Video Games

Played both Alice and Sims today. Alice is working her way through the royal hedge maze, though looking at the playlist I use for directions, I think I took a wrong turn someplace in the latest level. Ah well, easily backtracked.
-D: Have your "I'm going to die a lot" predictions come true?-
Yeah. I'm not very good at floating on steam currents. One death, though, could have been avoided. I was within sight of the end of the first maze level -- there's a pad there that needs something on it to make the gate in front of the exit portal stay open. When you get there, there's a kid who promptly runs off and makes you chase him. Like an idiot, I followed, got lost, and died in an ambush.
-VD: *frown* How is that "like an idiot?"-
I have an item that FREEZES TIME.
-VD: . . . Oh.-
Yeah, so after I reloaded, I did the smart thing and used the Deadtime Watch to keep the stupid portal open. Gotta remember that thing exists.
-HD: You think that wouldn't be a problem for someone such as yourself.-
Well, it gets tricky sometimes! I end up pressing the wrong keys or somesuch. I can't recall how many times I've tried to go forward, only to find I was pressing the key NEXT to it.
-RPD: Still using your trusty mallet?-
Hey, still useful against Boojums. I'm liking the Jabberwock Eye Staff too, but the charge time leaves something to be desired.
-VD2: Don't they all. . . How about Sims?-
That went pretty well -- I replayed Julia and Harriet, and Emily and Sabastian. Harriet's back in Urele House, though it took a reload -- and the second time, she only got in by the skin of her teeth. Still, she and Julia are doing well. And LOOK at the wicked lightning pics I got!

Anyway, work was a good mix of busy and slow. I got THREE pages on "Cinder-Marty." I should finish that this week.

Yeah, should be "Forward to the Past." Incidentally, to stave off any arguments between you and OckDoc, I'm working on "Temporalnauts" and "Comfortably Numb" tonight.
-OD: *tad embarrassed* Fair enough.-
-DW: What you should really do now is work on getting a few of your "dead" fics back up.-
Good idea -- part of what inspired me to try and finish "Temporalnauts." Maybe I'll tackle "What Lies Within" next. Or "Siblings," that one-off of "Boy Genius."
-HD: And if you can't do anything with those, you can always think up more things we won't let you do anymore.-
LOL, true.
Anyway, I'm off to do fun stuff and hopefully get some writing done. Wish me luck!
