Linkage For You
Aug. 5th, 2010 11:32 pmChapter 4 of Cinder-Marty is up! Hopefully everyone will enjoy. This is the last real chapter of "set-up" before we get onto the actual fairy tale.
Happy Birthday Josephine Grey! The advantages of having a Muse Journal -- the girls won't get forgotten anymore. You think I'm going to risk VampDoc2's wrath yet again?
-VD2: *pats* It's okay -- I'm glad you wrote them down this year, though.-
Yeah, I wanted to make sure I remembered.
In other news, why is it we can have a wicked bad thunderstorm this morning, and nothing happens, but the lights go out this evening for about twenty minutes under clear skies? I was worried I wouldn't catch 10:04 for a bit there. Lucky the power came back on pretty quick.
-TD: Any idea what happened?-
None. Far as I can tell, transformer probably blew somewhere -- the rest of the block lost power too.
-D: Huh.-
*shrug* I dunno. I'm just glad things are back on. Tonight would have been pretty bad without my fans.
-Muses: *nodnodnod*-
Anyway, not much else to report. Watched Coraline with director's commentary, wrote some, and played some more AMA -- I'm up to the Vale of Tears level. I've noticed a few things:
-->You can go invisible right in front of enemies, and they'll just plain stop attacking
-->There's two of the special mushrooms right in the first level! If you look closely by one of the buildings when you encounter your first card guard, you'll see it's a mushroom shop. Growing nearby is a bouncy mushroom and a mushroom with teeth!
-->The Cards really do SUCK as a weapon. The secondary burst attack uses up too much will, while the primary fire uses up only a little will per card, but considering you'll be rapid-firing them at enemies. . . . I'm relying on my Vorpal Blade and Croquet Mallet.
-->Speaking of which, I've notice that, at least in these earlier stages where you have less effective weapons, the best way to kill something is to combo your weapons -- like, hit an enemy with the croquet ball, then fling the knife. I don't know how that works, but hey, whatever helps me kill things the easiest. . . .
I've also been looking at American McGee's two twitter feeds (he's got one for himself and one specifically for Alice: Madness Returns stuff) and trying to puzzle out some of the hints he's been dropping about the game. I know, I wasn't all that impressed with what's been released, but I like this sort of "games" stuff. I just resent the idea of having to sign up for fifty million things to figure all of it out.
-VD: Who said you had to sign up for fifty million things?-
Well, apparently you have to follow the AMA blog, sign up for the forums and the newsletter, follow both twitters, AND sign up for the Facebook account to get a proper list of clues. No thanks. All I really want to know right now is if there's some sort of key for The White Rabbit's latest tweet.
-WRM: Why, what is it?-
Code!
-HD: *tilts head* Is it a riddle?-
Maybe, once you decode it. Hmmm. *goes back on the hunt*
