Movie Marathon Weekend
Aug. 29th, 2008 11:28 pmSo, I told my parents of my plans to get "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "Clue" this weekend. Dad surprised me by offering to drive me up to the local video/music store tonight. Figuring it would save me some time tomorrow, I agreed, and we headed up to FYE. I found "Clue" pretty quickly in Comedy, but I couldn't find "Roger Rabbit." I asked one of the employees, she looked it up on the computer --
Turns out it was in CHILDRENS.
Yes. "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" was in CHILDRENS.
-M: Um, isn't there, you know, a lot of MURDERS in that flick?-
I know! WTF??
-D: I suppose they figure, "it's partially animated, Disney was involved, it MUST go in Childrens!"-
-TTV: *rolls eyes* Not everyone who likes cartoons is a child.-
I know. I mean, it's rated -- *checks* Oh. PG. Huh.
-M: Uh, again -- murders?-
Yeeeaaah. I thought it was at least PG-13. Then again, it's a late 80s flick, the standards might have been a little different. *checks "Clue"* That's PG too!
-VM: Wow. People were awfully lax about letting kids see people get killed.-
Yeah! I know not a lot of kids probably did see those movies, but something just seems a touch off-kilter about them being PG! Of course, it's late and I'm tired, so. . . .
Anyway, I'll be watching those over the weekend. "Clue" is disturbingly extra-features light, but "Roger Rabbit" appears to make up for that. The DVD case is really cool -- it looks like a case book for the Valiants, with "signed" pictures of Roger and Jessica inside. :D
-TD: Sounds fun!-
It should be, yeah. I hope you like it, Victor.
-TTV: *grin* Me too.-
Writing-wise, got some stuff done on "Corpse Mask." Work had fifty-million things going, so I didn't get any writing done then, and I'm rather tired and spacey at the moment, so. . . .
-OD: Well, we got our three pages, so no worries. *tentacles nodnod*-
-VD: Don't forget, though, TeenDoc and I get updates this weekend.-
It shall be done. I also need to do some Sims. I plan to raid Bluewater Village for some community lots, mainly for Arcanum. That place is steadily becoming very complicated in my head.
-DW: The whole "Sims buy from each other instead of from the catalogue" looking rather daunting?-
Yeah, especially since it's a fairly small island. . . . I'll figure something out, though.
-HD: If all else fails, use liberal amounts of jam.-
I'll try and remember that.
-VD2: It amazes me that you're even going to try this. It sounds more complicated than you're used to.-
It should be a neat challenge, though. Something new to do. I'll still try to keep up with
revison_doc and
eurekasims. The Mortes need to be dropped in on.
-RPD: How about RPing?-
Doc's doing some slow threads with Bambi and Mitsuki -- I don't seem to be awake/around when their players are on, generally. I'm poking at the Nexus, but not much there either, at the moment.
-RPM: Nada?-
Well, one, but that involves Clockwork getting pissy. Dunno if he'd like that.
-VuM: *playfully* Since when do you care?-
Since I'm trying to convince him I'm not all that evil, damn it.
-M2: But you are evil.-
-.- Give me a little credit.
-WRM: You do like your happy endings and us not fighting, yeah.-
-OD: I suppose it's nice not to have to worry about more screaming matches in our fanon.-
Seriously. That surprised even me. *pokes the story*
Well, I suppose I should do something. Maybe watch more MST3K. I'm in the mood for funny.
