Like, seriously, we had ANOTHER flood watch today! I am getting heartily sick of those by this point! Just, it's so FRUSTRATING to look at the weather and realize it's going to be another miserable day. *grumbles* Fortunately the rest of the week is supposed to be nicer -- more in-line with what it was like yesterday -- but damn. It does not give me much faith in us having another mild winter, that's for sure! But at least I made some good progress on my to-do list --

Work – Well, ended up having a shorter day than usual thanks to all the rain – due to the flood watch, Mom and I both decided that I should come home early just in case. I mean, you guys know how miserable my commute was LAST Monday in all this rain – I did NOT want a repeat! Fortunately my supervisor was cool with me taking an hour and a half of personal time to leave around three and beat the worst of both the traffic and the weather. I kept busy while I was there, though – did the GL, worked through more of that spreadsheet of paused pledges, took a few credit card calls, and did a QC file for an upcoming billing. *nods* And I got home without much issue, so that was good. May have been a little overly cautious, but – again. Didn’t want a repeat of last Monday. We’ll see how the remaining three days of this week goes!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, back with GrayStillPlays’s “I found the best rated mobile games so you don't have to” compilation! I finished up the spider evolution game, got through one of his beloved “stickman bone-breaker games” (where you earn points for tormenting stickmen and smashing their bones in various dangerous courses designed to harm them as much as possible – this one featured Spider-Stick riding a shopping cart into spinning sawblades and a motorcycle through another stickperson and into a wall), and am now watching that one golf game he played where the goal was to send your ball farther and farther around the world, smashing everything in its path, before finally reaching the hole and unlocking new golfers – and eventually new planets! :D Good times – Gray laughing at the utter ridiculousness of so many of these games is great, I love it. :)

2. Continue writing “Home Sweet Lair”: Check – Elder Gutknecht has revealed himself to the trio, and has given them some of his backstory – namely, that he was a Whisper who found out how to leave his body to travel like a ghost. . .only for his body to die while he was out and about – to try and reassure them that he’s not the type of ghost who is going to try and suck their life essence dry. Though he is the type of ghost to get up in Victor’s personal space when he realizes Victor has the ability to sense “spectral energies.” XD Alice is like “hey, be nice, he’s had a day.” XD At least this one IS a Reconciled, Victor – and isn’t trying to marry you. For the moment, anyway. XD

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays tonight, with “How many steps can I climb to space in GTA 5?” Another Alex Torture Board, this one had Gray on foot for a change, with him forced to climb a gigantic staircase to space as the steps got bigger and steeper and the challenges he faced got weirder and weirder – though Alex WAS thoughtful enough to give him various power-ups to make it up (with each new power-up also serving as a checkpoint). Mostly because Gray would have never gotten anywhere without them. Here’s the levels of agony Gray had to make it through –

Level 1 – Happy Wheels: No power-up, each stair increased by 10 centimeters, and Gray’s challenge was avoiding the GTA version of Bike Dad being flung at him at fifty million miles per hour as he climbed – until he needed to steal the bike to teleport up the final step. Because of course he did.

Level 2 – Alien Yeet: Gray’s power-up was the Up-N-Atomizer ray gun (the one that sends people flying instead of putting bullet holes in them, each stair increased by 10 centimeters, and Gray’s challenge was using the ray gun to yeet himself up the steps while avoiding first alien teleporters (if he hit one, he got teleported one step down, and all but the first were moving) and then alien death balls (which didn’t teleport him but could totally shove him off the board to fall to his death). Lots of killer alien fun for everyone to enjoy.

Level 3 – Higher Ground: Gray’s power-up was the Force (specifically, he could lift things up like Yoda lifting Luke’s fighter out of the swamp), the singular stair increased by an entire meter, and Gray’s challenge was to use another alien death ball to lift himself up to the top of the stair – and then take out the Stormtroopers trying to kill him while their little anti-shooty force fields were up. And trust me, these ones did NOT go to Stormtrooper Academy and thus had AMAZING aim! Not surprised this particular challenge was only one step!

Level 4 – Fire Angel: Gray’s power-up was the Magneto Gun (stolen off one of the dead Stormtroopers, used to haul around a giant metal crate), each stair increased by 10 centimeters again, and Gray’s challenge was simultaneously using the crate as a stepping stool to climb up and over each step, AND as a barricade against the titular “Fire Angel” (I’m guessing, since it was the Magneto Gun, this was supposed to be Jean Grey in full Phoenix form) and her incredibly deadly missile launcher. Which got closer and closer the higher and higher Gray got. . .add in the crate getting set on fire by the shots, and you had a TENSE level!

Level 5 – Windmills: Gray’s power-up was the Super Run (allowed him to go super fast in short bursts, though he had to be careful not to yeet himself off the side), each stair increased by 10 centimeters, and Gray’s challenge was to yeet himself up a series of ramps up and over each stair while simultaneously avoiding the windmills embedded in and around the steps trying to fling him to his doom. You know, just a typical day in Graysville!

Level 6 – Smoothie: Gray’s power-up was the Super Jump (allowed him to jump super high – again, had to be careful not to yeet himself off the board), each stair increased by 1 meter (and there were most definitely multiple ones), and Gray’s challenge was to leap up and over each stair while not killing himself on the props of the helicopters that were parked there. Until, again, he got to the end, where he had to jump on the tail of a nearby hovering helicopter without getting blendered, then get onto the final step of that level from there. Which he did on the very first fucking try, so good for him!

Level 7 – Jump On The Tip: Gray’s power-up was windmills (you will understand in a moment), each stair increased by 1 meter, and Gray’s challenge was that the stairs were now too tall even for the powers of the super jump, so now he had to use the windmills in and around the board to yeet himself over each stair! Which included both just jumping on the blades at JUUUUST the right moment, or leaping AROUND the side of a stair onto a windmill on the other side, then from there atop the next stair, or lining up the PERFECT jump on the very TIP of a windmill blade to get up and over the final step and to the win. Weird enough to see Gray on foot, but now he’s working with the windmills? FAKE. XD

Whew – hell of a board, huh? Gray certainly thought so! But he persevered, through all the various bits of falling off and getting smacked around and yeeted and all that, and finally, finally made it to the end, where he threw himself through the winning circle and into the ocean. XD Good work, Gray! And Alex – been a long while since Gray’s been on foot! Maybe we could continue forcing him to do his own parkour instead of relying on the cars? :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – I made good use of my extra free time this weekend to keep up with my dash and tags on Victor Luvs Alice, then to finish off those remaining three Chill Valicer Save posts for this week’s update with image alt text and tags. Got two of them done before my workout, then finished the third after supper, before getting into my writing. :) So THAT’S all set, at least! Still gotta figure out the rest of the week, but – I got enough other stuff in my drafts that that shouldn’t be a problem.

So yeah, weather was miserable, but I got everything I wanted to get done, done. Hooray! :) And now it is time to hit the sack and prepare to do it all again tomorrow. Except I have to stay at work the entire eight hours and hopefully it won't be raining. :p Night all!
