Tired Monday
Jul. 15th, 2024 11:55 pmI unfortunately didn't sleep particularly well last night despite getting off a bit earlier, bleeh. :( One of those nights where it was super-hard to get comfortable. Hoping tonight is better! But I did eventually fall asleep, and then I got up and made it through the day --
Work – Pretty quiet Monday back – I did the GL (what little of it there was), sorted through the exceptions (turns out most of them were already taken care of in one way or another), took a couple of phone calls (people updating expiration dates and checking on pledges), and eventually started messing around with my puzzle pages again. *shrug* I imagine it’ll get a bit busier once we get the go-ahead to start processing properly again, but we’ll see!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with my friend Squid’s Baldur’s Gate 3 cutscene movie starring their character Runa – Act II, Part 1! Tonight’s adventures saw Runa and company learn more Githyanki lore about Orpheus, Prince of the Comet (Lae’zel was very dismissive); find a secret horrible lab; destroy a cursed ritual circle for making creepy shadow lamps (with Gale getting a little subtle pat on the back from Mystra for doing so); find a drow woman with an interest in making potions from blood and getting chomped by vampires – Runa indulged the former, but not the latter, insisting the woman accept Astarion’s “no” when he gave it; find the tiefling prisoners and learn that the Ironhand Gnomes imprisoned with them were planning a break; find the Ironhand Gnomes (including that guy their friend/perpetual rescuee Barcus has been looking for, Wulbren) and help them escape by getting Wulbren’s hammer back; assisting in the escape and getting the assorted prisoners back to Last Light, where there were a number of happy reunions; get a lovely new robe from Alfira for reuniting her with her best friend/beloved (not sure which, but they are “two tiefling queens” so :) either way); discover Rolan had gone out to look for his friends and hurry off to rescue him from the shadows so he could reunite with them (and then get him and his friends to stop shouting at each other because their worry was expressing itself as anger); and see Barcus and Wulbren reunite – only for Wulbren to be a bit of a dick to poor Barcus because he’s much more interested in whatever the Ironhand Gnomes are planning to pull in Baldur’s Gate to earn their respect back (apparently their ancestors stupidly sided with a Bhaalspawn – aka the progeny of the literal GOD OF MURDER – years and years back, and the current generation is still paying the price). Also Runa and Astarion had a tender moment in camp where Astarion thanked her for respecting his “no,” since it was never respected before. :) Good stuff, especially when he got his first hug in what was clearly a long, long time. We’ll see what adventures the gang gets up to from here tomorrow!
2. Start the final posting edit of “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” Chapter Two: Check – got to this a bit later than I really wanted, but I’ve made it through the first part of the chapter, fixing typos and tweaking phrasing in Victor’s opening POV section and Alice’s meeting with LaCroix to get her double duty of “find the plaguebearers” and “go see Grout after you’re done with that.” Left off with Alice and Victor having just reunited, and Alice taking Victor to the Skyeline – tomorrow, we’ll see how much of the exposition I can get through! XD
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays today, with “When your job is ending humanity,” aka Gray plays Tsunami Run! As you might guess from the title, it’s a runner game, but rather than being the usual “you’re something running along a track in the void, collecting items to pile up or make yourself bigger or whatnot,” in this one, you’re a water-based natural disaster (Gray played as the titular tsunami, a killer waterspout, and a shark that would put Jaws to shame), and you’re wrecking boats and avoiding islands in order to build yourself up to Catastrophe level! Whereupon you grow to gigantic proportions with the help of a few taps and wreck a bunch of buildings in the hopes of knocking down the “boss” building at the end (options included the Statue Of Liberty, some sort of fancy Roman architecture building, and a Japanese palace). Oh, and the ocean you’re traveling in can range from regular water, to poison, to lava, to straight-up blood. And occasionally fun combos, like lava blood! XD Gray had a lot of fun, and despite initially rejecting the shark, ended up deciding that it was his favorite disaster skin after a few goes with it. XD I mean, there’s just something about giant sharks, you know?
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just Victor Luvs Alice today, though I had a good amount of dash stuff to catch up on. Ended up reblogging two McFlyJuly fics (one about how the dinner scene with the McFlys at the beginning of the first movie went in the LONE Pine timeline – everyone was much more supportive of Marty, for a start – and the other about how Mountain Dew Hat guy got his hat, written by Moose (hi Moose!)) and one post about shipping regarding “normalizing” shipping characters who never interact (a subject near and dear to my heart with my crossover OTP and OT3) while I was at it too. But I DID get to my planned Wednesday reblog, and I DID finish it up with my thoughts on Smiler’s money-making skill, how I want to develop the Crumbling Isle, and some of the “rules and regulations” I want to put into place for the challenge (like using specific lot challenges to sell the idea that, at least at the beginning, the Tiny Towners are working with untamed wilderness). Good stuff – I look forward to developing it further! In a new post, because these reblogs are getting long. XD
And that's about that! So it is time for me to head to bed and hope sleep is less of a pain in the ass tonight. Got the AC cranked against the heatwave outside, so hopefully that'll help -- night all!
