Cool Down Time

-M: Having a full fur coat can suck, huh?-

Anyway, watched the Lemony Snicket DVD -- movie, special features, movie with audio commentary. The special features were pretty cool -- had stuff like how Jim's screen tests really fleshed out all of the characters and casting the kids. And the audio commentary. . . . *gigglefit* I chose the one with the director and "Lemony Snicket," and it was really funny. Lemony kept complaining about how close the film was to his depressing books, and how Brad the director was always lying to him -- at one point he started playing the accordian instead of watching or listening to the movie (when the Lachyromose Leeches showed up). *snrrrrk* I don't know if Lemony was done by Daniel Handler (the man behind Lemony Snicket), but I'd like to think so. Funny movie, and funny books -- I got the first three in a big omnibus, and I'm thinking of buying the others.

They fit together, I suppose -- the world of the Baudelaires is rather depressing. Also very steampunky.
-M2: "Steampunky?"-
Clothes and society are vaguely Victorian in nature, gadgets and such are modern or highly Rube-Goldberg-esque. See "Girl Genius" for a good example. Basically, I see it as a world Doc would majorly drool over.
-D: . . . . Should I be insulted by that?-
In the world of the Sims, it was Hill Valley day. I played the Hill Valley Browns through a typical Monday. Jules and Verne ended up waking up very early because of full energy bars -- I had them green, then study skills. Doc and Clara also woke up early -- Doc made omlettes, then worked out while Clara worked on cleaning. The kids went to school and Clara to work while Doc showered and napped. After waking up and finishing getting his body point, I decided to get the family a money tree for this Aspirations Album I keep meaning to do.
Doc watered and harvested it, then went off to Lone Pine Mall to pick up groceries. Sinc he had a low social bar, I decided to have him chat up the cashier, Merlin.
-M: Merlin? Somebody at Maxis reads too much "King Arthur" stuff.-
LoL, the townies actually get their names from Maxis designers -- somebody there is probably NAMED Merlin. (No offense, though -- better than the poor guy who's picked up the name Goopy.)
Anyway, I also had him grill up some hotdogs (this would make a good 4th of July pic):
He ate with some girl townies, then headed home and got ready for work. The boys and Clara came home at the same time, and Verne baked himself a muffin while Clara burnt some chili con carne. The boys funned and chatted up Mom and Dad, then the shower broke. Jules chose to play in the puddles while Doc fixed it.
After letting Jules call Orlando to provide a friendship basis, I sent the boys to bed, and Doc and Clara followed soon after. I didn't try for baby tonight -- they were just too tired. Next time.
