Late But Much Less Stressed This Time

crossover_chickWeather is nice (cool enough not to need the AC on!) and I've had a pretty good afternoon all things considered --
Work – Well, the credit card stuff I reported a couple of days ago has now been fixed, fortunately, and I had a very thorough check-in call with the credit card people today about some other stuff that still needs to be looked at (AFTER taking someone else’s credit card payment, because of COURSE that happened right when I was supposed to get into the virtual meeting). Rest of the day was my attempts to contact people (still waiting on some calls) and doing more duplicates. At least it wasn’t a constant slog of looking people up, so the day felt like it went a little faster. And now I just have my last half-day Friday to go, yay~
Beanbags – Weather was gorgeous, so we pulled out the old boards and bags and played a few rounds – and despite a slow start in the first game, I ended up utterly DOMINATING the set. Won all three games, with my final win coming courtesy of a TWELVE on the final throw! That’s all four beanbags in the holes, and NONE of us have managed one before today. :D So that was very nice. As for my poor parents, Mom did pretty well in the first game, while Dad rallied enough in the second and third to take second then. Final scores were me W-W-W; Dad 3-2-2; Mom 2-3-3. This shall probably be a feat never repeated, but it’s nice to have it happen once. XD
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, back with James Turner’s High School Years Rags To Riches Generational Epic with “Here we go, from rags to riches again! High School Years (Part 43)!” This series now focuses on Breanne, since Addison has the “Dine Out Reloaded” series, and it was a busy one for her – namely:
A) She got a career as a freelance fashion photographer, since everyone in the comments was saying that would be the perfect job for her
B) She moved out on her own into a cheap apartment in San Myshuno and set it up as an “it’ll do for now” home/photo studio (James deliberately went a bit cheap with the furnishings to save money), with an eye to eventually buy and renovate the nearby warehouse James built for her and turn it into the perfect home/photo studio
C) She took her first gig to shoot some Sims in swimwear and got Addison, Hilary, and Forrest (Hilary’s little brother) to pose for her – which proved to be a more difficult process than James was hoping, but he got it done and sent the photo off in the mail to be approved
D) She went out onto the street to try and take some pictures of random people with her camera and tripod, and convinced a busker to model a new fashion look – only for her new camera and tripod to just UTTERLY VANISH once James came out of CAS. O.o Well, THAT is a worrying bug! They didn’t come back even after he tried traveling, either – eventually he just rebought the items and refunded the money to Breanne because it’s not HER fault they got sucked into the ether
E) She went and visited Addison’s restaurant – which, let me tell you, does not work NEARLY as well when Addison themselves are not around; poor Breanne had to wait AGES just to get a sparkling apple juice and a blueberry bagel
F) She embraced her slowly-growing fame (she’s already a one-star celeb) and chose some fame perks designed to make it easier for her to get famous from work interactions and socialize with bigger celebrities; she also discovered the hack for getting LOADS of followers on Simstagram is to post a bunch of the same selfie like ten times because there’s a bug that exponentially increases your followers every time you do that
G) She got to know the neighbors (who were a little pissed at her for utterly ignoring their welcome wagon) to get them to pose for her and get more fun pictures
H) AND, probably most importantly – she met Kirk. Who is a single Black dude who James thinks is some sort of eco inspector and whom Breanne found very attractive indeed. She talked him into a date at the one remaining karaoke bar, and they had a pretty good time singing an awful country duet and chatting to each other (though other randos kept trying to join in, because Sims). Now, admittedly, Kirk is both Paranoid and a Loner, but he’s also a Dog Lover, and they’re already getting loads of positive sentiments for each other, so hopefully they can make it work! They already know how to color-coordinate their outfits.
I) Oh, and in other family news, Reginald and Kevin have both aged to adults, and drunk Potions of Immortality so they can live forever; and Addison called Breanne on her date to report via pop-up that they’d found a ring in Hilary’s bag! Breanne promptly urged them to say yes, and so it seems like Addison and Hilary are getting married! :D James is excited to see what their relationship status will actually BE once he gets back to Addison – though I know that it isn’t “already married,” like he kind of feared, because I remember seeing a thumbnail later on in their series showing them getting hitched. :) But yeah, cool, that neatly sets up Addison’s next episode!
Whew – lot going on, huh? But it’s good to see Breanne making it on her own. Now if only the company would send her approved swimsuit photo back so she could post it on Simstagram and thus actually get PAID for her gig. . .meh. We’ll see what happens going forward!

Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – I have officially started Chapter 6, with Victor happily giving Alice maps of the museum (both official ones he’s enhanced, and unofficial ones he sketched after his visit) and telling her all about the various security and what door in the basement he’s pretty sure she’ll need to go through. Alice was a bit O.O over it all. XD But also very appreciative, and we’re getting a lot more Valicey tenderness between them, as they’re both happy to have the other around. Even if that’s led Victor to realize just how horrible and emotionally abusive his parents were, since he was certain they were never happy to see him. *pats him* But hey, it’s made him even gladder he moved so far away, and he’s hopeful he can figure out who he is apart from them. Even if those waters are a little muddied thanks to Alice’s accidental ghoulification of him. :p Next up, though, Victor’s about to pay her giving him her blood back. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Well, no Subs to keep up with today because there was no Gray or Josh, – so instead I watched the latest OXtra list video, “7 Mysterious Secrets That Turned Out to Be Absolutely Nothing!” Luke and Ellen taking us through those video game secrets and weird things that turned out to be – less than impressive. The classic “Mew is under that truck on that weird island in Pokemon Red/Blue” urban myth made an appearance, of course, but we also had the mystery pillar in a secret room in Donkey Kong 64 (which has been speculated as a spot where a gold Kong bust WOULD have rested if it hadn’t been cut), the “closed” door in the Cathedral Ward of Bloodborne (which was later revealed to be an artifact of a cut shortcut between there and the area just behind the Cleric Beast – they removed the shortcut, but didn’t bother removing the door), and even crueler, the locked gate in Mama Dolce’s back loading bay that SAYS you can open it with a key, but no key exists in-game (and when you glitch through it, you end up just walking straight into the Wasteland void). Basically, game designers have to be REALLY CAREFUL about putting scenery around their worlds or leaving in artifacts of things they were GOING to implement but didn’t, otherwise their players are going to get VERY frustrated VERY fast trying to figure out what it all means. :p
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: I’m calling this one a check even if I TECHNICALLY don’t have my Song Saturday in the queue yet –
Valice Multiverse – Checked this EARLY to stop myself being surprised by any sudden updates – had one ask reply, and this post from Marie of edited vines for the Valicer trio plus her character Maddie. Which really made me smile and went straight in the queue. :) Nice!
Victor Luvs Alice – Okay, my intent is that I’m gonna reblog the above vine compilation on this account as well for my “Song” Saturday, but I want to do that AFTER my queued version on Valice Multiverse goes up so I have my own commentary on there as well, so I can’t stick that in the queue here until tomorrow. Did reblog a fun “choose a throuple dynamic” poll onto here, though, so that’s something!
Aaand I'm officially up too late again because getting this stupid mouse to highlight shit is becoming damn near impossible. >( I seriously don't know what's wrong with it. . .but as it stands, I absolutely HAVE to head to bed now. Night all!
