crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
Yeah, I think the PMS is coming to get me again -- I've been feeling more tired and distractible than usual all day, and my body is on near-constant "is blood coming out of the crotch" alert. Fun. *sigh* At least I have tomorrow off, so I don't have to deal with this at work! Small mercies... Speaking of work, here's how my day has been --

Work – Quieter day today – though, ironically, the phone actually did ring today, unlike yesterday. XD Just one guy canceling a pledge and my boss telling me about a special check I had to put on today, though. The rest of my day was spent doing the usual morning reports, completing the GL, putting on all the checks we got in the mail the other day (along with the special check), and working on a new roster maintenance project to make sure all the employees of the Diocese are marked as such. *shrug* Makes the day go by! Though I am still glad to already have another day off tomorrow. :p

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and back with James Turner tonight, with “I wish I didn't have twins in the Every Life Stage Challenge! - Part 4!” Which saw Semaj struggling with being a single parent caring for four sub-school-age children. The guy was collapsing out of exhaustion what felt like every five seconds as he desperately tried to keep up with his newborn twins, all while Pablo and Krystoff were basically left to raise themselves (Pablo even had his crib taken away because the comments suggested he could just live on the playmat in the living room, poor thing!). Semaj even passed out during his latest gig as the bumbling dad on a sitcom! Not to mention the house got so bad at one point that he had to hire a maid to help clean up...but despite all this nonsense, a few good things happened –

A) Despite not getting a hell of a lot of time with Dad, both Krystoff and Pablo are doing pretty well on their various “age up” tasks – Krystoff is learning his toddler skills pretty quickly (he has to get three in each category), and Pablo is getting his fair share of milestones, like learning how to reach, grab, and put his toe in his mouth. XD And it’s not like Semaj is TOTALLY ignoring them – he feeds and bathes them (which got Pablo two “firsts” milestones in a row when he gave him a bubble bath), and has made sure that Krystoff has toys like the play tent and blocks so he can continue skilling up. The children are EXTREMELY free range, to be sure, but they’re not DYING, so…

B) While he’s nowhere near rich, Semaj IS making enough money to keep the household afloat – despite not doing his best work at his acting gig, he was still able to make like $1,400, and James is of course abusing the money-making trashcan to squeeze $50 out of every diaper, bottle, and dirty plate he can find. Which has allowed Semaj to buy some things, like the aforementioned play tent and blocks; an easel so he can try out painting (as his task is now to learn some new skills to assist his children in aging up, and Krystoff’s chosen hobby will be painting, so…); a coffee machine to TRY to keep his energy up for longer periods (James was hoping to take it with him to work, but unfortunately it’s not live-draggable)–

C) And, most importantly, a gemology table, because Semaj was like “I CANNOT JUST IGNORE THIS PLUMBITE IN MY INVENTORY ANYMORE GIVE ME THE SWEET SWEET NEEDS-IMPROVING CRYSTAL.” XD So yeah, Semaj was finally able to cut that into a basic spire so he can use it to help improve his needs whenever he doesn’t have the aspiration reward points for a moodlet solver (though James DID remember to turn wants and fears back on so he’ll have more opportunities to earn points). And even better, because he was briefly really happy from having a house full of babies while cutting the gem, he actually picked up a LIKE for Gemology! So now he actually has an activity he ENJOYS doing, yay. XD I left it with Semaj having just set the crystal on its grid outside to charge in the moonlight – we’ll see how the chaos continues tomorrow!

2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has made it down to the final level and the big hand-off! Because invisibility is overpowered, even when you’re having to switch it on while tumbling from a vent because you’re not quite at the stage where you can interact with the world and stay unnoticed. :p However, she has noticed a rather major complication to her plan to snag the briefcase for Fat Larry – namely, both sides have a briefcase. And she can’t risk getting the wrong one, so – on Cheshire’s advice – she’s parked herself near the local gang to see if they might say something useful about what’s in theirs. We’ll see how that continues next week!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just the one video today from GrayStillPlays: “GTA 5 but every minute = +1 superpower!” You might think that is one of his Deliberately Exaggerated Titles, but actually it was reasonably accurate this time – Gray had a series of four horrible challenges that he had to complete, each one with a sixty-second time limit, and each of which gave him a new superpower to add to a growing set. Though, really, only the first one was of particular use to him outside of its intended challenge… So, what were the obstacles Gray had to overcome to get his incredible powers?

I. Join The Channel In Under One Minute – Gray had to find the right vehicle that, when crashed against a tiny wall, would throw him far enough and at the right angle to avoid the blades of a weebmill and send him through the “Join” button of one of his own YouTube thumbnails (the same ones that were featured in a different challenge a little while back). The power this one granted him was Invincibility – which he needed, because Gray didn’t realize that he needed to actually go and stand in the script circle on his first go, and he died pretty much immediately. XD Interestingly, though, Gray ended up cheating this one slightly, because he let the timer run out on the challenge (which put the weebmill in the very center of the thumbnail) and then proceeded to win it by using the Scramjet’s boost to fling himself far enough, heedless of the increased chance of hitting weebmill blade. And, despite taking more than a minute, he was allowed to move on regardless. *shrug* I guess Alex realized that he wouldn’t get to torture Gray if he didn’t go on. :p

II. Lego Run – Gray had to traverse a giant LEGO course in under a minute, weaving around teleporting blocks and dealing with things like a spinning bridge and the floor vanishing out from under him. Oh, and two LEGO rail guns hovering in front of him and spitting bricks at him on a regular basis. To combat all this, he got the Dollar Store Flash power – basically, 2x animation super speed. It looked very weird. XD And it didn’t really help Gray much, as it prevented him from jumping onto stuff that he might have otherwise been able to pass (like that spinning bridge). The poor guy claimed to be in genuine anguish while doing this one, complaining that this on its own could have been a sufficient challenge. He FINALLY got the timing right to get to the end, but it was close – he JUST passed the wall as it came up. Whew! Certainly gives you a new perspective on how dangerous LEGOs are.

III. It’s My Way Or The Highway – Gray had to traverse a section of the Los Santos highway system on a motorcycle while the “Screw You Gray” chaos mod effect was plaguing him, turning him into a magnet for every other bit of traffic on the road. Oh, and he had walls to weave around, and a variety of slow-down circles and yeeters to avoid (or make use of, if he got the timing right). To help him avoid getting stuck in a traffic crunch constantly, the power he got was Almighty Push (From Naruto): a concussive blast of force that just threw everything back from him with great prejudice. Unfortunately, it did have a five-second cooldown, meaning Gray was a little reluctant to use it, and thus he ended up being caught in traffic crunches constantly. :p But after quite a lot of trial and error (and meeting up with random people who had been yeeted through their windscreens by all the accidents), Gray managed to actually get to the end in time and make the checkpoint! Whew – at least this one wasn’t a dollar store superpower!

IV. Flight School – Gray had to fly through a maze Alex had constructed for him around part of downtown Los Santos, working his way around various walls, over various obstacles, and down various paths in a big old tube – using the power of Flight, of course. XD The course was a tricky one, mostly because Gray kept underestimating how soon he’d have to turn while following the arrows, and how low a certain barrier in one of the ending tubes was (he smacked into it SO MANY TIMES), but eventually he managed to get past everything and reach the checkpoint, where he then had to dive off one final building to get the ending circle!

...Which he missed on the first pass, so he had to come back up and around to get it. XD And then he flew off and crashed into someone’s roof. XD Ahhh, Gray getting tortured by nonsense even when he has superpowers – now THIS is the good stuff. :P

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just Victor Luvs Alice tonight, which was good considering my heavily distracted state. But despite that, I got starter drafts of my Song Friday (which features the bit of the Dishonored OST that I listened to while editing the chase sequence in the latest chapter of “Start At The Beginning...Sort Of”) and Song Saturday (featuring an extended version of the main theme of Dishonored 2, which I first heard in that one “Blades In The Dark” playlist I’ve been listening to a lot and quite like) into my queue. I’ll have to finish them up properly tomorrow – too tired tonight – but at least they are THERE.

Not too bad, though yeah, the distraction brain definitely got me tonight. I'm gonna go spend a little time over on TV Tropes, then try to hit the sheets before it gets too late. Goals for tomorrow include working on tumblrs and my queue on Victor Luvs Alice; working more on "Start At The Beginning...Sort Of;" keeping up with whatever my Subs throws at me; playing Sims 4 and working on the Ministry of Joy nightclub; and getting in a workout. All hopefully achievable goals -- though we'll see if my parents need my help with anything. Dad's still recovering and all, so... *shrug* Night all!
