crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Installed my Alice games this afternoon -- AMA gave me a touch of trouble at first, but that was more it being old and me not remembering which disk I should use first. :P It runs fine, and that's the main thing. A:MR worked out quite well, and -- well --

Lenny is officially amazing.

THE GAME IS FUCKING GORGEOUS.

Seriously, everything seems a million times sharper and clearer! :D :D :D And it loads faster, and runs nice and smooth -- and getting my controller hooked up was easy-peasey-lemon-squeezy, so I can play just as I like from the beginning. And yes, I'm just gonna run through the game again on a clean account probably. Which I've named VictorLuvsAlice. XD I actually played a good chunk of both Alices, so that was fun. I've forgotten how much I actually LIKE video games! Shame I don't really have the time to play. . . Might have to block out some time during Christmas.

I also got Windows Live Mail back -- while the Mail app is okay, and certainly fine for when I first log on, I really need something on the desktop that gives me an audible alert to let me know about new mail. I also downloaded LibreOffice -- why?

Well, I think it's time to join the 21st century and give up my ancient copy of WordPerfect. And LibreOffice is free, open-source, and -- most importantly -- can OPEN wpd files. Can't save as them, though, so I'm going to have to resave everything as odt-format -- but small price to pay. I've been slacking off on my writing due to not having something that can open those files, but now, the vacation's over!

Speaking of which, I have some RP queues to set up, and maybe (if I have time) a DW tag or two to answer, so I'd better get on that. Night!
