Somewhat More Chill Thursday

crossover_chickAlso somewhat less humid in the end, though it was still pretty hot and fairly sticky...and tomorrow and Saturday it's supposed to rain, so we can't even really enjoy it. Meh. But it was a fairly decent day overall, with less frustrated Vicky times --
Work – Quieter day at work – did some more roster maintenance, took a credit card update call, fended off a telemarketer, and tried not to listen to my coworkers yammering on about politics as I burned through some crossword puzzles taken from the paper. Nothing particularly exciting, though it was a little less annoying than yesterday – helped by the fact that my commute was a lot better. Really feels like getting out that couple of minutes earlier does make all the difference sometimes… And only a half-day tomorrow, yay! Hopefully it won’t be too irritating.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with “I completed the Every Occult Challenge! - Part 8” by James Turner! And this portion of the video could very accurately be described as “JUST CHAOS.” XD Specifically, the following happened:
A) After getting settled in their new temporary digs (with James using the power of “bb.moveobjects on” to get their crystal charging grid in a place where NPCs couldn’t swipe it), James ATTEMPTED to use the power of clubs to get everyone to start helping Vlad excavate the local dig sites, but found that he wasn’t allowed to do club gatherings on a rental lot. This annoyed him greatly. XD At least he was still allowed to put everybody in a big group to get them to move around as a unit!
B) James then sent everyone to the marketplace to stock up on supplies, with Semaj clearing out a table of fire foam and other such repellent sprays while James made sure Vlad had the machete and the spider repellent that had been gifted to Servo, of all people. XD He also got Bailey to do a quick Copypasto of her earrings so they’d have a full set of eight, ensuring everyone would have their need-boosting jewelry to thrive in the jungle. (She had to do it twice, as the first time sent the new earrings to the void that is Household Inventory – inaccessible on a vacation – but she did do it!)
C) After some more excavating in their “home” neighborhood (and the revelation that Bailey can apparently Copypasto dig piles – that too is in the household inventory, so James can’t do anything with it, but it’s an interesting revelation), James finally got the group to start heading into the jungle, looking for more dig sites and hopefully the relic top and bottom they needed –
Where everyone promptly started getting attacked by EVERYTHING EVER. Seriously – somebody was either getting bit by spiders, or stung by bees, or lit on fire by fire-flies, or attacked by plasma bats, just about every second. And James failed every chance card for moving onto a new area. And, once night fell, the fact that it was a full moon pushed Lou over into a werewolf rampage, leading him to terrorize everyone around him (and causing him and Vlad to end up despising each other). James found it all hilarious, and rightly so. XD (Less hilarious was him having to send Semaj all the way back to headquarters to shower to top up his Water need, but still. Pretty funny.) And hey, even WITH all the chaos, Nalani did manage to unearth the Death relic base that they need to eventually turn Semaj into a skeleton from one of the dig sites! :D So now they just have to find the top! I left off with them at the temple, with Vlad setting up dig sites for everyone to excavate and James finding out that this particular temple configuration has a pool, much to his relief. We’ll see how long it takes them to find the particular top they need, and if anyone ends up dying before the end of this vacation from spider bites or fire-fly fires, tomorrow! XD
2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice, after grumbling about how her fellow vampires talk about ghouls as lesser, had her revelation about who the “blood-collared one who walked with death” Rosa told her about before is (Victor, her accidental ghoul who took a trip to the afterlife once courtesy of a corpse bride). Which at least makes her feel better about asking him to live with her when they barely know each other. :p I left off with her arriving home and bringing Victor up to date on what happened with Jezebel, and being brought up to date with what happened between him and the CDC (fortunately, it does not look like he got infected with the Death Cult Plague). One more page to go, and then we’ll have this wrapped up! :D
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check plus – caught up with Josh’s stuff (while noting Gray’s latest compilation vid – GTA V myth-busting, nice) and got in some Sims vids as well –
A) First up, yesterday’s Josh Way – “SCREEN TIME: Kinds of Kindness!” In which Josh reviews the movie that he actually spoilered in his “GRAB BAG” video a few days ago. XD Released these in the wrong order, eh Josh? But it was good to hear more about the movie itself – it’s an anthology flick, featuring the same cast playing different characters across three thematically-linked stories: one about a guy whose boss controls everything about his life, and what he will do to keep said boss happy; one about a sheriff whose marine biologist wife is miraculously found and returned after being lost at sea – only for him to suspect things aren’t as clear-cut as all that; and one about some people in a sex cult looking for a prophesied “chosen one” who can raise the dead. Josh liked it, because this kind of stuff is his jam and he really likes the director, but warned that it’s not for everyone and that is rather effed up. And, of course, there was that moment he spoiled in the “GRAB BAG” video that was really in poor taste, let’s say...but if you like anthology stuff that is weird, this might be for you!
B) Then it was over to the Recommendeds for “The Sims 4 Lovestruck: Official Gameplay Trailer!” Yup, the second trailer for the new expansion is out, and – my reaction so far is “hmmm.” Because while some stuff does look fun (I’m open to having bedroom games and a romance blanket, and proper turn-ons and turn-offs), I’m not seeing anything that looks better than the mods I already have, and the new dating system – looks like the wedding system from My Wedding Stories. A pack that is on my “NEVER BUY” list because it was released in an essentially unplayable state and still does not function as intended. *grimacing* I am so glad the “romantic boundaries” stuff (which should allow basic polyamory) will be an update, because it’s looking more and more like I might give this pack a miss.
C) And I ended up rewatching “Complete Guide To Nectar Making | The Sims 4 Horse Ranch” by Petey Plays It (all about nectar making, types of nectar, how they affect Sims, and how to get the most out of creating it) because I realized recently that nectar generally gives Sims really strong positive moodlets, and thus should probably be the money-making skill for my Smiler Sim in any future Tiny Town save files. They are going to get very rich very fast, I feel. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check on both my blogs –
Victor Luvs Alice – I finished up the text and tags on my Song Saturday post featuring “Fearless” by the Goo Goo Dolls, talking about how it makes me think of my Valicer In The Dark crew. A good follow-up to Friday’s post featuring a link to the latest chapter!
Valice Multiverse – Threw a generic “ask me about my muses, or my muses about themselves, or about the worlds they live in” post into my queue since it’s been dead quiet over there and I wasn’t seeing anything I particularly wanted to reblog in my tracked tags. *shrug* Dunno if it’ll result in anything, but I tried!
*nods* Yeah, that's not bad at all. And it's nice to not feel completely frustrated and stressed out, that's for sure. :) And now it is time for me to go to bed so I can be at least somewhat rested for my half day tomorrow. Hoping to spend the afternoon catching up on some OXBoxtra stuff before my workout and game night! Night all!
