The heat continues unabated, because why wouldn't it? Fortunately today I only had to be out in it the minimum amount -- no getting extra sweaty from having to refill my car's gas tank! That being said, I'll be looking forward to when this heat breaks a bit -- it's rough when it's this humid, bleeeh. But I still made it through the day with minimal setbacks --

Work – Another quiet day on the job – I did the morning reports (plus the GL since my coworker came in late – I mean, it was three pages, so…), took a few credit card update calls (and e-mailed a couple of other people to let them know their pledges were not on automatic payments like they might expect), and did a little roster maintenance. And crosswords. Lots of crosswords. *sigh* We’ll see what tomorrow brings!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and back to my friend Squid’s Baldur’s Gate 3 cutscene movie starring their character Runa – Act II, Part 1! Runa and company wrapped up their conversation with Wulbren (who refused to reveal his plans to make Baldur’s Gate respect the Ironhand Gnomes again, but did let slip that his friendship with Barcus is mostly on Barcus’s side, oof), then continued their adventures! Which involved a lot of sorting through books to read in the game. XD But it also involved Runa having a drink with The Brewer (a monstrously bloated creature in a bar), telling him stories and gulping down vile liquid until he overindulged and, basically, burst; Runa discovering that said Brewer used to be a bit of an alchemist and was working on a deadly poison – and if Runa could find the lost parcel containing the final ingredient he’d needed, she could complete it; locating the ledger of the old owner of the tavern and bringing it back to that creepy guy from a while back who wanted to judge said owner for selling out her friends to a Dark Justicar; Runa standing in judgment over the woman while the guy had her possess his body – after hearing her reasoning (you were supposed to report EVERYTHING to the Dark Justicars, even drunken complaints, but she didn’t realize the Justicar would make her friends STAB THEMSELVES TO DEATH), Runa had her stab herself a couple of times in the stomach as penance (the creepy guy was pleased, if a bit miffed that it was him who had to bleed); the gang meeting Ketheric’s skeleton dog Squire (adorable! For a heavily-armored bunch of bones); Runa having to cycle through pretty much ALL OF HER COMPANIONS until one of them passed the religion check to interpret a piece of paper talking about a ritual they’d found (thanks Wyll!); Runa inadvisedly sticking her hand in a crack full of mind flayer creepy shit and nearly getting caught by some tentacles (Gale and Astarion were both like “shall we leave this shit alone in future?”); and the gang meeting a woman who got the power of mind control from the Absolute and used it to make a gnoll (a usually-evil hyena creature) a nice guy – until his heart gave out trying to fight her power. Fun! We’ll finish off the last few minutes of this tomorrow, then move onto James Turner’s “Every Life Stage” challenge miniseries! :D Looking forward to it!

2. Continue the final posting edit of “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” Chapter Two: Check – I’m up to page 16 out of 44 by LibreWriter’s count, having gotten through Alice and Victor checking out Alice’s new apartment, Alice telling Victor the deal with his craving and why she was looking for him in the first place (to make sure LACROIX didn’t find out about him first), and most of Victor explaining the Londerland Bloodlines version of Corpse Bride to her – I left off with him discovering the cop cars outside of the Everglots’ manor. Alllmost to the halfway point – we’ll see the kind of progress I make tomorrow!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Two-thirds check – Josh actually uploaded two videos today about two different movies he’s seen recently, but thanks to my attempts to get as much done as possible on LB:DQ Chapter Two above, I didn’t have time to watch them both AND Gray. So we’ll have to catch up on the other tomorrow. In the meantime –

A) First up, one of the Josh Way videos of the day – “RAW TAKE: Robot Dreams!” Featuring Josh reviewing the titular movie (an unrated animated feature from a Spanish director about a lonely dog who builds a robot in a funny animals version of 1970s/80s New York) and calling it sweet and very well done with excellent animation (though he did warn that it’s not really for kids – it’s not EXPLICIT, but the pacing and the plot are made for adults), and Josh complaining about his own distaste for movie trailers when he loves movies and he himself works in marketing (he thinks it’s just a saturation thing, as he goes to the movies SO OFTEN). XD But yeah, this one sounds like a good flick to check out if you like mature looks at the relationship between a dog and his robot!

B) And second up, the GrayStillPlays video of the day – “I got paid to ruin lives,” aka Gray plays Delete Master 3! You know the drill – one of those “puzzle” games that makes you delete stuff from the scene to solve the woes of the people within said scene. Except that was true of literally only the first and last level of this particular game – the REST of the time, you were presented with two options, and had to pick one by erasing the other. Which generally added shit to the scene. Because Delete Master 3 didn’t feel like living up to its name, apparently. XD Despite this betrayal, though, the game’s levels were as ridiculous as always – finding missing french fries by erasing most of a dude’s hairstyle; helping the Prince and Rapunzel by providing them a ladder – no, her hair was NOT an option, it rips in half if you try to make the Prince climb it; giving a prisoner a pickaxe so he can make a window in his cell to help cool himself down; helping Medusa style her hair by providing her with a snake charmer; helping a dude pick the right option in rock-paper-scissors so he could wang a cake into his opponent’s face; helping a guy ward off an annoying woodpecker outside his window by flinging a plunger at it; and finally erasing JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT of a mixer so it would turn into one of those head massager things for a stressed baker (Gray apparently spent like five minutes getting THAT one right!). And then that last one just kept repeating forever, meaning Gray actually finally BEAT one of these stupid games. Or he’s stuck in a time loop – we’ll see if he manages to upload tomorrow! ;)

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –

Victor Luvs Alice – Put the latest “Tiny Town Challenge” reblog and a gifset of various VTMB fledglings dancing at the various clubs in the queue for Wednesday and Thursday, respectively – dunno if LB:DQ Chapter 2 will be ready to QUEUE for Friday, but it might be ready to POST on Friday, so...we’ll see what happens there! (Oh, and reblogged Moose’s latest fic too. *waves*)

Valice Multiverse – Actually got a couple of anon asks to throw into the queue here! One a logic puzzle of which door do you open when given a choice between a spike pit, a dragon, and a pair of lions that haven’t been fed in weeks (Alice pointed out that the lions would probably be DEAD after being deprived of food for that long, while Smiler pointed out that the wording said you just had to OPEN the door, not necessarily go through, so the spike pit was technically safe as well); and one featuring a grocery worker greeting someone, only to have “I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU” screamed in their face before the other person exploded (I turned it into a scene from Secundus, with the exploding person being an automaton and Marty and Victor on-hand to make sure the grocery worker was all right). So that’s nice for a change!

And that is that! And now I should see about getting to bed sooner rather than later -- I slept better last night, but judging from the fact that I found both poor Harkie the bat and Cubey the Companion Cube on the floor this morning, I was still tossing and turning a bit. Bleh. Night all!
