After some fussing and downloading of hairs, I have a Van Dort family for Twin Oaks Park! Here, meet them:
Meet the Folks )

Okay, and now, onto Nostalgia Critic!

Well, sort of -- the bus to get to Providence was 20 minutes late, but on the (sort of) plus side, I didn't have to pay fare. It was an air quality alert day, and on those days the buses are free. I also discovered I can get my monthly pass for half price if I buy it from the CCRI bookstore, so that's also good.

At the mall, I hit the usual stores -- Borders, Hot Topic, Newbury, the works. Newbury's new location in the mall is nice enough, though I'm still getting used to the layout. I did find some stuff I wanted -- I now own both Bolt and Spaceballs on DVD, and I have a new little figurine:
Mechanical Victorian, Anyone? )
After that was Subway, then Dave & Buster's. I got lucky and got another Half Price Wednesday. I'm slowly getting better at Guitar Hero, though I still have a nasty tendency to mix up red and yellow. I also earned myself some more tickets, so maybe I'll end up with a new toy or something later on. And then after that was Ben & Jerry's for an Addicted to Chocolate milkshake. Mmmm, I'd forgotten how good those are. . . .
-TTV: We need to have those FAR more often.-
Sorry, you're going to have to settle for occasionally -- I don't think there's any local Ben & Jerry's around here anymore.
-TTV: *frown*-
Also I'd like to STAY at a 130-something pounds, thank you very much. Not all of us have metabolisms that run on Rule of Funny.
Anyway, after that I came home, did my Sims -- the Van Dorts of Twin Oaks Park are all moved into a house. I chose the "Cape Cod Classic" since it had three bedrooms. Needed to remodel it a little, though -- would you believe the top two rooms didn't have OUTER WALLS? No WONDER the version I use for Emily and Sebastian's twin sons in college constantly has temperature problems up there! *must fix that at some point* They have only about 600 simoleons in the bank right now -- I gotta get Victor a job, and fast.
-RPD: I thought Alice was going to run a toy shop?-
I was actually thinking of that for the Inkwell neighborhood, but when they get the money to buy the station, she can certainly make toys. And maybe I'll have her write children's books with the computer Mr. Humble will be kindly delivering. I do want to try out the new novel system.
That can wait until tomorrow, though -- right now, I have other stuff I want to poke at.
