Reasonably Productive Tuesday Evening
Jun. 25th, 2024 11:46 pmMight as well dive straight into the to-do list, as I don't really have much to say about the day outside of it --
Work – Another quiet day, without even any credit card calls to break things up this time. I once again looked for whatever roster maintenance I could do and worked on crosswords from the paper, all while wishing I didn’t have to just SIT there, bleeeh. *sigh* Well, at least I don’t have to just sit there tomorrow!
As for beanbags, it was hot today, but NOT humid, so we managed to get in a game. Dad as usual was the best, while Mom and I kind of traded off being the worst – she lost twice, but also managed a win, which is more than I got, sooo… Final scores were me 2-3-2; Dad W-2-W; Mom 3-W-3. We’ll see what happens tomorrow!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with the GrayStillPlays compilation “GTA 5 but chaos happens 142 minutes straight!” Got through all of video #2 (which was an earlier “travel the map while dealing with chaos” board Alex made, where the chaos happened every THIRTY seconds, which was still enough to ruin Gray’s life) and the beginning of video #3 (an even earlier “travel the map while deal with chaos” board – but this one was made by Alex AND Danny, and featured Gray having to deal with Danny’s “trap” chaos effects every time he got close to a checkpoint (like mystery invisible teleporters whenever he tried to parachute into the first checkpoint) AND the chaos getting worse and worse every time he got one of the five checkpoints). Delightful stuff – it’s always great to see Gray raging against the chaos when it screws him over. XD AND exulting when he’s able to make use of it to get to his goal faster, admittedly, let’s be fair. :p
2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check plus! Because not only did I get my LB:DQ editing done, I got some bonus Valicer In The Dark-related writing done as well –
A) First up, before supper, I quickly edited the main “Valicer In The Dark” doc with the updated objective for the “get into Lord Rowan’s house to stop him stealing our greenhouse now that it’s nice” score that I came up with while I was in the shower (now they have to physically steal the deed out of the safe in his bedroom); some information on Lord Rowan himself (he’s basically the scummy landlord of all of Six Towers now that he’s the only permanent lord left, and does not like the Three Pillars showing up and trying to IMPROVE things in his slum); and a new bit of Duskwall slang I came up with recently – “prefers the rearward side of the Coin,” which means the person being talked about is gay. Because I didn’t want to forget any of it when I started on the LB:DQ stuff. *nods* Worldbuilding!
B) And then, after supper, I edited another chunk of Chapter Two of “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland!” Alice has made it into Jezebel’s room, only to have to deal with Jezebel doing some creepy flirting while also hitting Alice with a load of Presence to make her see her as strikingly beautiful. Fortunately, Alice being gray-ace AND still pissed at Hannah’s death has allowed her to keep a clear-enough head to pull her knife. Shame that Jezebel also has a knife...and is about to show off the other side of Presence to poor Alice...
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check, usual Twosday Two –
A) First up, we had Josh Way and “STREAM TIME: Nimona + Hit Man Netflix Reviews!” Which was Josh pontificating in his car (as he so often does now) about the latest things he watched on Netflix. His reviews can be summed up as “I had a good time watching this story about a techno-medieval world featuring a knight on the run for a crime he didn’t commit with a new shapeshifter friend with my daughter, though the dialogue made me cringe slightly because it sounds like how people talked on the Internet in 2019” for Nimona, and “I wanted to like this movie about a nerdy guy who becomes a fake cool hitman for the police to help them with stings, only for things to go off the rails when he meets one particular potential client, but the main character didn’t have NEARLY enough set-up as a loser to start and the whole thing goes from grounded to completely farcical by the end, so this feels like a misfire to me” for Hit Man. AKA a recommendation for the first movie, not so much for the second. *shrug* Something to keep in mind for those of you with Netflix, I suppose!
B) And second up, we had GrayStillPlays and “When school is out for summer,” aka Gray plays Happy Wheels! :) We started with the usual bottle flip (which saw Gray get things like Timmy (which launched a Young Tom Hardy across the board), the Pineapple of Pain, and the shoutout about seven times thanks to Alcoholism), then proceeded through “Bike Race” (with Bike Dad working those legs hard to get ahead of a hobo on a stolen bike); “Rope Swing Sky” (which saw Segway Nixon having to rope swing through the clouds – which was harder than anticipated as his limbs kept ripping off); “The Obstacle Course” (a green-themed obstacle course featuring spike ceilings, children swinging on chains, a full-featured daycare for Tom complete with a secret win, and a boss battle against the hobo whom Bike Dad didn’t give any change to earlier that proved to be pretty tough (involved a lot of careful dodging of blades and harpoons)); a brief bottle run (which even more briefly turned into a “don’t move” because I guess the creator wanted to show off his “don’t move” board skills); “Secret Agent” by Explorer Guy real (where Segway Nixon became a secret agent braving the horrors of an underground lab and avoiding being turned into stone with an eggplant gun); another one of those “99% impossible” pogo jump boards (Gray had a little trouble with getting his groin to absorb all the crossbow bolts, but he managed it after a few tries); Bike Dad and Tom Hardy running from a giant onion ring (Gray thought he’d straight-up outrun the thing on his first attempt – he was very very wrong); “Ram 6” (featuring Bike Dad and Tom Hardy having to beat up men with swords and Spider-Man masks, cannons, and a Segway Nixon with either a black crown or a very interesting toupee); and “Summer Vacation” by Dylan Snider (a simple board where Gray just had to drive a whole pack of Tom Hardys wielding deadly super soakers out of the school and onto the streets, before Dylan sent them all plummeting into the underworld). XD Ah, it’s always good to see Happy Wheels make a reappearance on the channel – especially when you get some genuinely clever or challenging boards. Hoping Explorer Guy real becomes a semi-regular creator on here, he seems to have both the skills and the snark. :P
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –
Victor Luvs Alice – All five of the Chill Valicer Save posts are in the queue, ready to fire off tomorrow. :) Now I just have to figure out what’s going up for the rest of the week… I also made a point to reblog a few posts tonight (a poll on if you ever mute the music in a video game to listen to your own stuff or not – I was, uh, not aware that was a thing?; a friend’s fanart for Dead Boy Detectives featuring Edwin and the Cat King; and the friend’s reblog of another friend’s GoFundMe for her cat’s dental surgery :( ), though doing so led me to discover that, weirdly, my own posts are no longer showing up on my dash. O.o Like, they EXIST, if I go to look at my own tumblr blog they are definitely there (hell another friend reblogged the cat GoFundMe off me), they’re just not showing up for me on my main dashboard. Bizarre. O.o Webbed site!
Valice Multiverse – Nothing really going on here (other than, again, my own posts not showing up on my dash), so I found an RP meme where people send you emojis to ask specific questions about your muses and threw that in the queue. Because while I’m not really expecting THAT much engagement, I wanted SOMETHING in there, and maybe someone will send me something that I can answer about Victor or Alice or Smiler or the like. :)
Not too shabby. :) And now I have a few minutes to myself, as I took the day off tomorrow, and while there will be Activities (I have a dentist visit, and after that Mom wants to go mini-golfing), they don't actually start until 11 AM, so while I don't want to get to bed TOO late, I can also stay up for a bit. :) So yeah. Probably gonna focus on getting some of the videos out of my Watch Later with any extra free time I have tomorrow, though if I can sneak in a little time decorating the Chill Valicer Save's new barn basement in Sims 4, I won't say no. We'll see how things shake out! Night all! :)
