Dude. That Lot is Tiny
Sep. 8th, 2004 11:22 pm-D: Excuse me, did you just say "dude?"-
-VD2: We were under the impression you hated that word.-
I do, kinda. If it's used like it normally is, to end every frigging sentence, it makes the people saying it sound like morons, and I have a low moron tolerance level. (That's going to make going to work scary.) Use it more occasionally, though, and I'm fine. I prefer "Torg and Riff 'Dude'" to "Bill and Ted 'Dude.'"
-D: Okay. *puzzled*-
Honestly, though, James Magibud finished gathering MagiCoins for your house, so I sold all his furniture and effects (hey, they were going to get sold anyway), charged up the necessary spells, and moved him briefly into Magic Town. I moved back out without saving after my first attempt with a house.
-VM: Didn't turn out so well?-
I decided to try out the castle design, just for fun. But that lot is very small! As a result, I made the "towers" too small inside. That meant the kitchen, both bathrooms, and the kids rooms were too small. And, of course, I'm having stair trouble. *grumble*
-VD: Stair trouble?-
It's hard to figure out where to place them. I either need to make the towers on top bigger to put the stairs inside, or live with small gaps in the roof. I want to use either stone steps or the creepy wooden staircase, of course.
-D: Obviously, it's Magic Town. How's the lot look otherwise?-
Well, I have to smooth it down in parts -- there's a few little hills in it. And I have to remove a large lake from the back. Luckily, with move_objects on, I can place a few shrubs and trees outside the "limits," so to speak. I just don't want to build walls out there -- I've done with with lots in the Towns, and the walls disappear in neighborhood mode, which is kinda annoying.
Story Front:
A) I put up Chapter 4 of "Judgement Day." *VampDoc smiles*
B) I plan to put up Chapters 4 and 5 of "World of Light" tomorrow. *VampDoc2 smiles*
C) I just finished Chapter 1 of the new "Reality Check." *Doc smiles*
D) I did a bit with the Part III version of "The Letter." More copy-paste for the beginning, of course. The wing-it method isn't having much luck, though -- I'm thinking of printing out at least the first chapter and using it as a guide.
And, Important News -- We're not moving until next year.
*Stunned Silence*
-M: No. Your parents cannot do this to us.-
They can and they are. The hurricanes have f-ed up Florida. Until everything's right down there again, we have to stay here, and that most likely means until 2005.
-J: NOOOOO!-
*All Californians cry*
Oh, no, guys, don't cry! It won't be that bad! We'll have a computer all to ourselves. And I'll have a job I can tell you about, and you can keep me from murdering any morons I encounter.
-VD: You're happy about getting work?-
Well, not really, unless I can bring my story journals with me on break. But it has to be done. I need to fiance college and the computer.
-VM: But isn't this technically your dad's--
Not for long. They wanted to buy me a new computer when we got down to Florida. Since we're staying here, Dad let me have the option of keeping this one. I have all my Sims stuff on it, all my stories, my BTTF Theme -- yeah. I'm keeping this one. I'm the biggest user anyway. And then Dad will have his own computer for eBay sales, so everyone will be happy.
So, my last days of freedom. Gotta hike down to the store tomorrow and pick up a paper for want ads. See you all later.
