Thoughts of the Day
Sep. 19th, 2012 10:50 pm1. Have seen yet another post on tumblr from someone asking if the new Frankenweenie is going to be a prequel to Corpse Bride.
A) People, brush up on your Tim Burton history. This is a remake of a live-action short he did in 1984.
B) Tim Burton, for GOD'S sake start varying your character models!! We wouldn't be in this fix if Victor F. didn't look so much like a young version of Victor V.! (Though, honestly, if you look closely at him, while he does look like Victor, his nose resembles Victoria's more. So he's more accurately a model of Victor and Victoria's potential child.)
2. Had my first Spanish test of the year. I think I did pretty well -- it was mostly simple stuff like figuring out proper pronouns and proving you were paying attention when we watch a DVD on Spain and its culture.
3. Been poking around Archive of Our Own, wondering if I should give it a try. It has some good fic on it, and it even lets you do series. It could at least be an alternate home for the Forgotten Vows Verse.
4. Speaking of which, have a Chapter 15 of "Finding You." In which Bumby is a creeper. I'm afraid that'll be popping up more now that the fic's winding its way to its end.
5. On YouTube, I want to ban the use of "Her Name Is Alice" in any AiW-related videos of any kind at least for a year. I actually sort of like the song, but ye GODS is it overused!
6. On the other hand, I rather like this mashup: Glee -- Heads Will Roll/Thriller. Kind of makes me want to do a CB/AMA-A:MR vid to it. :p
7. Got myself a shiny new book -- The Last Hero by Terry Pratchett, illustrated by Paul Kidby. Paul does nice work, from what I've seen just flipping through it. :D One small problem, though -- ironically, the book's rather larger than I thought. Might be tricky to read it on the bus.
8. And speaking of that, still reading Good Omens and boy has the tension ratcheted up! Although talk about 4 Lines All Waiting, as TV Tropes might say -- there's a bunch of awesome characters in this book, and their plotlines haven't quite yet converged. I can see why it's so popular, though. It's a good read. :D
