Like, not FULL-ON distracted, but I have had a few moments of getting sucked into stuff focusing on my new AU ideas (along with one giggle-fit that I would not be able to explain to you no matter how hard I tried). Looking up stuff on Severance (the Apple TV show) is a cruel mistress... But I have gotten a bunch of stuff done regardless --

Work – Welp, one of my coworkers was out for personal reasons, meaning it was a lot fucking quieter at work today – but it was also a lot BUSIER, with me having to do the GL, and summarize an annoying credit card problem I found, and merge some people, and take care of some checks, and do some write-offs, and look things up for my coworker, and etc etc. I mean, it made the day go by, at least, and I got everything done that I NEEDED to get done, so, can’t really complain. AND my commute was normal despite some heavy traffic early on, thank GOD. *sigh* Last half-day Friday tomorrow – hoping it’s a good one!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with “I have bested the Every Life Stage Challenge! - Part 5” by James Turner! Featuring more instances of Semaj and his family smashing it –

A) All the kids at this point have all their tasks done – Sunny and Vivienne the infants got their fine motor skills milestones reaching and grabbing for toys; Semaj potty trained the HECK out of poor Pablo the toddler; and Krystoff the kid managed to get himself his required Mental skill points at the science table WITHOUT setting anything on fire. *thumbs up* Rock and roll!

B) Semaj also made good progress on HIS tasks – in attempting to complete the “help a child with homework for four hours” aspiration milestone, he accidentally fulfilled the “have a child with a character value in range to receive a trait when they grow up” milestone (given he was helping Krystoff with another school project, I believe Krystoff is now very Responsible), so that ones sorted! And he’s about halfway through getting some skill in Sunny and Vivienne’s chosen hobbies, having gotten a computer and written a children’s book to get up to level 3 Writing (Vivienne’s skill of choice). Still needs to somehow get some Pipe Organ skill for Sunny and then just get two points in a brand new skills, but he’s slowly but surely getting there!

C) The family DID get out for their park day, with Semaj taking the kids out to Pupperstone Park on Saturday after he finished his audition for his latest gig (a post-apocalypse movie shoot). They had a good time, with Krystoff playing on the pirate ship and hanging out on the monkey bars (by which I mean he stood on the side of the monkey bars and never tried to cross them, to James’s confusion); Pablo crawling all through the toddler tunnel thing James plopped down on the lot for him; and the infants spending most of their time sleeping in their travel cribs. *nods* A lovely late Fall family outing!

D) And Semaj got through another gig (despite his hatred of acting), throwing himself into the role of a post-apocalyptic survivor (at least until he was required to die). While his performance was not the best (he only got up to a silver rank for the day, having not done anything to improve the skills necessary what with his focus on everything else), he still earned a nice solid paycheck – and got LOADS of food from the catering table, as it kept respawning as he took more and more plates. XD So that’s nice!

So yeah – Semaj and the family are having a good time this episode! About the most horrible thing that’s happened so far is Bernice continuing to stalk Semaj – calling him up and confessing she has a crush on him; showing up at the house after Semaj attempted to ghost her; and even appearing at the park when Semaj was trying to have his nice day out with his kids. Like, Semaj’s ACTUAL WIFE Mei doesn’t pester him this much! XD We’ll see how things wrap up tomorrow – and if Semaj can score himself another lovely baby mama for the next child...

2. Continue editing “Start At The Beginning...Sort Of”: Check – Elder Gutknecht has explained his whole deal (namely, that he was an extremely elderly Whisper who found a way to walk outside of his body as a ghost...and came back to find his corpse being hauled out of his house by the Spirit Wardens), and the gang has explained a little bit of theirs in return – specifically, the whole business of Victor having sort-of married a ghost bride, leading to him having spent a day in the ghost field. Which has left him with some interesting side effects, such as the ability to see all ghosts and get a sense of what type they are. Leading to Elder Gutknecht offering to train him in the ways of being a Whisper, if Victor wants it...and despite himself, Victor is showing signs of wanting it… However, he doesn’t get to agree in THIS story, as first they have to confirm why Gutknecht is being so nice to these three total strangers who wandered into his house, and then give him the FULL story about why they wandered into his house. Don’t worry, Victor, you’ll get to say yes to getting cool magic powers soon(ish; give or take a couple of stories)!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – I got to the YouTube rather late tonight, so I only had time for Josh Way’s latest – “STREAM TIME: TV Catch Up (Fallout, The Boys Season 4)!” Which actually also covered the new Star Wars show The Acolyte, though given Josh’s opinion on that one was firmly negative, maybe there’s a reason he didn’t put it in the title. Anyway, yes, Josh’s thoughts on the three shows were:

A) The Acolyte – he didn’t enjoy it because he finds the Jedi and how they’re always portrayed boring (same with the Sith, honestly). He much prefers stuff like Endor that stays away from them!

B) The Boys Season 4 – he DID enjoy this, because he still likes its gritty, over-the-top, “we know this is dumb we’re just having fun with it” take on superheroes, and he’s honestly quite invested in the characters and how they’re going to take down the villain Homelander. Other people may say it’s jumped the shark, but he’s still looking forward to that resolution!

C) Fallout – he also enjoyed this one, because you are Legally Required to enjoy it. XD No, seriously, he’s not someone who’s played any of the games, but he found the show to be very well put together, smart but not afraid to be at least a little silly, and well-made. He’s a LITTLE concerned that, should any of the actors or the creative team behind the scenes leave, the whole thing will fall apart, but this first season worked for him. Fingers crossed for the next one!

So yeah – one no, two yeses. If you’re someone who actually watches TV shows on streaming services (unlike me and my family, who pretty much exclusively watches what we can find on YouTube), you may make use of his recommendations as you see fit. :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check, though the first check was much rougher than the second –

Victor Luvs Alice – Struggled my way through this, but I DID get what I wanted to get done, done –

A) Reblogged someone’s edit of the “do it for her” board from The Simpsons (you know, that plaque Homer has in his office that he’s covered in pictures of Maggie) featuring the PS5 from that one ridiculous TikTok that blew up on tumblr a while back (as I thoroughly enjoyed that ridiculous TikTok, I had to reblog it), and a poll asking how many of the Rolling Stone’s list of the 25 Most Influential Creators of 2024 you’d heard of (I had heard of EXACTLY ONE name on that list – the recently-disgraced Mr. Beast. I think the problem is I don’t hang out on Instagram or the TikTok app itself, so I don’t know who the hell is popular anymore)

B) Queue-wise, I got my Song Saturday post sorted (Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’s extremely recent duet “Die With A Smile” – look, it gives me the fucking feels) and – after drawing a blank for AGES – reblogged my “ask game” from last week for tomorrow. With perhaps some slightly passive-aggressive “this is an ASK GAME” “please put things IN MY INBOX” tags because last time I got three REBLOGS and no asks. I don’t actually expect much to come of this, but it’s SOMETHING to stick there.

Valice Multiverse – One ask from Toonsisters for the queue over here – with her poking the bear that is Nell Van Dort by calling her a “gold digger” and insinuating her golden toilet is in fact part of a massive crime ring of some kind. Cuddlepile!Nell was immediately like “how DARE you” while Victor was like “she’ll be like this for a while, also is that true about the toilet or???” XD So that’s some fun for tomorrow! :P

Aaaand I have officially stayed up too late and now have to get to bed. ^^; So I'll be doing that now. Moose, I'll get to your messages tomorrow! Night all!
