crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Posted two more Winter Bingo prompts for [livejournal.com profile] 8butterflyboy8: cozy and glowing. Yes, if you pay attention, this means I've done "glowing" twice now. Oops. ^^; None of the others should be repeats, though.
-TTV: At least you tackled the subject in a different way.-
Yeah, it would have been embarrassing to have two fics that were near-identical.

Now, what do I mean by that subject line of mine? Well, I realized something today about my Victor RPing -- I have two Victors who are darn near the OPPOSITE of each other.

I'm serious -- I'm talking about Butterfly Boy and Forgotten Vows. Though they're technically the same person in essentials, they're actually as different as day and night thanks to the worlds and lives. Let's look at the contrasts:

  1. Butterfly Boy enjoys city life; Butterfly Boy hates it. (Of course, we should note that Butterfly Boy lives in the infinitely more interesting Secundus, and his favorite place there is the large green area of Wonderland Park.)
  2. Butterfly Boy loves science and is a total entomology geek; Forgotten Vows enjoys entomology, but doesn't really have much of an interest in other forms of science.
  3. Butterfly Boy is fairly religious -- it doesn't come onscreen much, but he likes to attend church, and he believes in God and all that good stuff; Forgotten Vows still believes, but his faith has been rather shaken by his experiences in the Land of the Dead and with Barkis and Bumby.
  4. On a related note, Butterfly Boy is actually for the most part pretty cheerful, if still shy and nervous; Forgotten Vows tends to be more morose and wary.
  5. On the meta level: Butterfly Boy didn't live through any of his original canon (in fact, his original canon wouldn't even apply to "Secundus"; Forgotten Vows lived through all of it.
  6. Also, Butterfly Boy's past is fairly ordinary and painless, while his future contains something that'll shake his sanity and cause him a lot of pain; Forgotten Vows's angst-fest happened in the past for him, and he's trying to recover from it.

And of course there's the different ways they met Alice, and all that good stuff. Those are the most pertinent points, though. The way I see it, Butterfly Boy is more Enlightenment thinking, while Forgotten Vows is more Romantic thinking.

. . .Shut up, we're learning about it in one of my lit classes. The really weird thing is that I think Butterfly Boy rather likes Forgotten Vows -- or, at least, feels rather protective of him. One of these days I'm gonna get them having a proper conversation.

Speaking of which, I gotta catch up on tumblr -- later!
