The boys have been in the lab all day -- we finally managed to drag them out a bit ago for cake (
gigs_83's gang brought over a DeLorean cake, while I had chocolate truffle bombs for everyone -- basically chocolate pudding under a chocolate shell on a cake base) and milk.
-ConstructClara: What HAVE you boys been up to?-
-TD: Well, for one thing, we've been putting "Blessing of Perfection" to GREAT use.-
-VD: If anything in this house breaks down anytime soon, we'll be very surprised.-
Too bad you couldn't use it on my computer. :( Yes, folks, Sims still giving me problems. I uninstalled/reinstalled my drivers, but nothing doing. First time I went to play, I actually got INTO the neighborhood, but before I could do anything, it rebooted. Second time I tried, we got the flashy thing again -- only this time the game wouldn't shut down. That powerstrip has been getting a lot of mileage.
-D: *pats back* I'm sure you'll figure out something.-
-RPD: Maybe you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Bon Voyage?-
First I want to hunt down those instructions about removing SecuROM -- worth a shot, and who wants that shit on their computer?
-RPD: *nods knowingly*-
-OD: *tentacles twist themselves together* We'll keep our fingers -- or tentacles, as the case may be -- crossed.-
Thanks. Aaanyway, besides the Sims Fiasco, today was pretty good. Slept in til 11:30 (yes, looking up horror games all afternoon yesterday backfired on me -- couldn't go to sleep until 3). Had soup for lunch, watched bits of the Trilogy over it -- Doc-centric, naturally. Bought my Truffle bomb at Belmont afterwards, stuck that in the fridge, then came upstairs, fiddled with Sims, then when that experiment failed, did some last editing on my owed chapters.
-VD2: Ahh, another birthday present worth waiting for.-
*grins* Glad to hear it.
Chapter 9 of "V.D." and
Chapter 3 of "The Gift and the Curse" are up.
-VenomClara: Always nice to see progress on the latter.-
I'm gonna write you, don't worry.
-VenomClara: Heh, I know, it's fine. No rush.-
-DW: How about other fanfic?-
Gonna try something with "Boy Genius" tonight -- might write more on "You Look Interesting" as well. I'm also aiming for a half-page on "Cinder-Marty."
-D: Good -- wouldn't want you to slack off on your regular writing.-
Me either. Especially not with me on a BTTF high. :D Ahh, it feels good to watch the movies again. And with the bookend weekend coming up, I gotta find time to watch Part II in full.
-TD: Then there's November to consider.-
I think I get lucky then -- November 12th is Veteran's Day (or at least when it's observed), so I should have that day off. *fingers crossed*
-HD: *happily playing with his teapots* I like birthdays!-
-MHG: *worried* Enough to give up unbirthdays?-
-HD: Oh no. I just figure we should start celebrating them both now. Then we'd have fun and laughter all year round!-
-MHG: Capital idea! . . . When's my birthday again?-
*ruffles his fur* April 1st. Gotta wait til next year.
-MHG: Until then, *sings* A very merry unbirthday, to me, to me. . . .-
I guess we're all happy enough here. I'm gonna go finish up on my fanfic.
-VD2: And we're back to the lab -- there's a few more things we want to use our powers on.-
Remember, they fade shortly after midnight.
-HD: So there's no time to waste! Come along girls, we can always use assistance.-
-TD:
Exactly! *suddenly grabs me and kisses my cheek* Thanks so much -- for. . . .-
*has melted into a puddle of goo*
-TD: Er -- I don't know if I can fix that.-
-D: *scoops me back into my chair* She'll be fine in a minute -- let's go!-
-ConstructClara: *giggling* I wonder what would have happened if you'd kissed her on the lips.-
-HD: I'd wager there'd be a large hole in our ceiling then.-
