crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
Well, belated birthday to Neville, his was yesterday. I've been a little bad about updating this thing lately, haven't I?
-DW: I'll say. You didn't get to [livejournal.com profile] revison_doc's update until 11:30!-
I know, I know! Won't happen again, though.
-VD: You finally finished reading through the "Narbonic" archives?-
Yeah. Well, all the regular strips -- I skipped most of the Sunday stuff in favor of the actual plot-related stuffs. Even still, I was up late last night reading it all.
-VD2: At least you're finished now and can actually focus on writing.-
Doing some last-minute editing on "Misery Journey" as we speak. I'll be up by tonight. I'm also doing a bit of editing on the beginning of "Teen Doc."
-TD: Oh? Why?-
It was Moonlady -- I got another chance to talk to her a little bit ago, after her version of the "Hoverboards" pic, and we got to talking about Holly. She mentioned that she didn't think Holly and Emmett were that close because of Doc only mentioning her for the first time at the beginning of "Teen Doc."
-H: Preposterous! If you read any your Teen Doc miniseries thing you've got going on, I star in practically all of them!-
I know -- what Moonlady mentioned is MY fault. You're kind of like Gypsy in a way, Hol -- you're a later addition to the storyline that I now have to kind of retcon in. So I'm editing the beginning of "Teen Doc" a bit to make it look like you've talked about her before, you just never got around to showing pictures and stuff.
-D: Yes, I really should start mentioning her in a couple of the other PreTimes at least, right?-
I've got an ace in the hole there, though -- the major PreTime is "Best Friends Forever And Then Some," and I have yet to edit that. It'll be much easier to add a couple of mentions to Holly in there. I also have another PreTime waiting, "The Price of Genius," that I can mention her in.
-VD: "The Price of Genius?"-
Centers around that award you won in 1983. You invite Marty along to the awards ceremony, and he has a crisis of friendship when he realizes just how smart you really are. I admit, I was partially inspired by Tekva's work, when Marty mentions in a story about how Doc shouldn't have been hanging around him, but with his fellow scientists.
-OD: My peers include people like Donald Patrickson. Who wants to hang around him? *tentacles hiss and chatter in agreement*-
-D: I take it that story will be somewhat angsty mush?-
To a degree, yes. It's not scheduled for a bit, but I do want to do it at some point.
-DW: How about we handle what you've already got on your plate?-
True enough. I've got a challenge story finish editing -- ta-ta for now.

-TD: Pardon?-
"Misery Journey" is up
Chapter 9 of "BTTX-2" is up
The complete "BTTX-2: Time of the Spider" is up at my website
The new first chapter of "Teen Doc" is up
-VD: O.o Well, you certainly made up for whatever you lacked in productivity the rest of this weekend.-
I know. Yay completing two stories!
-TD: Now you can get back to focusing on "Boy Genius" and "V.D." edits.-
-VD2: And the drabbles88, don't forget about that.-
-OD: Or new fanart -- thinking of starting any more on your little list?-
I actually have an idea for a beach picture of the Doc muses -- I'd include you, Martys, but drawing six people is about my limit.
-M: Not a problem -- they're the guys everyone knows about anyway.-
-VM: And we're sure some other artist has already drawn us in bathing suits, privately at any rate.-
Good point. :p But yeah, I had some ideas for that. OckDoc's tentacles building a sandcastle, the VampDocs passed out under an umbrella, Doc and DocWolf playing Frisbee by the water, TeenDoc escaping the lifeguards on a steam-powered surfboard--
-H: *snork*-
-VDM: Now that sounds interesting.-
-TD: Yes, too bad we have the risk of Man-o-War jellyfish around here.-
I know. Would you believe I haven't been to the beach once this summer? Feels almost unnatural.
-DW: I know. At least there's no chance of sand in my fur.-
Heh, yeah.

Other Things to Report On:
--->Wasted some time getting a new high score on Flash Sonic. I didn't lose a life until the very end (played Tails again). Weird how I got so good at that game so fast.
--->Speaking of games, despite my lukewarm reception of the idea, I am suddenly obsessed with the upcoming Pets expansion. I've been reading up on it, and it does seem pretty cool. I think I'm mostly enamored of giving Doc Einstein and Gypsy Sigmund.
-E: Sigmund?-
Gypsy's cat. Doc and Gypsy have one interesting trait in common -- they name their pets after important people in their professions. Doc's dogs are all named after scientists, while Gypsy's cats are all named after famous psychiatrists. He's currently an all-grey cat --
*pause* Strike that, I just pictured him with a white belly and white front paw, and I like that a lot better.
-D: *chuckle* Gypsy likes messing with your perception of her reality, doesn't she?-
She does. *grumble* Stupid elevated in-joke characters. (See here for my previous rant on Gypsy's meddling.)
Anyway, here's a preliminary pet breakdown:
Strangetown
->Agatha has to have a fat white cat named Krosp, obviously. Too bad the Sims one won't be able to speak.
->The Docs will get Einstein.
->Ariana will adopt either a cat or a dog -- I'm leaning toward cat, but that could change.
->I'm considering giving the girls Edison, VampDoc2's dog.
Twin Oaks Park
->Emmett gets Einstein, of course.
->Gypsy also gets Sigmund.
->April and Dave might end up with a pet or two, I'm not sure.
Hill Valley
->The Browns get Einstein.
->The McFlys get a bird (you see a small budgie-like bird in the background).
->The Elder McFlys might get a dog.
->Sally Baines might get a cat.
I really haven't thought this through like I did with Open for Business, but it's a start.
--->We're headed for a scorcher, folks -- severe heat warning for the next two days. I fear work.
-TD: At least you have more fans now.-
I know, but still. . . .
--->No "Pirates of the Carribean 2" today, Mom and Dad were busy with storage books. *slight grumblemutter* I'm not obsessed with seeing the movie, but it would have been nice.
-DW: You just wanted one of those shakes you always get.-
That would have been nice too. Well, there's a Friendly's down the street, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday I'll stop by.

Okay, time to post to [livejournal.com profile] backtothefanfic, clean up my documents, finish the day's written work on "Boy Genius," and see what other typing I can get done.
