Tiring Friday
May. 19th, 2023 11:55 pmI mean, most of the day was all right, just the evening that turned out to be long. . .and I'm actually suspecting I'm starting to PMS a bit early, which is annoying. Stupid biology. . .anyway, let me tell you about my day --
Work – A reasonably busy Friday – I had a pair to GLs to get through (with some match-the-numbers fuckery) that took up pretty much my entire morning, then some exceptions and write-offs that took up the majority of my afternoon, along with getting a few other things off my plate (pledges in limbo and whatnot). So it was busy, but not in a way that I found too stressful or mentally taxing, and I got all my breaks without issue, so, yay.
As for beanbags once I got home – oof. Each round was a SLOG today, let me tell you. Dad was off his game, I was REALLY off my game, and Mom – er, well, she didn’t do great on individual throws, but on the whole she did the best with the most consistent throws. Final scores were me 2-3-3; Dad W-2-2; Mom 3-W-W. *shakehead* Maybe Sunday will be better (it’s supposed to rain tomorrow).
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – final night on the bike this week, wrapping up “Testing 100 Dangerous Vehicles in GTA 5” by GrayStillPlays! (Well, as much of it as I COULD wrap up downstairs – I had to watch the last ten or so minutes just now, after Family Game Night (note to self, NEVER SUGGEST THE BTTF CARD GAME AGAIN. My parents cannot seem to grasp the concept of READING THE DAMN CARDS IN FULL).) Wrapped up the replay of Gray versus Alex’s “Bulges” (with the reveal that the Wastelander is honestly pretty damn awesome – also, forgot this was the video where planes knocked one of Gray’s trucks off the course before he could even try it XD), and finished off the compilation with the “Speed Bumps” board (which ALSO featured the Wastelander doing it when every other car couldn’t – that old rustbucket is seriously great when it comes to anything with a hill in it). Good times, good times~
2. Continue writing “The Joker And The Queen”: SUBSTITUTION – I wasn’t really feeling “The Joker And The Queen” this evening, so I instead went back to the scene I was working on yesterday from my Valicer In The Dark AU. Nanny’s just delivered the news that she heard that Victoria got married today, which absolutely stunned Victor – especially after he learned he’d only been gone a day at most. Everyone else was more startled to learn that he and Victoria had only MET the previous day (Smiler in particular was like “o.O what if you didn’t like each other”), and then I went off on a tangent about Victor joking how his parents killing him for screwing up things with Victoria would solve his and Emily’s problem, only for Emily to talk about how much she hates being dead, what with her memory and her reason going. . . :( Being a ghost in Duskwall is NOT a fun time, let me tell you. Everyone’s offered their sympathies, and I even let Victor reference the piano duet – they deserved that nice moment, even if it’s in the wrong spot in the timeline. :p I left off with Nanny remembering that it was a Lord Barkis who married Victoria – which is going to stir some memories for Emily that she just CAN’T forget. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check, with another dose of GrayStillPlays – “When you’re forced to survive for a 100 years,” aka Gray plays Survival Master 3D! This is a silly mobile game about surviving on an island after a plane crash, and – well, it STARTS out relatively normal, with you and your feral dog friend cutting down trees to make shelter and fire, fishing via crudely-crafted spears, and figuring out how to grow other plants. But then you get to stuff like battling pirates who arrive from the ether, saving a dying Viking and inviting him to live with you, making a grass leaves dress (or, in Gray’s case, making a pair of leaf arms and then designing himself banana armor), knocking down bananas before having to battle a random gorilla in hand-to-hand combat, spearing a shark and then having to fight the SHARK in hand-to-hand combat, stealing a crocodile egg and then having to fight the CROCODILE in hand-to-hand combat. . . Add in that you can spend logs to upgrade your shelter to a literal MANSION eventually and give yourself a watchtower, a windmill, and a freaking GIANT T-REX SKULL as décor, and this was basically the perfect ridiculous mobile game for Gray. XD We do love him just having fun and spelling out YEET in the sand with rocks occasionally! XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – two ask replies in the Valice Multiverse queue (one a response to the “Deb vs Dinosaur Guy” ask I got the other day :p). Nice and easy! And I’m trying to see if I can get at least a few of the pictures for the upcoming Chill Valicer Save Love Day update done as well. :)
And now it is time for me to finish up the social thing before retiring for the night (I am Making An Effort to try and get to bed before 2 AM tonight). Tomorrow is a Cleaning Saturday, meh, but I also hope to keep up on my Subs and try and get some more videos out of the Watch Later; play Sims 4 and have the gang visit the revamped Pectoral Fitness in Del Sol Valley; and either start Chapter 5 of "Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland" or finish riding this Valicer In The Dark train. Fingers crossed I get at least MOST of that done! Night all!
