Abruptly Tired Tuesday
Jul. 23rd, 2024 11:53 pmYeah, I'm feeling the tired right now -- though I'm not sure if that's my period or just my poor sleep habits. Or both. Could be both. *shakehead* Either way, let me toss up the to-do list here and then see about getting to bed --
Work – Fortunately not a too stressful first day back for me – not much happened while I was gone (in fact, my coworkers got to go home early thanks to an air conditioning failure). I had a couple of credit card calls this morning, did some obituary stuff over midday, then did a QC file in the afternoon (finding a gift that needs adjusting in the process). *shrug* Kept busy, at least!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike again, and back with the GrayStillPlays compilation “I spent two hours clicking so you don't have to!” I have finished off the video on the “planet clicker” game (where Gray upgraded all his planet-clicking to the point where it would have taken him “infinity million” to upgrade it any more – but considering he was earning amounts of energy that could only be expressed in “???” I think he could have managed that XD) and have moved onto him playing Cookie Clicker (cheerfully trying to cause the cookiepocalypse while hiring loads of grandmas and sending spaceships to cookie planets). We should finish this all off tomorrow with Gray abusing everyone for cookie profit!
2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” Chapter Three: Check – got through Victor explaining to Alice that no one generally wanted to share in his hobbies before and that’s why he’s acting all nervous about her wanting to see his Bio-Bot butterfly robots in action (a new scene!) and Alice heading out onto the mean streets of L.A. to find one Fat Larry. *nods* Making good progress, I feel – and I rather enjoyed writing the new bit. :) But I’m ESPECIALLY going to enjoy writing Fat Larry tomorrow, as he is QUITE the character…
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Half-check, half-substitution – for you see, GrayStillPlays’s upload today was a video about a (I presume horror) game that apparently messes with your computer files and personal info – that was an hour and seventeen minutes long. Meaning I couldn’t watch it tonight, meaning that I had to find something else to pair with the other video in my Subs. *shrug* We’ll see if I get to it on Friday, perhaps! For tonight, though –
A) First up, we had “Sims 4 Lovestruck Features - Gameplay/Livestream Summary” by Carl’s Sim Guides! Yes, the man who I believe spends half of his life fixing broken Sims 4 packs (he’s behind the “Dine Out Reloaded” mod and is working on something similar for My Wedding Stories) is back on YouTube, giving a summary on the features shown off (or not shown off, like the Romantic Consultant career) in the gameplay livestream and adding his own thoughts. Like how annoying it was for the Sim Gurus playing to constantly show their new features (like half of a couple getting jealous due to the other half flirting with someone else when that’s a hard romantic boundary for her) from a weird bird’s-eye view angle. Or how he likes the idea of Cupid’s Corner being able to pull dates from the Gallery, but wants NPCs to ask YOUR Sim on dates, instead of your Sim having to do everything. Or how he wanted to see Sims woohoo on the new rug or in the new closet, thank you, not just standard bed woohoo (admittedly in the new heart-shaped bed). *shakehead* It was a decent look at the various highlights of the livestream and what we’ll actually be getting in the new pack...even if it really does look like EA just copied Turbodriver’s and Lumpinou’s ideas in some of their most famous mods. And then didn’t even do them as well as they did. Meeeh. I’m happy that the new relationship boundaries are a base-game update, but I think I’ll be sticking with “Wonderful Whims” and “Open Love Life” over buying the new pack. They have not sold me – and judging by Carl’s tone, they haven’t sold HIM either. “Should have been a game pack” indeed!
B) And second up, we had “Fun With Shorts: Alcohol and the Human Body Part 2” by Josh Way! The second half of that short about how alcohol affects people, it had admittedly good information (emphasizing that drunk people should NOT drive, or even walk near traffic if they can help it, and that alcoholism should be treated in a hospital, not a jail), but delivered it in that signature dry late-40s/early-50s way that is so easy to mock. And mock Josh did, delivering zingers about how being drunk is the only way to enjoy Instagram comedians to reminding a guy who’d just been treated for an alcoholic coma that not drinking includes Whiteclaw. XD Good stuff, as always – I do appreciate that he hasn’t left the shorts behind entirely.
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check, hooray –
Victor Luvs Alice – Got my seven-part Chill Valicer Save covering their Saturday at the Finchwick fair queued up for Wednesday; my partial list of a bunch of stories I want to write in the “Valicer In The Dark” verse queued up for Thursday; and a fresh set of Valicer In The Dark Not-Incorrect Quotes queued up for Friday! Because fuck it, I wrote the damn things and I want them up on my blog. We’ll decide on Song Saturday tomorrow! (Oh, and I did reblog Moose's latest McFlyJuly fic too, about poor Chester having to deal with the reappearance of Buford Tannen in his bar. Poor guy.)
Valice Multiverse – Two asks for the queue tonight – one giving the history of lobster as a food in America (it used to be seen as something only poor people, prisoners, and servants ate – but then when it started getting served on trains, people who didn’t live near the ocean thought it was tasty, and as the population went down to feed the new demand, it became a luxury thing – High School!Alice was like “neat” and High School!Victor was like “thought I heard something similar about caviar?” (and yes, we did used to have a lot of that too, until we overfished the sturgeon producing the roe)), and one with Fact Core from Aperture explaining how Embracing the various shape-changing races from the Werewolf line in the World of Darkness (generally poorly – Aperture!Alice was like “thanks, but I need facts on this laser puzzle I’m trying to solve”). So that’s nice!
*nods* All right, that's all good -- and now it is time for me to head to bed. Night all!
