Despite a worrying start (my parents were both grouchy about computer stuff this morning, and it made things tense), and increasing heat and humidity meaning we had to slap on the AC in the afternoon again, it was actually a pretty good day overall --

Tumblr: Well, my hopes for getting an early start on tumblr stuff were kind of dashed this morning, when I first tried to get onto my dashboard and found the site was down! Er, sort of anyway – you could visit people’s individual blogs, but not the actual main tumblr site. O.o Fortunately, it came back up around noontime, but by then I was in “must keep an ear out for potential early lunch” mode (plus I wanted to make sure my Song Saturday post went up properly first – it did), so I couldn’t do any serious catching-up on tags or the like. Fortunately, though, I was still able to use the time productively –

By finishing up the Chill Valicer Save pictures for the next update on Victor Luvs Alice (Summer Thursday, with them doing chores around the farm and hitting their store again)! I’d gotten about forty done last night before bed, and I was able to wrap up another twenty before lunch. The final five came after lunch (and a burst of Merge Dragons) – and after I’d actually played Sims 4 for the day and done my write-up below, I took some time to get all the starter drafts ready with pictures, first few tags, and a bit of teaser text! :D So I’m ahead of the game there, yay~

Oh, and as for Valice Multiverse – still dead. *shrug* What can you do, other than wait around and see if anyone sends an ask or anything.

Sims 4: The Valicer honeymoon has successfully started! And while it hasn’t gone perfectly so far, the gang has been finding ways to enjoy themselves –

A) First things first, though – the trio couldn’t leave until they’d taken care of the final set of chores around the farm! Have to make sure all the animals have food, all the plants are harvested, all of that. Smiler took on the task of caring for the chickens and Moory after finishing up their repairs of poor busted Bugs – cleaning the chicken coop, spreading feed, milking Moory, and making sure all the animals had enough attention – while Victor and Alice took care of the greenhouse – Alice helping out with the watering while Victor attempted to calm down his irritated bees (no go), got the beeswax and honey, and did some weeding before collecting all the produce (and evolving a few more plants). Nice and simple, right?

B) Well, mostly – as Smiler was milking Moory and Victor and Alice were finishing up in the greenhouse, a thunderstorm moved in. And, of course, Alice had to try and shower in the rain – and then didn’t bother getting dressed again when I told her “no.” *sigh* Freaking Erratic Sims. . .though it was a LITTLE funny to send her to finish up the laundry while she was naked. XD Anyway, I got her back into her clothes and had her take a quick bathroom break before petting Kelly and making sure the pets had food, while Smiler collected Elmer (the bot having wandered into their room to check on Snappy), answered comments on their videos, grabbed their drone to take some vacation videos to upload later, and fixed the downstairs toilet (which broke right after Alice used it). All with me watching them to stop THEM from wandering outside naked (and trust me, they tried!). Fortunately, by the time the toilet was fixed, Victor had finished up with everything in the greenhouse (harvesting, watering, weeding, and spraying for bugs), and I could finally have them head out to their rental in Sulani!

C) . . .where it was raining. *sigh* At least it wasn’t a full-on thunderstorm like at home. . . Anyway, I got everyone inside, and had a tired Alice settle down for a nap on one of the living room couches while Victor let Smiler have a drink. Victor then made some chips and salsa for himself and Alice while Smiler put themselves to the task of upgrading the “master bedroom” bed so it would be better for Victor and Alice to sleep in. Victor had his chips, finishing up just as Alice woke up and came in for her share, then went for a nap himself while Alice, looking for something to do, decided to try a puzzle on the games table out on the back porch! And there’s quite the variety to choose from, let me tell you – you can even take a screenshot of the Sim’s surroundings and do a puzzle from reference! I ended up forgoing that for a classic one-hundred-piecer of a cute dog and cat, aww. Smiler finished up the bed upgrades just in time to join Alice in finishing it up –

D) And as they did, the rain finally stopped, and everybody could go outside and enjoy the – well, the CLOUDS, but still. XD Since sunbathing wasn’t an option (and, interestingly, I learned through clicking on the provided beach towels that, while Smiler can’t tan or burn because of being a vampire, VICTOR also can’t tan or burn – I suspect because he’s using a skintone that came with the Vampires pack, and the game assumes would be, you know, on a vampire), I had everyone do some beachcombing – Alice found a nice scallop shell, while Victor and Smiler unfortunately came up short. Undaunted, I had them try a couple more times as Alice looked for more shells by the water –

E) And then, out of nowhere, the game teleported Felipe Sisson (Victor and Smiler’s mutual friend, was at the wedding last time) to the lot and was like “Felipe thinks Victor is great and wants to be best friends!” O.o What the everloving – I was like “uh, okay, sure?” I mean, Felipe was also one of Victor’s first friends, so. . . *shrug* Anyway, Felipe ended up just hanging out on the island for a bit while Victor and Alice made a sand castle together and Smiler checked out the fishing spot nearby – I finally got Alice to send him home when he started wandering into the house (I’m guessing he wasn’t properly on the lot before then). I just – that is – bizarre? Obviously not the biggest bug, but still, game, what the fuck?

F) Anyway, with Felipe gone and Victor and Alice both feeling tired again, I sent them in for a midday snooze on the newly-upgraded bed while Smiler did some fishing. This proved to be a wise idea on my part as the rain moved back in shortly after Victor and Alice had gone to bed. . .and rapidly turned into – guess what – a thunderstorm! *sigh* I checked the calendar around this time, and apparently my trio have come in during a period of monsoons – only Sunday is apparently supposed to be sunny! *grumbles* Well, at least they’ll have ONE day to get out and explore and take pictures – OH, WAIT, I FORGOT TO GET ALICE HER TRIPOD. You know, so I could have them take proper group photos? I wrote it down as a proper note to myself and everything, but I was so intent on getting the greenhouse harvest in without anything popping into the household inventory. . . *grumbles*

G) ANYWAY – with the weather getting rather iffy, and Smiler only having managed to catch one rainbowfish, I sent them inside to chill out on their laptop for a while, playing Sim Scuffle to entertain themselves. This lasted until Victor woke up, at which point the laptop broke. Fortunately, with Victor up, he could just Repairio the darn thing – Smiler was most appreciative. They set to work on upgrading the laptop to break less while Victor got some more chips and salsa to reward his growling tummy. XD Alice woke up a little while later to grab herself some chips – then, once she was satiated, went outside to play in one of the mud puddles that had formed in the rain – fortunately, the thunderstorm had moved on by this point! XD I let her splash around while Victor took his shower, then she went in to take hers while Victor headed out to do some beachcombing. Still no shells for the poor guy, though. :( Hopefully he finds one before the vacation is over!

H) Fortunately, by this point, Smiler had finished their laptop upgrade, so I sent them outside to build their own sand sculpture with Victor – they did a cowplant head together. XD I decided then that, well, it’s their honeymoon, they probably should be doing ANOTHER couple’s activity together, and sent them inside to woohoo while Alice boogied on the back porch to the retro tunes coming out of the speaker there, then pulled out her “travel easel” and started on a new surreal painting. XD They had a lovely time, though apparently it was so strenuous that Smiler actually FELL ASLEEP for a few minutes. To put this in context, Smiler has the vampire weakness that means they CANNOT sleep in beds. XD Damn, Victor, you wrecked your enby partner, huh? XD Anyway, the pair then wandered out to do some dancing as Alice continued painting, then Victor broke off to do some magical practice (never a bad time to practice your practical spells!). Alice finished up her painting, which proved to be another $12K masterpiece (well, okay, $11,900, but CLOSE ENOUGH), and then went in to use the facilities and take a wolf nap on the living room rug to satisfy her werewolfy instincts. Victor followed shortly after to nap on the bed, and Smiler came in a little while later to watch a gaming livestream on their laptop to pass the time. That put the trio past midnight, and I figured that was a good spot to wrap up with them for this playsession. . .

I) BUT! Just because I forgot to buy Alice her own tripod doesn’t mean I can’t put a tripod in the world for her to use! That’s what I did at the wedding venue, after all! So after saving on their lot, I used Manage Worlds to pop over to Ohan’ali Beach and drop a tripod on its sands, in a spot that should provide an appropriately scenic backdrop to any pictures that may be taken. :) I also took the opportunity to jazz up the small beach by adding an aqua-zip jetski for Sims to ride on, a little toddler kiddie pool for any small Sims who might want to splash around but are afraid of the ocean, and a couple of fancier loungers to the dock area; swapping out the regular community grill for a somewhat-more-fun barrel one; and adding the Sunny Aspect, Bracing Breezes, and Island Spirits lot traits. :) So yeah, the beach now has a little more to do, and a spot for Alice to take the all-important group snaps! :D Hooray!

And THAT is where I left it for the day! Honestly, one of my shorter and more chill sessions, just because of the in-game rain and Victor and Alice needing their sleep. XD Next time, though, I imagine things will be a little more exciting as they get out and about, enjoying the sunshine for however long they have it. Must remember to get at least a couple of fun group shots, some more dual selfies, and some nice general snaps while they’re enjoying their vacation! :)

Writing: Got another page on “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” – Alice listened to Grout’s latest recording (and jokingly accused Wonderland of advising him when he mentioned hearing voices – Hatter in particular was put out by this), then took a look in one of the rooms and was pretty horrified to discover it was a kind of operating theater, with tables surrounded by blood and general unpleasantness all around. *wince* And yeah, it’s just gonna get worse from here. . .I do feel kind of bad now that she’s NOT going to get the chance to try and take down Grout herself. Girl deserves it at this point!

YouTube: Well, didn’t get to the RE4 Remake LP video, but I did manage to knock something OX-related out of my Watch Later and keep up with Gray in the Subs, so, not too bad –

A) First up, from OXtra, “7 Unluckiest Enemies in Soulsborne Games That You Farmed Relentlessly!” A look at those unfortunate enemies who died, got respawned, and died again because they were such good sources of XP for the player. And trust me, it’s bad enough if you’re kind of a scrub enemy (like the Slime Scholars of Bloodborne, who are pretty easy to kill but drop loads of blood echoes) or a reasonably tough enemy who unfortunately can be snuck up on (like the Drakeblood Knight of Dark Souls 3 – is always summoned in the same spot by his summoner, in the perfect position for a backstab) – but the winner of the “Unluckiest Farmed Enemy” has to go to the Giant Lord from Dark Souls 2, who is a boss that people can farm because that game gave players the ability to burn a certain item at bonfires to respawn bosses (admittedly making them tougher in the process), and then put his boss fight near a bonfire and put that item in his little boss area, which RESPAWNS every time you used the previous one. Damn – I’d give him a hug if I wasn’t certain he’d smash me flat.

B) And second up, from GrayStillPlays, “Which vehicle can survive the most damage in GTA 5?” Another Alex Torture Board, this time themed around how well a particular fleet of cars does against various damage-dealing challenges! I guess Alex looked at the way Gray’s cars kept getting smashed to hell in some of his other challenges and went “you know what. . .” XD Anyway, the cars had to make it through “Wall Breaking Resistance” (where they had to smash through various walls – glass, stacked wood pallets, and increasingly-layered plywood), “Rock Fall Resistance” (a narrow corridor where rocks continually fell on the cars – and there were hidden slow-down sticks, meaning Gray couldn’t just pick a fast car and try to blast through), “Fist Resistance” (a trio of areas where a car had to be punched through a plywood floor with a fist to the roadway below, at 50, 60, and 69 “punch force”), “Windmill Resistance” (two areas where the car had to be smacked across a gap by a windmill onto the next roadway, without going off the board), “4th of July Resistance” (a tightrope area with a guy at one end firing fireworks at the car – and again, the very start of the board had a slow-down stick so Gray couldn’t just blast it, though this one DID have curved walls going down to the water on each side, so if Gray fell off he could maybe get back on again), “Trash Compactor Resistance” (a homemade trash compactor where Gray had to park the car in a certain spot against a wall, get crushed by a giant – well, crushing thing, then fall through the gap onto the roadway below when the wall finally disappeared), and “Explosive Resistance” (straight-up Michael Bay shit with a ramp jump through a wall of very explosive barrels). The Wastelander was nowhere to be seen in this challenge, so Gray had to rely on other vehicles – the bright pink “Mommy” meme car actually made it further than Gray expected (through the walls and into the rocks, though it got set very much on fire after the rocks smashed the engine), while the brightly-colored personal mini-tank and a damn near bulletproof vehicle both NEARLY made it to the end, but died to the explosive wall. The winner was a heavy box of a car that could avoid the fist damage by virtue of being heavy enough on its own to smash through the plywood floors and thus had a few more hit points to deal with the challenges afterward – it too succumbed to the explosive wall at first, but after Gray played around a bit (namely by finding out how to use the water to put out fires caused by the 4th of July guy, since this car apparently does not flood out easily), he figure out how to get it to hit just the right spot in the barrels so that it didn’t explode QUITE so much and thus lasted long enough to make it to the final ramp and the win circle. Another epic win by Gray! Who spent most of this board either burning to death or exploding! XD

Yeah, not too shabby -- would have preferred to get that RE4 video in, but -- well. Maybe next weekend. (I'm not gonna hold out much hope for it getting watched tomorrow, if only because long Jon videos are long. . .) In the meantime, I gotta go back to doing the social thing, and get my hoped-for items for tomorrow sorted -- namely, finishing clearing Jamaica Plain and finding the Standishes in Fallout 4 (and maybe even finding the treasure); updating the Playthrough Progression appropriately; keeping up with Gray and Jon on YouTube; and getting as many of my Chill Valicer Save posts drafted on Victor Luvs Alice as I can. Fingers crossed that any rain we get tomorrow is not of the "Massive Thunderstorm" type that wrecks my schedule! Night all!
