Decently Chill Friday
Jun. 14th, 2024 11:49 pmI've had much worse ones, to be sure, and I got a good amount done --
Work – Another very quiet day to end the week – had the GL, one credit card call (and one call from a donor who’d forgotten he gave a one-time gift), some duplicates to merge and deceased to mark, and some failed credit cards to note, but other than that, freaking DEAD. Like, seriously, so freaking dead. I have resorted to stealing the daily puzzle page from the newspaper to keep myself occupied when I can’t find something else to do. It is somewhat annoying, but – as I have said in the past, “boring” is better than “stressed.” *shakehead* At least the commutes today were a lot better!
As for beanbags, none today because it was humid and threatening to rain by the time I came home – we’ll pick up again with that tomorrow, since it’s supposed to be beautiful. Fingers crossed!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – last night on the bike this week, getting through –
A) The second half of “I finally got an alien in Every Occult Challenge! - Part 6” by James Turner! What happened in this half of the video? Well –
I. James was able to get Bailey, Semaj, and Tom to fish up another salmon so Bailey could make the Forced Friendship potion for Semaj – Semaj then proceeded to abuse that to make friends with the Wildfang and Moonwood Collective packs (though, hilariously, it was at the Moonwood Collective where he had trouble getting that interaction to fire because the werewolves around him kept getting into fights XD). He couldn’t use the power of the potion on Greg (and James decided NOT to abuse Social Bunny for once to make things easier) – fortunately, being an ordinary Sim, Semaj had an easier time talking to Greg than he would have if he’d been an occult Sim himself, and a few hours of dedicated conversation had them become friends. :) Meaning the ability to get a werewolf into the family was officially unlocked, and Semaj (with more Forced Friendship fun) got Lou from the Wildfangs to move in! Amusingly, Lou happened to be an active university student as well as a werewolf – James ruled that Lou could go to classes and stuff like that, but James wasn’t interested in pursuing his academic career beyond that. XD (To be fair, university takes up a LOT of a Sim’s time, so I don’t blame him.)
II. James, however, was not able to get a new Forbidden Fruit of the Plantsim from the bean portal tree this episode, despite taking a few days off work to explore the portal – instead, he kept getting stuff like elements and fossils from his excursions. And while the two Forbidden Fruit trees are growing, they’re not growing particularly quickly. . . Ah well, sorry James!
III. Other happenstances of note included the poor Servo bot breaking down a couple of times due to losing durability in the rain (fortunately Nalani was on hand to fix her every time, because I think James would have been extra mad if his Servo died); James continuing to fight with Vlad about reading those archaeology books (though he was also able to get Vlad to start working on the practical aspect by having him use the archaeologist table to check on Semaj’s fossils); Semaj getting abducted by aliens again (I don’t think he’s pregnant, though); and James getting the whole house to play the lottery – only to lose to the fucking Night Wraith. XD The only thing worse would be losing to the Tragic Clown!
So yeah, that’s that episode of the “Every Occult Challenge” wrapped up! Next time we drop by, HOPEFULLY Semaj can achieve his plant Sim dreams, and we’ll see what Lou gets for his special space on the lot!
B) The entirety of “Everything You Need To Know About The Secret Society And Sprites | The Sims 4 Discover University” by Petey Plays It! A guide to how you join The Secret Society (aka the Order of Enchantment) at University (hint – get some pretty awesome things to donate to your school’s special statue), what you get out of the deal (cool robes, a fancy mask, and the ability to call on sprites for special mood bonuses), and how to level up your rank (make sure to leave offerings and socialize with your fellowcultists Order members at gatherings!). Something short and sweet to end out my time on the bike. :)
2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Victor and Alice have made it into Hannah’s apartment, and Hannah – dazed with fever – has mistaken Victor for Paul, with Victor turning out to be only too willing to play the part and comfort the poor sick woman. Which, on the minus side, puts him in close range to Hannah and thus risks him getting sick, but on the plus side, means that Hannah is speaking very freely to him about where she picked up her current cruddiness. Alice has slipped invisibly into the bedroom to listen in on the conversation herself, and has just learned that Hannah is an escort, and believes she picked up the illness from her last client, one Jezebel Locke. A woman who Hannah was very interested in, despite not actually being bisexual. . . Yeah, Alice is going to have a LOT of reasons to hate Jezebel very very shortly. Good thing part of this quest chain is killing the bitch!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays again tonight, with “Testing hypersonic sheep in Chuck the Sheep!” This one was another one of those “launch the thing and see how far you can go, then upgrade your launch vehicle of choice to see if you can go even farther” games – in this particular one, you were a sheep (the titular Chuck), and you had to take your homemade plane across many different landscapes (from snow to deserts to magma) to find a place where sheep were “safe” from shearing (which is honestly a necessary thing for domesticated sheep, so call us when you feel too hot to move, Chuck!). The twist on this one was that you didn’t just directly earn points or anything – instead, you had to navigate through the skies, using your shield and armor to protect yourself from various dangers, and pick up various resources, from dirt and water just hanging in the air, to wood from crashing into trees closer to the ground, to meat from just obliterating the birds in your way. XD Then you used those resources to upgrade your plane (wings, engine, booster, armor, wheels, you name it) to travel higher and father, grab more stuff, and get to the end. You could also do quests to earn XP to level up and get more free stuff, and go through hoops to earn cards to turn in for more resources. It was a surprisingly-involved game, all things considered! But Gray thoroughly enjoyed it – especially all the bird murder. XD Hey, the engines and boosters kept demanding meat to function! (...let’s not think about why.)
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check again –
Victor Luvs Alice – Had a thought at work today about the Valicer In The Dark trio negotiating a job with a client after a wild equivalent-of-night before, and the client spotting a love bite on Victor’s neck – only for a panicking Victor to blurt out “a ghost bit me,” to the deep amusement of Alice and Smiler. XD So naturally I had to add that to the next Valicer In The Dark Not-Incorrect Quote collection post I have hanging around in my drafts, along with a follow-up scene of Smiler asking Victor if he wanted more ghost bites later, and Victor saying only if the ghosts bit him in less visible places. XD I’m sorry, this is one of those things that will never not be funny to me, so I have to inflict it on all of you.
Valice Multiverse – One ask for the queue from Satirical Demon, where he was playing a “Paranoia Core” talking about a three-inch-wide hole in Siberia that goes straight to hell, and how something is trying to widen it. Aperture!Victor was like “why do you have to exist.” XD
Not too shabby, I think! Now if only it was less humid. . . *shrug* Anyway -- tomorrow is a Cleaning Saturday, so that'll be taking up much of my morning. Other things I'd like to get to are working some more on my Ministry of Joy nightclub in Sims 4; try and get some of the OXBoxtra lists piling up in my Watch Later OUT of my Watch Later; edit some more on "Start At The Beginning...Sort Of;" and if possible, work some more on tumblr drafts. *nods* Hopefully all achievable goals -- we'll see how the day goes! Night all!
