When Snow Days Aren't
Mar. 5th, 2015 10:42 pmGot released from work early today because what was supposed to be a relatively light snow system -- with a max of an inch or so inland -- turned out to be a full-on snow storm. The place closed down at three, and I was looking forward to having some extra time for myself --
And I got home just about twenty minutes before my usual time (admittedly on a good day). Reasons?
A) I decided to try for the 3:15 66 bus instead of the 3:38 65X (regular bus versus express), having looked and seen they should both get me home around the same time
B) I forgot that South County does not know how to plow streets to save their lives
Result? 66 was a half-hour late, and it was slow going once we hit the southern part of the state and I could see for myself just how slushy and awful everything was. Mind you, I don't know if waiting for the express would have been any better, given that I heard there was a rollover on Route 1 meaning I could have been stuck in traffic and not arrived home at a decent hour anyway. *grumbles* Just pisses me off. I am so over snow, especially when this is the result.
At least I was able to get in a decent run on the elliptical -- and watch one of Helloween's videos while I was at it (as I realized that would be a great way to sneak in one). And I got a good chunk of "Triskaidekaphobia" edited, and I've just completed tumblr queues. . .despite everything, a productive night. I suppose I should just be happy for that. And the weekend starts tomorrow, so that'll be nice too. Supposed to warm up some -- we can only hope!
All right, time to do my usual "let's get this this and this wrapped up" dance before going to bed. Night all, sleep tight!
