In The Christmas Spirit
Dec. 5th, 2009 10:38 pmToday proved to be rainy and miserable, but Mom and I hit the mall anyway. She went Christmas shopping with my aunt while I browsed Newberry and Hot Topic before going to the IMAX. Got myself a few new things -- a pewter Disney Hatter keychain, a Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland shirt ("We're All A Little Mad"), and another 2-Pack of T-2mates -- Combat T-800 and John Conner. Let's nevermind the fact I never took the last minimates I bought out of their cases because I had no more room for them.
-TD: What you need is a whole bookcase devoted solely to your toys. Like the one you have in front of your window, with the Corpse Bride figures, only bigger.-
Tell me about it. I gotta find a way to get some more space here.
As for the movie -- well, getting into it was an experience. The IMAX wasn't open when I first arrived, so I got my ticket from the other theater. Then, when it did open up, the only employees around were the snack bar girls. It took me a while to realize I had to get my ticket ripped and get my 3-D glasses from them. Kind of a clusterfuck in there because of the lack of employees.
However, it was all worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie -- Jim Carrey did an excellent job. As did all the voice actors, really. It was pretty creepy in parts, though -- Marley's jaw almost falls off in the early haunting scene. (Him fixing it was funny, however.) And seeing it in 3-D in the IMAX was great. Even the previews were in 3-D!
Which meant I got to see the Alice In Wonderland preview in 3-D on the big screen.
I AM SO FUCKING SEEING THIS MOVIE AT THE IMAX.
-TTV: *amused chuckle*-
Oh come on, it'll look awesome! I really, really hope it's a good movie. Don't fail me, Tim Burton, you've somehow managed to (however tenuously) connect all three of my fandoms!
-VD2: I'm sure he'll do his bet.-
*fingers crossed*
In other bad news, though, I woke up with a sore throat this morning, and I've been sneezing regularly throughout the day. And now my nose is feeling stuffed up. I do believe I've caught a cold. :(
-HD: *ties napkin around his face as a mask*-
Oh ha ha.
-VD: *patpat* Too bad. Guess you're not really in the mood for doing much writing, hmm?-
Eh, not that bad yet. And I had an idea about my Christmas fics this year. The theme this year is still the comedy carol "The Twelve Pains of Christmas." As for the characters involved -- well, everyone wants more of "The Tale," correct?
Good. You're getting a Christmas special.
-DW: What?-
The 12 Fics of Christmas will be written in "The Tale" universe. It's not going to be canon to the main story in any way, of course. Just a fun detour for the season. (Don't worry, you'll also get the Rapunzel chapter before the month is out.)
-OD: You are having entirely too much fun with this mega-crossover.-
I know. I really don't know why, either. I'm guessing I just have a thing for fairy tales mixed with fandom.
Anyway! If I hope to get anything done tonight, I'd better get going. There was some tagging I wanted to do. . . .
