Busyish Monday Back

crossover_chickHad a fair amount to do my first day back on the job and back to my regular weekday schedule. At least the weather was nice -- still sitting here with my windows a bit open. :) Dunno how long this will last, but I will take it! For now, though, here is the write-up of my day --
Work – A busy first day back, but not a horrible one, thankfully – I caught up on my e-mails; I did the GL; I caught up on some returns; I did two QC files for upcoming pledge billings on our two campaigns; I took a couple of credit card calls and I got on some Easter Collection. *shrug* Made the day go by at a decent clip, which was good! Now I just have to figure out what I’m doing the rest of the week. :p
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and back with the GrayStillPlays Happy Wheels compilation “When you live a life of endless pain!” Today’s boards included Gray taking on LEGOs both in a pogo escape and a rope swing (the former was much easier than the latter); Gray watching a Don’t Move that proved to be much more violent than expected at the end; Gray taking on a variety of nasty rope swings (including the world’s spikiest thumbnail hole and one that had a lot more layers to it than expected); Gray doing some twisty-turny harpoon dodges; and Gray showing off more Dylan Snider boards, including “$1 vs $1,000 Parkour” (which saw Gray having to ride across garbage to avoid spikes and then duck under a wrecking ball with a crossbow-man riding it) and the “Twitter Takeover” board (which I ended up finishing after supper since I didn’t want to start tomorrow in the middle of the level – this was actually the transition from Classic Dylan (and his old teen avatar) to Modern Dylan (and his new more adult avatar)). Good stuff, as always – Happy Wheels is always good for Prime Gray Pain. XD
2. Continue editing “Start At The Beginning...Sort Of”: Check – yes, decided to go back to this story today just so I could finish off edits on Chapter One! The trio have officially all met, with Alice and Smiler helping Victor (now that they’re assured he’s not a ghost, just being pursued by one) over to the Mangled Mermaid with them so he can be wrapped in a blanket and given something to eat, poor guy. So now I’ve got the prologue and Chapter One all ready to go. :D First bit of the story should go up this week!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays today, with “GTA 5 but my raft upgrades every 5 minutes!” AKA a raft-based Torture Board for Gray to brave today. Said board was divided into three challenges, each featuring a different raft and a different brand of nonsense to drive Gray slowly mad –
I. The DIY Raft – Gray had 69 seconds to get through an obstacle course consisting of weaving through a variety of small cylinders (some of which were spinning around or rising up and down out of the waves), blowing out plywood walls, slipping through cutouts, and basically having to time everything damn near perfectly to make it around before time ran out. All on a raft made out of a log, some barrels, a bit of rusty rebar, a prop jammed on the back, and some guns jammed on the front. As you might imagine, he had a bit of a time – especially whenever he went off the side of the board and ended up falling through the janky ocean beside him. Or teleporting onto the pier for no reason in one notable instance. XD But he kept at it and managed to make it through all the nonsense and into the teleporter! And then got to blow up the raft with about a dozen grenades. XD
II. The DIP Raft – Gray had an unspecified amount of time to take his new giant “sub” raft and sail it through a narrow channel full of various barriers that he had to submerge under to past – hence why it was the “DIP” raft. This ended up being the easiest challenge for Gray just because the raft got stuck on something near the bottom of the board at one point, came up hard, and actually ESCAPED the whole challenge by going over the wall! Meaning all Gray had to do was duck the “stems” of the wind turbines they’d stuck near the end of the board and go around to the teleporter from the outside because they foolishly forgot to put up invisible walls. XD You’d think they’d learn by now that if Gray finds a way to cheat, even accidentally, he’s DOING IT. XD
III. The Boat Raft – aka “Cross GTA Map, but in a raft boat and chaos happens every 15 seconds!” Yup, Gray had to take the boat raft across the starting inlet, down the river that runs across most of the map, and into the ocean on the other side, dodging the various obstacles that had been shoved in his way (like bouncing tugboats, surfacing submarines, and The Required Wind Turbine) and dealing with the nonsense of the chaos mod. Some effects were harmless (painting the rest of the vehicles green, popping tires Gray didn’t have), while others were less so (forcing Gray to stay above 50 MPH if he didn’t want to explode, replacing his raft with a sinking tow truck), and still others were simply INFURIATING (Gray, after multiple failed attempts to launch the Boat Raft over the island where the win was, finally lining things up – only to get “Teleported to Heaven” and end up basically RIGHT BACK AT THE BEGINNING). Gray persevered through all the pain, however, and EVENTUALLY got a lucky hit of “Low Gravity” just as he was doing his jump, allowing him to FINALLY put his nose through the winning circle and end his pain! XD Whew – you know it’s good when Gray seriously sounds like he wants to put his foot through his computer. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Substitution check – since I’m technically good for now on Victor Luvs Alice, I instead focused on getting Moose’s messages answered. *nods* So I’m all set there for a little while again! Ball’s in your court, Moose. :p
Other: My Blades In The Dark dice and my folding dice tray came today! :D Almost a full week early, yay~ Took me a while to wrestle the dice in their protective foam block out of their box so I could test rolling one, but I got there in the end. Now if I want to roll for anything in my upcoming Valicer In The Dark stories, I can. :D
Yeah, not too shabby a Monday, I suppose. . .but now I really have to get to bed, for I am le tired and need my sleep. :p Night all!
