25 Days of Multiverse #9
Dec. 9th, 2013 10:12 pmLet's start off with my OT3:
( Ninth Day )
Now, onto the main event -- I saw Frozen today! The winter storm petered out into more of a rain/slush thing, so I was able to get the earlier bus I wanted to the mall. Your highlights:
-->Took a quick wander around Newbury's -- they've rearranged the place yet again. I swear, it's in a different configuration every time I visit. Although I guess this new one does make sense -- all the clothing stuff is together, all the book/graphic novel stuff is together. . .it basically flows.
-->Managed to get a very cheap lunch by simply having one of Subway's 2-buck six-inches. Meatball Marinara -- it was good!
-->The rest of my food was SnoCaps and a (poorly made, but with big cookie chunks on top) Oreo smoothie. I felt SnoCaps were appropriate given the movie I was seeing. Unfortunately, I managed to spill a few on myself -- and not notice until they'd melted. I managed to get most of the chocolate off my jeans, but that was still a touch embarrassing. Oh, and an interesting note -- my ticket was $9. My snacks were $9.50. :P
-->Frozen! Non-Spoilery Thoughts: Good movie! I liked all the characters (even the villains, since they were characterized well), the plot was good, the look of it was beautiful — hooray Disney! :D
( Spoilers Ahead! )
-->Movie ends, I clean off the last of the chocolate, I'm feeling good as I pack up -- aaaand I abruptly realize I've lost my umbrella. Or, rather, that I've left it somewhere before entering the theater. Cue me searching the food court, attached bathroom, and asking at the mall office if anyone's turned it in. No dice -- it's disappeared. My own dumb fault for leaving it behind (I'm simply not used to carrying it), but it did sting a bit. (For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure I either left it in the bathroom or at the food court -- someone must have seen and grabbed it.) Fortunately I was able to grab another one at the mall CVS for a decent price. I'll have to remember to take better care of it!
And once I got home, it was Christmas tree time! Mom & Dad made a driftwood tree this year -- basically, tiered bits of driftwood screwed to a board to look like a tree, with ornaments and beach toys all over it. I helped select wood, get the ornaments, and fix the massive tangle that our lights and bead strings had gotten into. I love my mother, but I'm sincerely glad she won't have a chance to just dump EVERYTHING in the box in a huge knotted mess this year. (She's not very Christmassy and she is RUTHLESS when it comes to taking down that tree.) However, it was all worth it -- I have a couple little pictures of the end result:
( Lit and Unlit )
The downside to that is that I only got on the computer again earlier tonight, and I'm in the more in the mood for looking up Frozen tropes than doing anything else. So a hiatus day has been declared! I was going to take Thursday off, since I have class both that day and Friday, but I think I can work around that easier. Ah well. Speaking of those tropes, I'll be off now! Enjoy my incredibly long entry!
