crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
The day started off with not-great news (long story short, the CEO of the company that owns tumblr is a piss-heel), and work wasn't exactly fun either -- fortunately, the evening's been all right, and sitting with my Us and Smileon plushies on my lap has helped my mood. *pats them* Anyway, my day in a nutshell --

Work – “Bleh” Friday, honestly – I spent half the day on the GL (which I didn’t mind so much, except for the part where I found two gifts put under the wrong campaign year – it’s not 2021 if I recall correctly), and then the other half was spent looking at credit card bullshit and experiencing credit card bullshit. And trying VERY HARD to write a minimally-polite e-mail about the credit card bullshit. *sigh* Add in my coworkers discussing politics behind me again and – yeah. Just glad to be home.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – last night on the bike this week, watching “I can't use UNDO for this build” by James Turner! This was a video showcasing a challenge where, once you build or place something, you cannot undo it – it must stay where you put it! You can rotate it around the spot, and you can change the color scheme, but you cannot move it, and you cannot reverse your decision. The only thing you can move is the entire build around the lot. James decided to build a three-bedroom home, and while he is an experienced builder, he suffered a little from not being able to go back and fix mistakes. Like properly lining up the edge of the kitchen island with the edge of the actual wall counters. Or putting the bed in the second, narrowest bedroom sideways against the back wall under the window instead of putting it against the side wall facing into the room and thus making the layout weird. Or remembering to put in a dining table instead of concentrating so hard on making the living room (attached to the kitchen via a spandrel-created arch) look good. XD Even with all that, though, he did pretty well, making a decent-looking house with some cute landscaping. And he did stick a picnic table out the back for any potential families to use. Even if he put the barbecue too close to it right afterward. XD But hey, the house should be functional, and he admitted that it was a little freeing to place an object and then just have to worry with that object being there – no second-guessing decisions! I don’t think I could ever build like that, but I’m glad he enjoyed it. XD

2. Work on the OT3 Week Valicer prompts: Check – wrote up the story for the “Nontraditional Soulmates” prompt, which, of course, was a scene from my own Valicer soulmates AU! Specifically, the scene of Alice arriving at Victor’s flat to actually speak with him (after running away in a panic after their first meeting in the market, described in last year’s Polyship Week prompts) – only for Smiler to open the door and reveal that, oh hey, you have two soulmates, not just one. XD Alice is naturally a bit “bwuh?” over this, but don’t worry, the boy and the enby shall explain more over tea. Offscreen, since I’m not writing a full multi-chapter epic for one prompt. :p

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – back to just GrayStillPlays tonight, with his latest – “When you get hit 448 BILLION miles into the air,” aka Gray plays Bouncemasters! This is one of those “hit this thing as hard as you can, bounce it off obstacles, and try to get the most distance across this cutesy and colorful landscape” games – kind of like that golf game that he played once (which I think might have been made by the same people – the art style looked familiar). In this case, the set-up was a jock polar bear hitting a penguin across the universe, and the goal was to get the penguin super-high (so high it went over the Death Star lurking above the planet), then – upon coming back down – ricochet the penguin off various other animals (like walruses, seals, and orcas) to get as much distance as possible and travel to new “leagues” (like a rainbow world straight out of Mario, or an autumnal landscape Gray decided was Canada) before stopping thanks to getting stuck in the snow, or stuck in a rock, or EATEN BY PIRANHAS. Yes, that was a thing that could happen in this game. O.o Gray of course was determined to be the best that ever was, and so made sure to earn enough money to upgrade EVERYTHING to the max (and replace the bear’s baseball bat with Thor’s hammer, because, why wouldn’t you?) to see how far he could get his penguin to go. His original goal was 50,000 feet, then – after he smashed that – 60,000, then 70,000. . .

And then, on a PARTICULARLY good hit (one that smacked the feathers straight off the penguin), he went up SUPER high, came down SUPER hard – and apparently went UNDER the map (according to the commenters, anyway), causing the game to glitch out and give him basically infinite distance. Gray was – rather surprised, despite wanting to do just that. XD He ended up leaving the game for a while and came back to the game chugging along at like one frame per second as his glitch-penguin continued cruising past 450,000 feet (only coming back into reality once Gray actually ended the video). So – yeah. Mission accomplished for Gray! XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Kinda N/A right at the moment, though I am pleased to report that Marie liked her birthday fic. :) But yeah, nothing really going on on either tumblr, so. . . *shrug* We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

And yeah, that plus game night (card games tonight -- Dad dominated "Sorry Revenge," while I won three rounds of "Scrabble Slam" and Dad managed to take the win for "Hit the Deck") pretty much covers everything. As for tomorrow. . .it's a cleaning Saturday, so that's basically what I'll be doing tomorrow morning (though at least I don't have to worry about washing my blankets this week). Then in the afternoon -- probably gonna hit Sims 4 and either build or try to do one day with the snack stand in my Chill Valicer Save. We'll see which way I lean! (Though not gonna lie, with a patch next week, probable I'll be doing some CVS stuff.) Add in keeping up with GrayStillPlays and writing more OT3 Week Valicer prompts, and that should do it for my Saturday. :) Hopefully it all goes well -- night all!
