and Reginald visiting Sidney and Ava in their house and trying to get Ava to at least SOMEWHAT like him while Sidney started a fire in the background. XD It was a bit of a weird episode, is what I’m saying! But it was a very productive one, nice. :) (And it reminds me, I’ve gotta go through all my mods and make sure which ones are good and which need updates. . .)
2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland:” Check – Alice filled in Smilin’ Jack about what happened with Tin Can Bill, and he noted that she seemed to be taking the Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle’s activities personally. Alice told him that she just didn’t like how they were targeting those who least deserved it (especially since her old nanny is in sex work and she’s come close to being homeless herself a few times), and Jack said that it was dumb from a practical standpoint too, and only idiots and vampires on their way out do this kind of shit. And then ended up telling her about “wights,” vampires who have lost all their humanity and have been reduced to essentially mindless animals, because she asked what he meant by “vampires on their way out.” As you might imagine, that spooked Alice a bit. At least I can’t see her going down that path anytime soon! She’s heading back to her haven now to regroup with Victor – and maybe learn that the cops were poking around a certain Milton’s apartment. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – helped that they were both shorter videos today!
A) First up, Call Me Kevin’s video for the day – “The most cursed wrestling game ever!” Kevin is back in – one of the WWE games, I’m not sure which year. But it’s one that allows you to make and download custom wrestlers, and Kevin decided, for our amusement, he would pick 30 of these custom wrestlers and put them them all in a Royal Rumble for our amusement. The rules were simple – you went out of the ring with both feet touching the floor, and you were OUT! Also new characters entered roughly every ninety seconds if there was room for them, with the final character being Kevin’s character – Big Baby, who was exactly (and terrifyingly) what it said on the tin. XD Other combatants included The Grinch (Jim Carrey version); Santa Claus; Big Smoke from Grand Theft Auto (I forget which one, the one with CJ); both Scooby-Doo and Shaggy; Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star; God and Satan; Shrek; Mario; Spider-Man; and Joe Biden. XD It was a wild and wacky match, with certain characters lasting a lot longer than you might expect – Grinch dominated the early rounds, while Big Smoke, Shaggy, and Scooby stayed in the ring for AGES. Kevin himself didn’t manage to win – instead, the final match-up was between Patrick and Peter Griffin, with Peter eventually throwing him out of the ring to secure victory. Kevin even got that guy from Cameo who does a perfect Peter Griffin impersonation to do a “post-match interview.” XD A nice short bit of hilarity from our favorite Irish YouTuber!
B) And second up, we had the GrayStillPlays shorts teaser of Thursday, “5 Scary Myths in GTA 5 #shorts!” Yes, today was Gray testing “scary myths” in GTA V, including – you can survive a three-story fall if you’re standing on glass which you then break (true, the glass kind of just gently lowers you to the ground for glitch reasons); you can survive being lit on fire by a molotov if you fall off a building and start skydiving (true, the swap to a skydive position with backpack instantly puts the flames out); you can “space dodge” a machete attack (true – I don’t know what it means, but apparently Gray pulled it off on the second try, so. . .); you die if you skydive through the (very flat) ghost that appears on Mt. Gordo (false, Gray tried it and the ghost despawned, Florida Man was fine); and you can’t skydive into a pool during a thunderstorm at night (false, Gray tried it and was totally fine, and very happy he hit the pool). A nice short bit of hilarity from our favorite Floridian YouTuber!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – two ask replies over on Valice Multiverse, nothing too taxing. :) And, as for future tumblr queues (specifically what’s gonna be coming up the first couple of weeks of February on Victor Luvs Alice), I got a few things done this morning:
A) Got all the pictures for the next Chill Save update sorted – this covers more pet shenanigans and the party Smiler threw (where I forgot to unleash the party-bot); another six-parter at sixty screenshots! So I’m glad I’ve got the photos sorted early!
B) Made my Valicertine out of that one cute screenshot I like so much :) I need at least two more valentines to be ready for the 14th, though, so gotta keep cracking on that!
C) Started filling out one of the OT3 ship memes I downloaded! I got the basics (pictures for everyone, names, ages, gender identification, etc) done this morning, and then I poked at it a bit more this evening, doing the various “graph” bits and who would be most likely to propose first (Victor), tell a fast food worker “excuse me they asked for no pickles” (Alice), do the “what’s updog” joke (Smiler), stuff like that. It’s going pretty good so far!
So yeah, at least I got all that done! And that stupid thing is over with and hopefully shall not be repeated anytime soon. *grumbles* And, having answered all of Moose's messages a bit earlier, now I get some time for myself. :) Which I am already intending to spend checking my mods and getting them updated. XD Also probably gonna poke at that ship meme a little more. . . As for tomorrow, that's Mom's birthday, so I'm gonna be busy with a bit of that, but I hope to get in a proper dash-and-tags catch-up on tumblr; write some more on "The Joker And The Queen;" get more ship meme stuff done; finish updating all my Sims 4 mods and maybe play a little bit; and get some stuff out of the Watch Later along with my Subs stuff. Hopefully this should all be doable! Night all!
