Most of the day was mild if gloomy and a bit rainy, but the temperature's been dropping as the wind picks up. Tomorrow's back to more February-like temperatures, and then it's back to a rise to about the mid-40s to low 50s, because winter this year is drunk. Again, not REALLY upset over the lack of snow, I just kinda miss the possibility of snow day time off work. *shrug* Ah well, I got plenty of vacation days should I need them. Anyway, the details of my day:
Work – Busy day! Mostly due to people always needing me for something – credit card calls, my supervisor asking me to look up stuff, Talky Coworker talking to me, a couple of checks that needed research, a proper chat with the person at Give Central, looking up various batches – I mean, it made the day go by, and it wasn’t OVERWHELMINGLY stressful, just – a lot. And of course I had to deal with some idiot speed demons on the commute in and back. *sigh* Out for the weekend now, at least!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – a final night on the bike this week, and – well, I’d been meaning to properly watch the 2022 Alton Towers fireworks show, instead of just watching The Smiler’s bit and the ending over and over, so what better opportunity? This DID mean I had to put up with ads occasionally interrupting my experience, but at least I did get to see and enjoy the entire show, including the drones at the beginning and all the different fireworks and lasers throughout. :) It’s an awesome show, and I genuinely love all their various remixes and new takes on songs. And of course I got all the dopamine and serotonin from The Smiler bit. :D I am so looking forward to what the “Smiler Takeover” of the Festival of Thrills (the new “live music” festival they have to help start the season – the fireworks show in 2022 was basically an extension/part 2 of it, by its own admission at the beginning) will look like! Even if I won’t get to experience it in person, I’m sure plenty of people will be filming it.
2. Edit Marie’s gift fic: Check! I have taken the fic of Madeline and Bruce Wayne talking after a post-“you’re home safe from patrol” fuck and put it through the editing wringer, and now it’s a little nicer, and ready to post next Thursday! Baring a little last-minute “queuing this up” editing. :p But yeah, it’s looking good, and I’m pretty happy with it. w000!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – one Subs video, one Watch Later video, yay –
A) First, the OXBox list of the week – “7 Amazing Weapons That Were a Huge Pain in the Ass to Get Hold Of!” Mike, Jane, and Andy listing off the weapons that are almost not worth the effort, given what you have to get through to unlock them. Featuring Bayonetta 2’s Chain Chomp accessory, which is just as chompy as it is in Mario (and which you only unlock after defeating the game on Triple Climax mode, aka Hard difficulty); The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s Biggeron Sword, which has more reach and does double the damage of the Master Sword (and which requires you to complete one hell of a chain of deals to actually get your hands on the thing); and Earthbound’s Sword of Kings, which is the best weapon to give Prince Poo and gives him incredible damage (and which requires you to grind like HELL for it in one particular dungeon from one particular enemy. Also you will probably be making jokes about Poo’s name the entire time). I would not have the patience for any of this – I will stick with Fallout 4’s legendaries and the luck of the draw, thanks! My Two-Shot Combat Rifle is serving me VERY well.
B) And then it was over to GrayStillPlays for “I put a skull under 9,999,999 tons of pressure,” aka Gray plays Stickman Destruction 3 Heroes! We are back to games about murdering sticks riding improbable vehicles in death courses, people! And while this one didn’t have the greatest boards in the world (the one Gray was the most excited about, “Jaws,” had pistons that didn’t even fully crush the unfortunate Spider-Man stick between them), it had a couple of real winners when it came to infinite points – like the “Speed” course, which had a booster and two points where you could ram your stick into props (Gray generally chose either other stick figures or a wall). Once Gray got his hands on the motorcycle to get some real speed, this became a great way for him to smash bones and rack up points – at least until he got to a piston-y board where he was able to put sawblades in between the upwards-thrusting pistons for maximum torture. And then learned how to wedge the wheels of a bicycle between the saws and the pistons to get himself caught more easily and thus gain the vaulted Infinite Points. XD And the final board was pretty good too, involving much smashing into other sticks before being catapulted into steam vents to be smashed to bits against grinders – best done with a rickety old van so the whole family could enjoy the carnage! XD Oh, his glee at torturing stick figures like this is infectious, let me tell you. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – two Discworld-based ask replies in the queue over on Valice Multiverse! (Well, I ASSUME they were both Discworld – I recognized one as a description of a monster from Hogfather, but the other didn’t immediately click. It was definitely written in a Pratchett-esque style, though!) Not too bad.
*nods* Not too bad at all -- even if I did end up losing at Trivial Pursuit tonight. XD I got to eat lots of mini-pigs-in-blankets and mini spring rolls, so that was all right at least. :p And now I'm doing the social thing and answering Moose's messages, so I'd better get back to that. Tomorrow, catching up on Atop The Fourth Wall and getting back to Valicer in Sims 4! See you then!
