Sticky Friday

crossover_chickWe have more humid weather coming in for the next few days, and it is -- not exactly fun. Even with my window fan going, my room is a bit stickier than I'd like it to be. Damn humidity. . .plus we have a possibility of thunderstorms after midnight. I guess we'll see what happens! In the meantime, here's the round-up of my day --
Work – Another quiet day, for the most part – a couple of phone calls, doing the GL, dealing with one of the printers not wanting to work (it had to be rebooted and reinstalled on the network), and doing yet more duplicates and deceased. *shrug* I’ve had much worse Fridays! And now it is the weekend, and I only have one more full week of work to get through before Summer Half-Fridays begin again. . .
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – final night on the bike this week, with “I may have made a mistake... High School Years (Part 36),” the next bit of James Turner’s High School Years Rags To Riches Generational Epic! This was a shorter episode, but it still covered a lot of ground –
A) A lot of the episode focused on Breanne going out to Willow Creek’s park to meet new people, get up her Social skill, and fulfill her Social Butterfly aspiration – and after two sessions of wandering around, chatting and playing with her fellow kids and pestering a few adults into considering her a friend (including Sidney – I mean, it DOES feel appropriate that she know her best friend’s father), she succeeded! So on Sunday Reginald baked a hamburger cake, and Breanne aged up into a teenager, taking the Nerd Brain aspiration to get the reward trait that boosts all skill gains slightly and getting a “styled looks” makeover from James that resulted in her liking glittery, polished clothes. So next time she and Addison get to go to school together, yay! :)
B) In between Breanne’s bouts of socializing, Addison got to attend their very first prom, which – did not exactly go well. Despite agreeing to attend with Addison as friends, Hilary did NOT show up on her own and had to be invited there by Addison; Addison didn’t do enough prom activities to get a reward level higher than bronze (though they did vote for royalty, have a snack, and do some dancing with Hilary); and when they went to the pier afterward, not only did Addison try to go in for a kiss on the cuddle carts, only to find Hilary was just falling asleep on them, Hilary nearly froze to death because her prom outfit was NOT suited for a midwinter prom! And also Addison broke curfew and nearly got caught because Sims do NOT understand the concept of sneaking in. Not that I think Reginald could have reprimanded them too severely, because HE set the curfew board on fire with his magic because James accidentally clicked “Inferniate” while seeing if he could rescind the curfew for the night (he could not). Soo yeah. Bit of a bummer first prom for Addison!
C) As for the adults, Kevin didn’t get to do much (except his usual exercising), but Reginald FINALLY got to place his celebrity tile on the Walk Of Fame in Del Sol Valley (inviting along Creepy Teacher just to make sure he was pursuing a different job – apparently now he’s a painter, so hopefully all is well at the school), and he brought Obi to the vet to get an age-up treat (as aging is off in this save right now) and turn him into an adult dog, yay! I think he’s a border collie? He looks kinda like one, anyway. . .or maybe he’s a Sheltie – my aunt has one of those and it has a similar coloration. Anyway, dog grown and tile placed, yay! So those two things can be finally crossed off James’s to-do list.
Aaand – yeah, that was about it! Next time, I assume we follow both Breanne and Addison to school and see how their teenage lives progress from there! I’m looking forward to it. :)
2. Do the second draft of Gigs’s birthday fic: Check – have completed my second run-through of Scraps meeting the dead version of Lightning I invented last year, as requested! Shan’t say more than that, but you’ll get to read the completed fic in a week! :)
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – another Friday with GrayStillPlays and “When you eat the fabric of reality,” aka Gray plays Tasty Planet: Back For Seconds! Today’s video of “Gray finds a way to eat not only humanity, but most of the cosmos” featured Gray playing as a glob of gray goo in the far future. Starting as a blob mere nanometers big, Gray feasted on bacterium, pollen, pebbles, laser ants, laser rats, hoverboards, humanoids, hover cars, hover tanks, various houses and other buildings, random space asteroids, flying saucers, the Moon, the planets, the Sun, various kinds of stars, various kinds of nebulae, various kinds of galaxies, and various superclusters, before finally breaking through into the fabric of reality itself and then devouring all the time turtles. Yes, really. XD Nothing particularly different from other Tasty Planet offerings (in particular, this one felt a lot like the Martian Black Hole/Gray Goo scenario), but Gray’s delight in growing his adorable killer blob with googly eyes to the level of universe-killer, laughing at the ridiculous stuff the game throws at him along the way, always makes it entertaining. :)
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – obviously I’m good on Victor Luvs Alice for the moment, so I just had to do Valice Multiverse. And while I didn’t have any asks or threads to respond to, I was able to find a funny post in the “fo4” tag about a line Ada apparently has about ferals eating humans but not other ghouls – “a little overcooked, perhaps?” XD That is DEFINITELY a joke Alice made that Ada picked up in the Fallout of Darkness universe, as I said in my tags. XD So that’s in the queue for tomorrow over there – it’s something!
Yeah, not a hell of a lot going on, but at least it wasn't too stressful -- I mean, I'm still on my period, the littlest things cause me to rage right now. But hopefully that will be going away over the weekend. . .in the meantime, I have to do the social thing and keep an eye on the weather. Tomorrow is a non-cleaning Saturday, yay -- gonna catch up on my various tumblr tags; play Sims 4 and prep for Victor/Smiler's wedding (with bonus Victor/Alice vow renewal) by putting in the lot I want them to get married at, along with a honeymoon location; write something ("Londerland Bloodlines" or other); and hopefully keep up on the OXBox RE4 Remake as well as Gray's latest nonsense. XD We'll see what happens -- night all! :p
